Just a quickie about the proper cracked version of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. Released by Vitality, this version finally includes a real crack, so you won’t have to use any emulation software. Yeah that works fine. Unleashed’s release is just a 1 on 1 copy of an original DVD, so it is the same as buying it in the score, except that you don’t have a CD-key. It is protected (with Starforce) so any crack for the original will work.

The Unleashed release is protected with Securom, get your facts straight.
Playing Unleashed version and no yasu or crack needed, daemon tools will do the trick.

The Emu and Crack seems to work fine but when i tried loading the game it gives the splash screen but then it just goes away. doesnt look like it tries to load the game at all. any ideas on whats going on here? i’ve downloaded the latest video drivers and i have the latest Directx but still no luck. my brother installed it and it works fine on his. i tried copying over his installed folder but it does the same. something somewhere on my system is causing it. but i’ve run out of ideas.

I had the same problem, reinstalling the game solved it. Before installing make sure you close all other programs including antivirus software.

does anyone know how to change from static lightning to dynamic lightning? (it’s stuck at static and i can’t change it to dynamic – i have radeon 9550 256ram gecube)

I own the game but used the viltality no dvd patch and the game runs fine with out the dvd however when using the trainer with the no cd patch always crashs the game
To magnus: the game seems to crash with static lightning when using unleashed trainer… yet it works fine with dynamic lightning, wtf? And I’m using original exe.
There’s something messy about static lightning as it makes my game really unstable (constant crashes, lag spikes, etc)… and of course my system is rather old so I really can’t play with full dynamic lightning (avg. 10-15 fps, bleh).
Seems like a nice game, but not nice enough to upgrade my pc just for this… guess I’ll try the crack if the problem is the damn cd/dvd protection (though I doubt it).

to FLOS: Go to MENU, change to dynamic lighting, you need to restart game. Should work fine.
I have Pentium 3.0 GHZ/2 RAM/GeForce 6800 runs fine, have set: MEDIUM quality, 1280×800, static lighting.
But game is sooo bad, will uninstall it in few sec.
Compare this to HL2, F.E.A.R., Call of Duty 2 – by it’s gameplay and interaction?! – no chance.

I’m having problems with the game. Stalker wont even start! I installed it just fine and everything, but as soon as i double click the desktop shortcut, it goes to that little splash screen with copyright info, then just quits…nothing happens at all after that…

I updated my catalysts, directx, unblocked the game through my virus protector, and increased virtual memory to 2gigs. Nothing. And I know my video card can support it as I’ve seen others run the game on the same card and with half a gig less. If you know of any solutions, I would greatly appreicate it. Chad , please try to play it a bit longer than 1 minute.
I was frustrated at the start of the game, but so many interesting things happened in 1 game hour that I became really addicted and could not stop playing it.
There are so many interesting places to explorer , and there is also so much freedom on what to do or where to go.
The weapons in the beginning are really bad , but wait until you get your hands on a “obokan” with a 4x scope , you will kill people from a safe distance with just 1 shot (if you crouch , for better stability).
I don’t know what this game looks like in lower settings , but with quality settings maxed out … it´s just like a dream (I use a 8800gtx!)
Well , anyway … just give it a try. I think you won’t regret it.

No matter how pretty the outside enviroment is the whole thing has a ”old vibe” to it.Its like a hybrid of Deus ex,soldier of fortune and operation flashpoint.Just done really badly. I played for half an hour and deleted the thing off my hard drive.The weapons and character graphics are crap as well as the artificial intelligence model.Graphicaly some bits look great and some things like crap..overall I find this game like a Russian space craft..outdate by launch time,full of copied technology and full of worrying bits..lol

Eh.. I can’t open the vty-ssoc file to install it, and when i try to copy to DVD, I get error messages for each file.
Is there a certain program I need to use to open the vty-ssoc file?

How can you say this game doesn’t look good? Your machine must be a piece of shit. Those graphics are amazing. There are 1 million polygons per screen, and the X-Ray engine is just beautiful. Also, the AI model? One of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s an entire other program inside the game. Things happen even if you’re not there. As far as I know, there is no script for things to happen when you trigger events. It’s all AI.

Omg. The skies in the game are messed up. It sorta sticks an image of the previous thing I looked at. E.G. Trees or Birds-sort-like things that fly around (I can’t see cause the image of trees etc get stucked). Anyone know what’s wrong?

I seem to have a problem where the last “seen” object gets stucked in the sky.
It’s like when your whole PC hangs, and you move your mouse around, thus having lots of mouse cursors “frozen” in the screen but you are still able to move it?

I have downloaded another version of the Vitality-Stalker but now file vty-ssoc.part73a.rar is corrupt.If someone that has a proper download from either torrents can help me with these two files,i would appreciate it.

Can’t you switch the corrupt files with working ones than?
Example: Take the file 71 from your second Vitality download and switch it with the corrupt 71 file from your first Vitality download. That should do the trick right?

some people here have the same problem as me, and i havnt seen an answer to it yet. but basically i installed the game, replaced the exe with the cracked version, run the game, the splasher loads up and then disappears and nothing happens. daemon tools is loaded and updated, drives r fine, could it be that my video card isnt the best quality? would the game prevent itself from running if my computer didnt meet the game requirements?
I downloaded on emule and I’m having major problems. In the bin there is a 5mb xr_3da, and a folder called dedicated that has another xr_3da that’s 1.8mb. I replaced it for the stk-WW-1001 (both of them), but it doesn’t work worth crap. I got the can’t find xrsound.ddl message, can’t find directory and every message possible. I’m really stumped and I need some help. I really don’t want to re-download it, but if I have to I will.
P.S. I’m using vista 64 bit.
I have given up in all hope of trying to download this game. I have wasted far too many hours downloading this 3 times!! one unleashed ver. and two Vitality versions all 3 corrupt!! I’ve just installed the game and all I can see when I begin is 360 degrees of sky around me, a faint neon light above me and some guy talking to me.
Something is obviously not right, as I’m pretty sure I should be seeing a room.
Make sure your computer meets the minimum specs and update your graphics card drivers will either be ATi or nVidia.

Turn off Dynamic Lighting (use static lighting). Its a bug with nvidia driver that they havent fixed yet.
Hey, I’ve downloaded and installed. I had to download the Crack Only from here because HATRED couldn’t crack shit. But when the game runs it shows the splash (the small picture that has copyright details and such) and then closes. Can anyone give help?
I have also increased my virtual memory. It is now above 2 gigs and I get the same problem. I changed my virtual memory because I re-installed and a messagebox popped up saying my paging file size was too small

I have installed the game, and I have a crack. But when I click on the crack I get an error ”missing file xrsound.dll” or something. hey all of you who can not run Stalker download program called 3D-Analyzer 2.36,and instal them.Then Open it, Select the game (Ex: F:\Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\XR_3DA.exe) and then be sure to tick "force SW TnL" under the "Performance" section, and the tick "force max. pixel shader version 1.1" under the "Pixel and Vertex Shader section"
