Pretty sure it’s a mislabeled TS. Could be wrong though, as i’m not an expert, but in any case the quality is pretty bad for a TC. Wouldn’t recommend downloading this.

It is not a TC, but a good TS. Audio is way to high (preamp set to high) and mono! Best copy out there, but a R5 must be close, so I deleted it :) So guys, not a Telecine, just a good mislabeled Telesync.

The book is good, and Neil Gaiman (The Sandman, American Gods, Neverwhere and so much more) is one of my favorite authors. He is like Duglas Adams and Terry Pratchet, just darker and more twisted. We need more fantasy films, to brighten up this fubar world of ours, and to give us back the sense of adventure and wonder we had as kids.. (people between 15 and 30 will have no clue what I am talking about. They are to preoccupied with faking “cool” and “adult”)
    ;)

    @30
Only thing TC is different from TS is that TC uses a direct video source too.

TC = Direct video source + direct audio source.
TS = Any Video Source (usually a CAM video) + direct audio source.

Sometimes direct audio sources don’t come out that well, due to interference/static and so on. However overall it should sound pretty good.

R5’s are basically a EXTREMELY GOOD TC since they most likely have a lot nicer equipment, and isn’t as “underground” and shady. R5’s are just the film prior to “dvd mastering” where it doesn’t have any touch-ups or anything which is usually done for the “Retail release”.

@ 13,14,18,20 You guys obviously don’t know your movie piracy, this is most-definately a TC, not an especially good one at that, but notice how the picture virtaully never moves? and has a perfect shot of the entire movie? TC do look like TS sometimes, but it still has a lot more quality over a TS. Know your stuff before complaining.

all you people complaining and whingin about quality. How about a thank you every now and then to the uploader and to the guy that uses up some of his spare time to write these reviews. Its free and you all expect dvd quality every time. if you want dvd quality go and spend 30 bucks and buy the dam thing when it comes out on dvd or even hddvd. Otherwise dont complain soo much

video is dark and a little blurry…it’s watchable… as long as you don’t go full screen…….

In the same way that people think a TS has to have better picture quality than a CAM people assume a TC must be better quality than a TS. There is little use guessing what is a TS and what is a TC based on general impressions of quality (color, tint, contrast, constant blur etc.) There a number of good indicators of when a TC is in fact a TS.

*Flicker/Ghosting - TCs are normally done with cameras running at the same FPS as the original film.

*Heads – if there are people walking across, it can’t be a TC.

    As #35 said…
    * Camera movement Rare in TCs for the camera to zoom/pan around.

    * In and out of focus – Normally suggests that it has been shot by a camera with autofocus on – a mistake made by fairly new pirates, TC pirates generally have more experience.

Remember that TCs and TSs both use the same kinds of sound sources, it can be good or poor quality for both, poor sound isn’t an indicator of it being a TS.

I haven’t checked this movie myself; just the sample, and I agree it looks very poor. If somebody notices something that makes it pretty certain to be a TS post it.

QUALITY (we need more posts about quality and less about people slagging each other off, just my opinion)

    Video: 6.8/10
-Needs some adjustment in vlc, contrast saturation, bit washed out in parts, reasonably sharp picture for a TC, definately watchable.

    Audio: 5.5/10
-generally OK but distorted during big orchestral moments

Overall: Worth the download if u cant wait for R5 or DVDSCR. Watchable and enjoyable but possibly worth the wait for better as this movie is awesome! Great acting, dialogue and sceenery! ENJOY :)

personally Id prefer this one if someone else had converted it to H264 mp4 then I wouldnt have used up 1.4gigs of monthly allowance, a 350meg version of this would have had roughly the same quality. I dont see the point in making a TC with video quality of 6-7/10 at 1.4gigs. there just isnt enough detail to warrant such a big file if ya ask me…

“Quality is good, nice picture with…”

    “Video: 6.8/10″

Please…I’ve watched enough CAMS over the years and this doesn’t even come close to the quality that you can get, and IMO this isn’t a TC it’s a TS.

Personally I don’t think this release is worth the download as I don’t see how you can enjoy a film when you’re watching it in this quality.

I deleted it after I’d watched it for 5 mins!

Well… I’ve been waiting for a more proper release, and mVs did had good TC releases. It’s as good as #43 says: just a TS.
Video/Audio are blurred/mono; I give it a 6/5 (if it should be stereo, well..mono just sounds better in this), but ok. It’s not a dvd rip.
BUT. According to the reviews I expected more of this movie. And believe me, I am a big fan of fantasy movies.

Although Pfeiffer and de Niro are part of the cast, I’m still disappointed.
For me, this movie belongs to the same category as ‘never ending story’, ‘harry potter’, ‘bridge to terabithia’ or ‘chronicles etc of Narnia’.
Childish, too much of romance and not much worth the downloading.
It looks to me it’s a lame copy of those ‘wannabe-adventure/fantasy’ movies which where actually ‘hits’.
    Sorry, I deleted this one.
