Stargate The Ark Of Truth 2008 Screener
This screener is a ‘true’ screener, meaning it’s not perfect. I would actually say that the most accurate descriptor for this release would be pointing to a ‘workprint’. A great deal of CGI scenes are not finished yet, although they do not affect the outcome of the movie. Parts of the musical score are missing; and there has been reports of missing dialogue in a few places. There is also a bit of an issue with cropping, and peoples’ heads are cut off in a few scenes. The Ark of Truth answers some questions to stargate atlantis season four that were unanswered. The source of the leaked film was a 1GB+ mp4, and the release here was re-encoded to a more standard size. I noticed this being leaked on the 24th, but I waited until today to post it; I wanted to read some comments on various sites to whether this was a good release or not.
The film has a budget of $7 million, runs 97 minutes long and has a release date set for March 11 of 2008. The version that I have (Stargate.The.Ark.of.Truth.2008.Workprint.XviD.Reencode.avi, 694MB) has numerous problems with quality. I can just name a few nuke reasons: bad crop, out of sync, interlacing, bad ivtc and custom quant matrix. Unless the original uploader decides to learn the basics of ripping from DVDs, we’ll have to suffer with this bad quality until maybe a ’scene’ quality version arrives, but that could be never.
The movie will cover SG-1’s attempt to recover the “Ark of Truth”, a piece of Alteran technology developed before the Ancients left for the Milky Way. In an attempt to prevent the Ori and their followers rising to power, a device was created that could essentially “brainwash” individuals, for instance Priors, into believing whatever “truth” was programmed into the device. The Ancients’ non-interference policy and belief in free will resulted in the device never being used. Even though the promise of Ascension promised by Origin is a lie, the freedom to believe was something the Alterans ultimately decided they did not have the right to restrict.

Watched this the day it got leaked. The PQ isn’t bad - considering it’s a VERY early screener. Sound drops a few times, but only for a split second. The CGI is about 90% complete.
All in all, a very good screener - 9/10. The movie is also awesome.

I watched it yesterday and the quality was pretty much what you’d expect from a 3 month early rls. It was still watchable though, so if you can’t stay in your pants like me, then go ahead and watch it.

yes was released on warez seen a few days back as i came across it earlier.
I’m a fan and I wish I didn’t watch it. The lack of some music, visual effects and overall polish on the film really made it seem boring and dull-looking. Yes storyline similar to series … and i guess they would be boring without these things as well. I think it’s due out in a few months anyway, so wait.

If the movie was complete maybe.. but I don’t want to spoil it for myself watching half cropped scenes and unfinished cgi.
I actually got this 2 days ago but wasn’t able to watch it cause it’s crap quality. This “was” supposed to be realeased originally in june 2007 and after waiting impatiently for all this time hopeing to see it appear any single day since i guess i can wait abit longer for better quality me beeing a huge stagate fan.

I’d be quite surprised if this was ripped from a DVD, at least not without coming via a low quality VHS recording first. The bad cropping might have been deliberate on the original source, this workprint wasn’t intended to leave the production team, after all.
For anyone thinking of downloading this, the picture quality is something akin to a CAM/TS.

Yeah although it has a 7Mill budget it already has alot of props, graphics models etc.
So if they were to re-create the stargate props and graphics then I am sure the cost would rise way about 20 million… So don’t think this is just some low budget piece.
I like the TV series, so the movie should be like an extended higher quality episode.
Can’t wait for Stargate Worlds though… THAT is not budget…
Very much watchable and a very good film indeed. There are only a few parts where the CGI is not complete but it does not affect viewing and all of the gun fights are all fully complete in the CGI respect.
I can wait for a better, perfect quality version.

Picture quality is that of a workprint: some compression and bluriness. Audio is fine though. This release is most definitely watchable and a rather nice Christmas present I should say.

to all the plot is good the acting is awesome as sg1 stars are, here comes the but, has allot of flickering not that its noticeable but if you have an hd tv and I, do the flicker can be seen for a brief moment. I to am an sg1 fan from the days of
showtimes sci-fi Friday. which became sci-fi’s Friday. if you’re an advent fan of the series, download and enjoy the fact that you have something that others have to wait for. hopefully a better copy will be leaked…..

I pulled the mp4 from usenet a few days ago, it is lower quality, but it is very watchable. The only real issue is that everything seems shifted to the left and well, it is more in line with a dsrip, probably the older ones from a few years ago. So, if you look at the bright side, it is a little nostalgia from season 6 downloading, which we all thought was amazing quality with those what, 170 meg rips.
So, quality could go up a bit, I don’t know what CGI needs to be added, everything was in their that I could tell, maybe cleaning up a few effects? However, what they have isn’t all that amazing, and this is a tv show, well, straight to dvd movie now, but, for us that watched the season last year, you just gotta get it.
I got a better rip off usenet that was just over 1GB, so it is probably slightly better quality but for any SG-1 fan’s it is brilliant. Ties up the end of Season 10 perfectly.
I am a huge stargate fan and i saw this a few days ago and thought i would pass due to the fact i dont want it spoiled by a crap quality copy but it did get me in the mood for stargate css if any1 wants to join me there is a css server that only have stargate maps that are amazing ip is 195.242.238.17:27015 cya on there
The quality of this screener is pretty good. Video quality isn’t perfect but very watchable, especially if you use some deinterlace filters on it.
Not much seems to be missing, there are only a couple of things I could spot:
- Begin credits didn’t look finished and end credits were missing
- Some CGI effects were missing: Ori ship glow, a planet texture and another thing I can’t post without spoiling the movie.
Nice Christmas gift for all Stargate fans. You can download it now to see how they tie up the Ori story and you can buy the DVD within a couple of months to watch it again in high quality

watchable..i mean it’s stargate ffs..the quality of video matches the quality of the show…in both cases it’s ok; it’s watchable.
I watched 40:29 of the screener on stage6.divx.com before it crapped out. I thought the quality was excellent up to that point. ANyone know of someplace thats streaming it instead of full on download? Or at least broken into seperate sections?

if your a hardcore stargate fan this is well worth it but if your patient wait till a proper dvd rip.. there is some missing fx in a couple of places not much though and the video quality is average but still worth it
