#44 – Thanks for the recommendation – I had the same problem with the missing d3dx9_32.dll file missing (no idea why I’m missing that file). I ended up downloading it from dll-files.com and unzipping it into the c:\windows\system32 folder, and presto – the game worked – which sucked. I mean, holy crap is this game ever bad. What a waste of bandwidth. I’ve played a lot of games in my time, and it’s been a while since I so quickly identified just how bad a game was. People, stop wasting your time trying to get this game to work – the prettiest part of it is the graphics on the box – the game looks no where near as good and many of the controls don’t work.

i hv the same problem as 43:Chumba when im starting the game i hv small window in right top corner but it turning off realy quickly in SpeedBall2.txt i hv:

Oh my God i can’t play it!! I mean i have p4 at 3Ghz with NVIDIA 5700LE,with 1GB ram and the game goes really really SLOW.I will try to install the updates for HATRED in that version.

I downloaded the detonation version, installed it and copied the crack to the destination folder but i can’t get it to work.when i want to start the game it sais ‘This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect’
plz can anyone help?

So,i´ve downloaded the game. I´ve installed it. I´ve fixed the problems like missing files .dll´s. The game entered fine but it´s very very slow on loading. The controls dont work properly if you dont have a joypad. And i´ve realised that there are some textures missing, like arms of some players, legs (but they still run like nothing has changed). I dont know if it´s a problem of not having the original or not. Or maybe my graphic board (geforce go 7330 512mb).
I´ve desinstalled the game right after all this. Not that i didnt liked the game but i think the releases untill now still dont work properly. I´ll wait for a better release. But i have to confesse that the simplicity of our old speedball 2 is missing a little bit in this one. But has i said before, i will wait for a better release and then concebe a final opinion of it.

the truth about this game…

I d/l it. It looks and plays very poorly. It is the only thing i have ever installed thats made me want to format my drive!

The original was actually a better package. If you’re after a good simple ball game get sensible soccer 2006. Easy on the eye and takes some skill. This is just a mess. Really poor excuse for the bitmap bros to come out of hiding and make such an ugly version. It isn’t actually satisfying in any way to score a goal or even make a pass in this game. I

I hope its a budget title because believe me its not worth it.

Very badly optimised game. Even with cfg tinkering to make it look crappy and low res takes hell of a lot time to load at the start as well as the start of the game.Is it a prob with the detonation cracked version or with the game itself.
