Spider Man 3

A long awaited release of Spider Man 3 becomes the reality. Well, it’s not the movie itself, but at least the game to satisfy first wave of impatience for everything with Spiderman 3 on it. This is an extremely huge release - the game itself was released mainly for consoles and developers obviously didn’t pay much attention to its PC conversion. You can expect enormous hardware requirements as the result of this, and also full DVD size with not that good game. This is a nogroup release with minimal amount of information in the NFO (”copy crack”), but it has been reported as working. I’m really looking forward to the movie, which will have the US premiere in New York on 30th April. Have fun!

Based on Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Columbia Pictures’ upcoming feature film, Spider-Man 3 allows players to experience the actions of heroic red-suited Spider-Man and, for the first time ever, his darker, more mysterious black-suited persona. Set in a larger, dynamic, free-roaming New York City, the game gives players the freedom to choose their own gameplay experience through multiple movie-based and original storylines, fully integrated city missions and performance rewards including improved speed, combat maneuvers and agility. In Spider-Man 3, players draw upon Spider-Man’s completely revamped combat abilities as they protect the city and defeat nemeses using expanded aerial fighting, finishing moves and dynamic webbing during missions and epic boss battles.

Even the noblest of Superheroes has a dark side. Unleash it. This is Spider-Man like you’ve never seen before. BOLDER. Feel the rush of protecting NewYork as the heroic Spider-Man plus feel the thrill of becoming the more a ggressive Black-Suited Spider-Man-unleashing your powers while struggling against the darkness that threatens to tear your world apart. BIGGER. Explore the most massive most detailed New York City ever in a Spider-Man game roaming from skyscraper to subway and beyond. BETTER. Not only does next-gen technology raise the bar in gameplay a unique combat system and unprecedented freedom to call the shots make this the most fun and exciting Spider-Man gaming experience ever.

Game features:

  • Feel the adrenaline of the Black-Suited Spider-Man - Unleash new abilities and powers, but watch out — the rush of intensified powers could overwhelm you
  • More freedom than ever - Enjoy unprecedented freedom as you swing through the city. Roam anywhere and explore the most massive, detailed New York City ever seen in a Spider-Man game
  • Battle 10 of Spider-Man’s most infamous enemies from the movie and comics, including Sandman and Venom
  • All-new combat system - Empower both Spider-Men with suit-specific powers and abilities — with new attacks and finishers for both Classic and Black-Suited Spider-Man

Game info:

  • Manhattan in the game is far bigger than in Spider-Man 2 and is actually the biggest city made for a Spider-Man video game. The game will also feature over 20 miles of sewers and subways. This is definite for the next-gen and current-gen games; the handhelds will have a free-roaming environment also, but no size is confirmed.
  • Spider-Man has a brand new combat system that was worked from the ground up and includes more aerial moves and web attacks, something the game designers really wanted to add into it. This is in every single version of the game. For the Wii, the motion sensors will be used during combat, the nunchuck will be Spider-mans left hand while the remote will be the right, moving both the nunchuck and the remote in different directions will cause Spider-man to do different attacks.
  • In the Wii version, the motion sensors will also be used for web-slinging as well as combat. Again, the remote & nunchuck will be Spidey’s left & right hands, flicking the remote or nunchuck while in the air will fire a webshot in the direction you flicked, handy for when you need to go round corners.
  • Part of the game puts the player in control of the Black Suited Spider-Man where Spider-Man’s combat system has more brutal moves and a “Rage” system that allows the most aggressive moves in the whole game. Also note that on the Playstation 3 & the Wii you can get the black suit at anytime during gameplay.
  • Rather than cutscenes, the game will feature cineractives that are button sensitive. Game director Chris Arcer explained that all the gameplay is playable, including what would be included as a cinematic. Cineractives are motion based on Wii version.
  • There are 10 storylines (one of which is the movie storyline) and all the crime is caused by 4 rival gangs that will interact differently as the Artificial Intelligence in the game is improved due to next-gen technology.

Minimal system requirements (OMG):

  • CPU: Pentium 4/Athlon XP or better
  • CPU Speed: 2.8 GHz
  • System: RAM 1 GB for Windows 2000/XP or 1.5 GB for Windows Vista
  • Operating System: English version of Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000/XP/Vista
  • Video Card: 100% DirectX(R) 9.0c-compliant AGP/PCIe 256 MB onboard memory hardware T&L-capable video card with Shader Model 3.0 support and the latest drivers (NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT+ / ATI Radeon X1300+)
  • Free Disk Space 6 GB of uncompressed hard disk space (plus 600 MB for the Windows swap file)

Hopefully this one has the same engine as the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions and they didn’t cop out this year on the PC and give us a shitty PS2 engine one. Our PCs can mob that shit! Then again.. Marvel Ultimate Alliance had the next-gen engines.. and that was Activision.. promising..

Not really, if it is ported from the 360 version with the better graphics. Will wait to try it and see…. Can’t wait for the Wii version…even if the graphics aren’t as good.

Is it too much to ask that games be capable of running at lower graphics detail on lesser machines. I mean, you really gotta keep a helluva PC (or at least GPU) to play the latest PC games worth a crap. Maybe these game developers will learn from the Wii: It’s not all about graphics anyway, game play is what matters most.

Thank you, but I have a job.. and mouths besides my own to think about feeding. Dropping $130 to $200 on a better video card just isn’t in the cards for me, and plenty of others.

I have to agree with DBCCH. Developers really need to scale back their graphics a little and give us poorer folk a chance to play some of the newer video games.

Looks like a good game, although this doesn’t look like a real release. It just looks like some p2p lamer has quickly packed up their release to mask it as a real release (not even adding a grp tag or bothering with the info), thinking that they are so cool. LoL

I have AMD 5200+ Dual Core
    2 gig 667 ram
    7900GT 256 MB
    SATA HD

It seems to stutter on ANY settings only at certain spots at first… but once the game has been going for a bit its fine. It’s kind of like Oblivion when running through the wilderness the first time. It needs to just get things going and cached and then it seems to run fine. The graphics look great all maxed out!

    Also fully supports X360 gamepad.

Maybe I’ll get to work on getting this to work with my Wii controller using Glove Pie.

The developers will never stop creating games that need more power from our system. That´s how they make loadsa $. We buy the latest graphic cards, and in a few months… WTF…new release, new game, and we need to upgrade. This will be 4eva That´s ridiculous, and those mates who said it´s not about graphics, it´s “playability” what matters have my support and acknowledge.. cheers

    April 29th, 2007 | 06:15

Saving seems fine. I completed a crime mission and it saved an arsenic candy i got as reward. It also saved another main storyline mission i did previously “Mary Jane Ride”. The game spawns you in a predefined location when loading, depending on where you left the game previously.

    I have an avg system:intel core2 2.13Mhz, 1 Gig Ram, 7600GS 256MB, OS WinXP x64, SATA HD

Crashed after the building tutorial at 1024×768 with everything low or turned off.
Playable at 800×600 with everything low or turned off, completed 2 missions so far.
Had anti-virus and some processes running in the background, which i should really turn off.
Will watch the movie first before diving into the game.

  45. April 29th, 2007 | 13:08

Error, game won’t start… if anyone has this problem and figured it out, please share the solution… please?

  52. May 1st, 2007 | 05:29

Our dream is to have photorealistic games, perhaps not EVERY game, but most. How big of a boner did you get when you played Half Life 2 for the first time and started shooting boards into the water, watching them splinter and splash. Good physics requires computing horsepower.

Photorealistic and flawless physics will take a few years, but each time a game is released demanding higher req’s, we go demanding more horsepower with our wallets, and we fuel more innovation.

It’s an awesome circle, I’m so glad the video game industry passed hollywood in money making, the next gen games are gonna be sweeeeeet.

Sorry for the nOOb question, but I’m short on sleep… Am I missing the crack somewhere? I don’t see it in the file anywhere and that stupid “make sure you have the right disk in” bullshit keeps popping up when I try to just start the file. None of my safedisk\securerom blocking software is working either. If you could just smack me then tell me what I’m doing wrong, that would be great. Sorry again for the n00b question, been on the scene for over a year…pathetic

Yeah the “crack” is embedded in the DVD image, you have to EXPLORE the dvd from my computer once you have it mounted. You’ll see the Crack folder there.

On another note I NEED A WORKING CRACK. The one provided crashes the game at startup. I’ve read about multiple people having similar issues. PLEASE MAKE RELEASES WITH WORKING CRACKS!

  69. Wickedashtray
    May 4th, 2007 | 02:58

If you’re using a Saitek keyboard you’ll need to unplug it and use a generic one instead. For some reason the Saitek KB’s get detected as game controllers in WinXP rather than a keyboard.

Also, the game cut scenes perform strangely they cut out before they finish. As someone mentioned this is a quickie get-it-out-the-door-ASAP port that they obviously don’t expect to sell a lot. I liked the last “Ultimate Spiderman” a lot better than this obvious POS….

  70. Otto
    May 4th, 2007 | 04:31

Bad news.. Yep I’m using a Saitek Eclipse. Thanks for the tip.

  71. Otto
    May 4th, 2007 | 08:45

I found that the game works if you simply unplug the Saitek keyboard, start the game, and then plug the keyboard back in!

  72. ag
    May 5th, 2007 | 16:10

Unplugging the saitek keyboard worked perfectly, too bad the game is still very buggy and glitchy…a real shame since I more then meet the requirements.

way to play this game with shader model 2.0?

  75. Goujon
    May 6th, 2007 | 02:54

Lex8, NO the game will play on videocards with Shader Model 3.0 support ONLY. So all Radeons before 1xxx and Nvidia before 7600 will never play the game. Need to mention: 6600/6600GT can actually run this game but low performance of those cards won’t allow you to play comfortably.

  76. May 6th, 2007 | 06:51

    COOL

  77. Cartman
    May 6th, 2007 | 10:22

I tried to start the game, but some stupid error report appars about some “Exeption Information Code: 0xc0000005… and it says the following files will be included in this error report:Temp\bc26_appcompat.txt”, so I cant play it!
This is the best part: i have 512 MB of RAM, AMD Sempron 2600+, a ATI Radeon X1650pro video card and it dosent work, and my friend has the same configuration, but NVIDIA 7600GS video card, which is worse than the one I have!
Does anyone have the problem like this one? If somebody does come with a resolution for this bullshit, I would very much appreciate that! THANKS!!!

I tried to start the game, but some stupid error report appars about some “Exeption Information Code: 0xc0000005… and it says the following files will be included in this error report:Temp\bc26_appcompat.txt”, so I cant play it!
This is the best part: i have 512 MB of RAM, AMD Sempron 2600+, a ATI Radeon X1650pro video card and it dosent work, and my friend has the same configuration, but NVIDIA 7600GS video card, which is worse than the one I have, AND IT WORKS ON HIS PC!!!
Does anyone have the problem like this one? If somebody does come with a resolution for this bullshit, I would very much appreciate that! THANKS!!! Sorry for the mistake moment ago!

    @Cartman

I think you have too low RAM. As far as I know you need 1 GB RAM. You sure your friends, who got it working, got lower than 1 GB RAM?

had a bit of a problem with the joystick bug, but once on the first 2-3 missions ive done were fun, was just getin use to swingin around really.

thought it was good to hear a familiar voice as the monolog person thing aswell (bruce something cant remember his surname evil dead dude)

smiley many games have that problem, you would probally be best just typing in on google “pc game blank screen music” or something an reading up.

theres always a fix for it if your pc can run it (runs fine play wise but cut scenes are a little jerky a points)

im runin round the min specs i think, not sure bout my card round the same as my 6600gt but a bit better performace. thats ati for ya

    (rarr big post)
