Splinter Cell Double Agent DVD9 -Unleashed

Splinter Cell Double Agent is here at last! And yes it’s in DVD9 format like a few other recent games. Luckily I bought a double-layer DVD burner about a year ago as an insurance policy for cases like these. Ok, now it’s time for my thoughts on this game. No I do not think of this as the next-gen Splinter Cell even tough it is being sold like that. It’s still Unreal Engine 2.5 so basically that makes it just as next-gen as Splinter Cell 1 ‘cept for more poly’s and shaders. I’m really excited about the whole trust-system you get now because you have to please both the NSA and the terrorists you work for. Yeah… YOU WORK FOR TERRORISTS TOO! It would appear that Sam served his country, risked his life for millions of people and his big reward is an unfortunate accident involving a car and his daughter’s corpse. What’s also cool, and I hope it works, are the difficult choices you have to make. Will you kill an innocent man crying and begging for his life, just to show those terrorist scumbags that your an ice cold killer? And by doing so, making the NSA very unhappy. Or will you make them doubt your use in their organization, but keep the NSA on your side. No, you can not just help the terrorists and screw the NSA over. That’ll result in a big screen saying “GAME OVER”. Same goes for kissing the NSA’s ass all the time. Hope ya’ll will enjoy this game, I know I will!

Veteran agent Sam Fisher is back. But he’s never faced an enemy like this before. To stop a devastating terrorist attack, he must infiltrate a vicious terrorist group and destroy it from within. For the first time ever, experience the relentless tension and gut-wrenching dilemmas of life as a double agent. As you infiltrate a terrorist organization in its American headquarters, you must carefully weigh the consequences of your actions. Kill too many criminals and you’ll blow your cover. Hesitate too long and millions will die. Do whatever it takes to complete your mission, but get out alive.

Double Agent will completely revolutionise and reinvent the spy action genre by introducing the “double agent” concept, creating an entirely new breed of game play.

Double Agent is a collaborative development effort between Ubisoft’s award-winning development studios in Montreal, Shanghai and Annecy, France û and will take advantage of each platform with exclusive content and unique game play experiences.

Dual objectives to fulfil: NSA government agents and terrorists will each want you to accomplish opposing tasks at the same time.

Discover the tension of being a double agent: Use actual tactics employed by today’s real-life double agents to sabotage the terrorists’ plans.

Explore a branching storyline with multiple endings: Your choices have an impact on how the story and game play unfolds.

A world of international espionage: Missions from all over the world, from Asia to Africa to the heart of the US. Experience extreme situations: underwater or in a sandstorm, hiding behind the dust or smoke – and even skydiving.

New authentic gadgets: Master the latest weapons and gadgets used by NSA government agents in addition to black-market terrorist weapons.
Innovative online play: The critically acclaimed multiplayer action of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell is back with entirely new innovations for each platform.

Playing it on X360. Nice game, but the undercover scenes suck. The 3d map looks good but does not help at all and most of the time I rund around trying to find out where I have to go. But it’s art design is perfect and if you have a good sound system the music adds a lot to the atmosphere.

man, these games are really getting high-end!at this rate i’d have to buy a machine tht’ll atleast be an octa-core or sumthn! lmao!

  15. November 5th, 2006 | 14:03

revenant. , I did see the games requirements within the description, but those requirements are pretty sick if you just want to play it but have an ordinary computer (2.66 GHz Normal video card etcetera). I self have a pretty new Laptop, but I would never play this game, high standards lately, it doesnt really bug meh, but I think they should downgrade the price of those fancy pc’s then :P

  16. November 5th, 2006 | 15:18

Hardware manufacturers and game developers are two different industries. They can’t compensate their prices. And I make enough money to upgrade every 3 or 4 months and I’ve been playing this game on the highest settings (1024×768) with only a few hick-ups every now and then but those are so insignificant they don’t interrupt the gameplay at all. And as soon as that 8800GTX hits I’ll buy it as well so I can play Crysis on the highest settings. Why did I tell you about all this? Because I’m 16 years old and I’m a stockboy. That’s the kind of minimum wage job you need to be able to afford a high-end PC. I really don’t get all those people who complain about prices when all they need is to get a job.

Currently Im attending Flight School, Im gonna be a commercial airline pilot, wich means I get to spend some big ones in the future… In the gddamn future! I first have to pay back the one hundred thousend euros debt, because that is the ammount you need to pay to be attending the study in the first place. Im didn’t mean to be talking about money issues, it’s just that some people aren’t actually computer geeks and don’t know awfully alot about pc’s (nothing autobiography about that though), or just can’t spend that much on the stuff. When you want to play a game, you shouldn’t need a system upgrade. If you would have a mediocre computer (maybe even new from the stores) it should play the new stuff without a hassle. Really happy for you to be sweet sixteen and not delivering newspapers, but just get the point… ;) peace!

    agreed ;)

    per month :
my flat : 220 euro (and its really cheap)
    water/voltage/ : 60 euro
    cell phone : 60 euro
    flatrate : 60 euro (arr 666)
car insurance : 100 euro (dont know for sure)
    home insurance : 50 euro
    fuel : 120 euro
    eat&drink&cat : 200 – 250 euro

this is completly without the “fun stuff” like dvds, drugs, cinema, music or whatever .. now they wonder why we do piracy ;p

    November 5th, 2006 | 19:24

and i have 2 jobs .. now don´t tell me to get another one .. spoiled brat ;)

Gaming is for rich people only, like many other things!

  24. November 5th, 2006 | 23:30

Ok so maybe I was talking about most teenagers… :P I get what all of you are saying, but still. Like my parents both have a job and they more or less end up with about 200 bucks to spend on all the “fun stuff”. If I’d keep 200 bucks for myself (when I wasn’t married and didn’t have any kids) that money would go straight to either hardware or I’d use it to save up for hardware. So it’s really a matter of choice. All of you guys who keep that extra money usually go out with friends and family and that costs money. Me, I’d be so damn pathetic I wouldn’t even bother doing that.

So what does this mean? Ignore me, I’m just a 16 year old lifeless retard who cares more about computers then ANYTHING else.

i care about chickens more then anything else

  26. November 6th, 2006 | 21:20

I care about Gnochi more then anything else actually. I stead of ending up being able to play games with fictional characters lives, I end up having a real life. Now what is more worth, let me reconsider that… yeah, I gotta buy meself a system upgrade for sureó.

  27. November 6th, 2006 | 21:23

What Im trying to say is… I installed Flight Sim X on my dads pc, wich is a pretty new 3.0 Ghz Dual Core processor supported by nVidia Graphics. Shouldnt be any problem right… Guess again! And that just makes me sad.
