I’m pretty sure many are waiting for this one. Today another P2P group has released the first CAM of the 2009 Star Trek flick. This movie has gottten some good early ratings. The quality isn’t very good. It is over cropped but the video is bright, the sound is decent as well. Take a look at the samples for more information. DEViSE releases a 1cd rip.

I wouldn't waste your time on this cam. To get the full spectrum of the INCREDIBLE effects and cinematography of this film, you would be better of just coughing up the money to see it at the cinema. Or at least wait for the R5.

I haven't been to the movies in years. But i went and saw the premiere of this movie, and i would actually consider going back to watch it again.
Great movie. Awesome detail and special effects. Very good acting.
You have to go see it in the cinemas or at least get a good copy of this for the first time you watch it.
I really really recommend watching this in a theater on a big ass screen. This movie is spectacular on the big screen and really profits from theater sound. It is worth the money.

a TS is direct audio. The picture quality won't be better. The only way you are going to get a high quality copy is either screener, R5, or Telecine.
There wont be an R5, this is a Paramount film and as Paramount doesn't do R5's don't expect there to be one
being a fan of the original star trek, i hope this isn't a bunch of cheese to appeal to the mtv crowd with cheesy rock music and heart throb actors for the teens. am i getting old or is does popular culture suck more than it used to?

TS = better audio, doesn't mean that picture quality is better. Use the internet and look it up stupid.
TeleSync (TS): Contrary to popular belief, the video quality of a TS is not necessarily better than a cam. The term Telesync doesn’t indicate better video quality but better audio quality. The CAM source is then synchronized with a secondary audio recording, either done with a professional microphone in an empty cinema (even though by Scene Rules this would be nuked since the audio is not direct, they are hard to tell the difference), fed directly from the cinema’s sound system, or captured from an FM radio transmission intended for hearing-impaired customers. Often, a “Cam” is mislabeled as a telesync.

When cinemas start charging a couple of quid in and bring prices of goodies down a lot, then screw the cinemas alltogether and if the movie makers have not got the sense to get this to happen then screw them too.

hate to show my age but….i watched the original series as a kid..no series afterwards came as close..although i liked picard..he was just too stuffy…lol..anyways, I went to see this movie in imax and was hesitant as most fans of the original probaly were and it surpass all my expectations…seems as though they picked all the right people to play the parts…and because of the way the movie ended…it left lots of possibilities for characters to be moulded differently and also story possibilities…go to the theater

I saw pics of the TS, it is alot better quality then the cam version that was released. i know a TS is a cam also, but the TS is a different source and has a very good picture
Yes yes, movie is great, saw it in theaters. Just looking for a good release to tide me over until I can see it again so for the love of God people stop telling everyone to "just go see it in the theater" as some of us have already done just that. Is this worth it or should I just wait for another release (assuming another release won't take weeks, in which case I will have watched it in-theater again already).

I can not believe how many people rave about this movie. It was HORRIBLE. The acting was horrible, the story was horrible, it ruined it all. It has ruined my weekend.
The only redeeming qualities of this movie is decent action scenes and Simon Pegg. This movie is so full of holes it isn't even funny.
Go pay to see it, make these idiots rich of a craptastic movie.

I just saw this in theaters. IT SUCKED!! That's about as articulate as I can be. 8.4 at IMDB, if it were an original concept I'd give it a 6 as it is it's a 5.
They traded acting and writing for CGI and cameramen with Parkinson's. Par for the course these days but this was pretty bad.

This movie kicks ass at a DLP Digital Cinema theatre but this release looks like a garbage scow that's why half the Quadrant is speaking Klingonese so GO TO THE THEATRE you CHEAPO's and I'm an old school Star Trek fan from the 1960's who will say that Leonard Nimoy the REAL Mr. Spock is still THE MAN when it comes to playing Spock that's why he was in this movie!!! At the Digital Cinema theatre I went to see the movie the screen resolution was 4096 x 2160 according to the theatre manager.

Well, McCoy and Scotty were great, but the rest was horrible.
It was decent B-movie for sunday evening, but it was HORRIBLE Star Trek. It wasn't even Star Trek, it was something like Trek Wars. Why were they using blasters? I don't want blasters in Star Trek, I want phasers. And what about the Star Wars scenes? Vulcan vs. Alderaan, Hoth vs. Delta Vega, why they did it? Plot was incredibly lame, effects were cool, bud for Star Wars, not Star Trek. ILM really cannot make phaser fire? Just blasters? And what about the factory in the Enterprise? And that horrible thing with water pipes? I am sorry, but this was biggest dissapointment of the year. After the film, in the cinema, I did "epic fail five" with all my friends
I go with 5/10 as sci-fi movie with some cool effects, but 2/10 as Star Trek, one point for McCoy, second for Scotty. But his horned Ewok, or what the hell was that thing… not really Star Trek thing. I am sorry, Trek Wars, but I wish you "Short life and decay."

Completely agree Semi, same with Spock being a rebellious kid. Theyre going for the rebellious teenager crowd. They should have nixed the Star Trek name and went with a better story. Instead of insanely futuristic things that have no bearing on actual life they should have taken the Galactica route and basically made it seem like the US Navy in space. Where a War Ship is built and run like an actual War Ship. You dont put the central nervous system of the ship up front with no protection you bury it within the ship.
I would love to see a Sci Fi (not the channel, actual science fiction) movie that starts a series, not quite as dark as BSG but intelligently designed to seem realistic.

It doesn't have the great thoughts and big ideas of the old movies, but it's still the best movie I've seen since RotS.

saw this movie in Imax. worth the money. i would recommend everyone see it there.
