Stonedirt – Redneck Blues (2007)
Stonedirt, a metal band which isn’t really familiar to me released a new album “Redneck Blues”, which seems to be very popular. The band originates from Hungary, but at least their website is also English, so they probably try to be world-famous. I’m not really into this kind of music so I’ll leave the downloading decision on you this time…
Before Stonedirt there was the band called Riuros for over two years. Apart from three members now forming Stonedirt (Balázs, Szilárd and Boldizsár) there was Enikő Tóth (vocalist of Overdream nowdays) and Péter Ertl (guitar). After two demos (Riding The Waves – 2003, After The Storm – 2004) and a lot of concerts it slowly turned out that some of the guys wanted to play something REALLY different. That’s why everything changed and soon Enikő and Péter left Riuros. After a period of trying to find a new way, a new name, and most of all a new voice, Endre Tarjányi (also vocalist of Manikin Faint) joined… and Stonedirt was born – with influences like Pantera, Down, Black Sabbath and Black Label Society. Compared to the former band it is much harder and heavier and with a kind of southern stoner taste.

metal isnt dead, but it is being represented by bands who in other words are just plain EMO! I think metal should be considered dead, just to save all the metal heads from the embarrassment of being associated with EMO music.

Hmm.
Most artists dont care if you download their albums because its only the record label that loses money. Artists only receive a small portion from each CD sold. The real money is made from tours, merchandise ands private performances.

Great album endru, while not an entirely original sound on offer, there is plenty about it to admire and it’s certainly up there with your influences. IMO it’s better than the last BLS album, but that wouldn’t be hard to do
