    The app is BRILLIANT, but i simply couldnot turn to my 6 channel Dolby Digital Tracks to be recognised on my Z5500D on a SPDIF Link after the installation of the SRS Audio Soundbox. Morever,as No2 says, AVG does detects that it has gpt virus.
    Anyway, for just 2 channel MP3/stereo tracks, the sound xperience through this app was awesome!!!

    This thing kind of sucks. If your sound isnt good, get a new soundcard. X-fi or something using the CMEDIA oxygen chips such as Razer Sound card or Asus cards. These artifically ***ks with the sound settings.

    Oh and get new speakers.

    All this really does is boost the mid and treble frequencies which makes u think your speakers sound better. But in reality your speakers suck so much ass they can’t reproduce the original sounds properly.

    Using this is like putting a loud exhaust on your Toyota Yaris. Sure it sounds louder but it still sucks.

    tried this softy with my Creative EP-630 earphones and Creative HN-700 active noise cancellation headphones…there’s a marked improvement in low frequency sounds, yet quality of sound remains intact…definitely recommended to all music lovers

    This “audio enhancer” plugs are a waste of time..

    just like the vfx plugin it makes the “off” setup sound worse than it originally did without it so you’ll say “ooh it really improves the sound! zomg!” :(

    Some people may find this useful, but I’ve been comfortable after replacing crappy creative drivers with kX Project ones. Much better sound, gazillions of options more… and they play nice with Reason and other audio apps. But then again, I’m still using prehistoric SB Live Platinum. ;)

    I don’t know why some negative posts here. I’ve been using SRS for years now. Even with just default settings there is a marked improvement in sound. I used DFX before which was good but this is better.

    At the end of the day this kind of app will be down to PERSONAL preference. Give it a try, you may or may not like it.

    but have to dissagree with u sayin it js makes music louder i mean fair play it does but it does say audio enhancement tool which means u can enhance bass treble.

    i mean iv got Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty 7.1 Champion Series Sound Card with that pluged into a £250 sony amp with 6 speakers pluged into that plus with an extra 7.1 suround sound system also pluged into it and i must say i use a audio enhancement program on my pc i if u set it up right u can get it to sound much better.

    but if u do js want it louder then by a better sound card and speakers

    Also as someone mentioned above this kind of app is no replacement for decent speakers and hardware. This, like DFX, is essentially an equalizer/mixer program which will tune your bass and treble settings and try to clean some things up. If you have poor hardware or are tone deaf no software can make that sound world class :)

    I have had problems with this software in the past on both soundmax mobo sound and a creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1. To me, its like enabling the “sound enhancer” in iTunes.

    The only decent audio enhancement tools I have heard are Creative’s 24 bit crystallizer which definitely seems to improve the treble punch in sounds while leaving the rest alone. There have been reports however that is actually limits the dynamic range a bit.

    And I absolutely love the RAZER ESP, which increases the volume of far away sounds in a 3d landscape without increase overall volume. Its great for fps like rainbow six, you can hear footsteps in the other room lol.

    I own both an X-Fi and Razer Barracuda AC-1. I also have the Asus DX but its not a very good gamer card, it emulates EAX which doesn’t always work. For speakers, when I use 5.1 I have a Bose Lifestyle system hooked up through optical, and for everything else i use Klipsch THX Promedia 2.1. For headphones, I just use my Bose Triports or Seinhienser cx-300s.

    But hey its free right? Give it a try anyways, you can always uninstall it. I actually bought it back in the day, hence the bitterness.

    Nothing better for gaming, imo, especially if your gonna start playing some EAX HD games. The Razer and Asus are pretty close in sound quality but they lack EAX HD support, which imo, makes a difference. For audio composition? Hell no. Unless you want to create some midi files. However, you could just use Mario paint though for the true retro tv “tube” sound. *see what i did there?* ;)

    I use Izotope Vinyl in Windows..its good and boots your speaker’s bass. Open OSS in linux improves sounds but some games made for linux don’t have sound. :(

    Some people like this, some people don’t.

    The people who don’t like it are audiophiles who strive for the best sound quality. The people who do like it are normal people who just want better sound without having to play around with settings or buying expensive soundcards.

    Me? I’m a film editor and I have to have accurate, precise sound in all my professional work, so I wouldn’t use this when doing that. But when I’m at home, I’ve got this installed and running all the time. The difference is noticeable. Sure, DFX is nice too, but you need to install multiple plugins and even then, it only improves the sound in the apps that support those plugins.

    This is a very nice little program that makes your soundcard(or lack thereof) and speakers sound like they cost several times more than they did. If you’re not a fussy nerd when it comes to sound, install SRS and enjoy.

    It works perfectly with my multiple speaker setup, but then I opened the panel and activated the correct settings in the “Technology” subsection.

    I only use this app as a replacement for Toshiba Virtual Sound. It works on XP only, and iv upgraded to Vista. If only Toshiba Virtual Sound worked on Vista.

    No but i think it sounds crappy on movies but music it sound pretty good. Makes deep voice people sound like Darth Vader or a robot

    Yah, this works pretty good and I’m surprised I haven’t heard of this software till now. Movie mode sounds just like Izotope OzoneMP, the winamp DSP plugin I’ve used religiously for four years but like a prev poster said, winamp plugins only work with winamp (unless you rig it up to work with ffdshow). This one works easy peasy with my movie player of choice, Zoom Player, since it took over as my default direct sound device. Nice piece of software which I’m sure I will some use for.

    This program is for people who think they are going to get a REAL studio sound.

    This is a poor-mans audio enhancer.

    Tip - Buy a good audio card, and speakers if you want good audio. Thats the ONLY thing you can do if you want the best!

    My device works perfectly, including with my theater sound system. All speakers work once you find the right settings. My only problem now is that I currently have a broken link. Please HELP.
