S.R.A.C.S-FLT

I’m starting to just expect every cracked game release to be from FAiRLiGHT. They obviously have picked up a couple of new people and sources to help them. Always good to see an old games group going so strong. Their latest (not for long i think :) ) is called S.R.A.C.S. which is short for Special Rescue Air Cav(alry?) Squad. Looks like a 3D side scrolling shooter. You don’t see games like this nowadays very often but they are fun. This game is the spiritual successor to ChopLifter which if your old enough to remember was a game originally for the Apple II way back in 1982! System requirements are very low so everyone should be able to get this running and its only 270 MB in size so this could be worth the download if your bored and want a bit of quick oldskool inspired gaming!

Note: There was a previous CLONE release by Unleashed.

Who just doesnt love to remember the classic times when you had frantic fun playing games on your Amiga? In S.R.A.C.S., the legendary shooting arcade classic Choplifter begins a new life – with updated, state-of-the-art graphics. In this full of mayhem title youre flying with a helicopter through actual existing areas loaded with spectacular effects.

Forty mind-blowing missions lead PC-pilots all over the globe with the choice of three different helicopters. Together with a special squad of elite forces, they rescue hostages or destroy enemy submarines in conflict areas like North Korea, Columbia or Bosnia, firing all their way and evading hostile air defenses. Thanks to its easy and intuitive controls, S.R.A.C.S. is a great gameplay experience for rookies and veteran gamers alike.

Wow I remember back in the 90’s when I played a game like this, you have to rescue hostages, but first you had to take out hostile positions with a helicopter, destroy ant-air missle sites and aother objectives. Then send in the rescue helicopter and boom mession complete, and as you went on to different stages they missions got really hard., I don’t think I ever finished the game. It was a rental anyways.. only had it for a week. I could of kept it but then I got into sonic the hedgehog..

@13 The game you remember might be Apocalypse on the Amiga. (search for it at http://www.lemonamiga.com/) or it might be Fort Apocalypse on the Commodore 64 (search for it on http://www.lemon64.com/)

I know I have sure spent my youth playing those games :P

Choplifter wasn’t all that great for me back in the day. But Rescue Raiders… now THAT was an amazing helicopter game. I played that one for months! I’m hoping this is like Rescue Raiders.

    October 1st, 2007 | 05:33

At lee walton: I saw no .rar files at all…if it was there, then it would be easy…but no .rar files for me…is it on yours? I get 20 of these numerically, flt-srac.001 till .020 and then fit-srac.nfo and lastly fit-srac.sfv, but no .rar files.

    #38

These are WinRAR files with different extensions and are more common than you think, just open WinRAR manually, choose the .001 file and extract to the folder of your choice.

The files will extract just like your normal rar files will.
