Speed Racer SCREENER XviD-NEPTUNE

posterNEPTUNE is back with a VHS screener, this time it’s Speed Racer. The R5 is said to be released near the end of the month, but you can’t really trust those dates always, so here is a fullscreen VHS screener for now. Quality for this release is decent for a VHS screener and from what I can tell there does not seem to be any interlacing problems. Audio is very clear but does have a very slight background crackle to it.

Plot: The story begins with Speed Racer who is a young man with natural racing instincts whose goal is to win The Crucible, a cross-country car racing rally that took the life of his older brother, Rex Racer. Speed is loyal to the family business, run by his parents Pops and Mom. Pops designed Speed’s car, the Mach 5. The owner of Royalton Industries makes Speed a lucrative offer, Speed rejects the offer, angering the owner. Speed also uncovers a secret that top corporate interests, including Royalton, are fixing races and cheating to gain profit. With the offer to Speed denied, Royalton wants to ensure that Speed will not win races. Speed finds support from his parents and his girlfriend Trixie and enters The Crucible in a partnership with his one-time rival, Racer X, seeking to rescue his family’s business and the racing sport itself.

    Weird… ususally when an xvid or divx screener is upped, it will have VHS screener in the file title..

    Anyways, I will download this, just to watch it, and wait for the DVD for burning

    Unless its a DVDScreener it only says Screener for VHS.

    The sample has a lot of crackle and echo in the sound and for the amount of colour used in this film it makes the quality look worse than it probably is.

    Thanks for this nevertheless and the barage of R5’s and Screeners in the past couple of days, the backlog is finally starting to come through :-)

    I recommend Orbit Download manager, with this not only do you increase your speeds but with rapidshare or any other links you simply highlight the lot, right click and download! soooo much faster :D

    it doesn’t matter what the quality is because it’s a crappy movie anyway, super crap in fact. if you watch it you will just be wishing afterwards you could have that 90mins of your life back

    The way ecoding process works with compression and settings if a source is perfect such as a retail dvd source it can more easily be compressed to the size of one cd than if the source has noise and existng compression artifacts. If there is noise and artifacts such that exist on say a vhs source or cam original souirces the encoding program settings have to be carefully selected or the compressed video is unwatchable. the process can’t tell in a scene that has smoke or rain if there is noise in the picture. Thats why you see 2cd releases with sources such as this, they can’t be compressed down any smaller without the video looking like a cartoon.

    This movie is 135 minutes long so I don’t care what the source, this is going to have to be 2CD. And fullscreen movies (such as this one) are 2CD, thats only because of the amount of pixels per frame. This has 202,752 pixels per frame, while a typical 640×272 rip has 174,080 pixels per frame so you can see why what you say doesn’t exactly apply to this release.

    there is a light squeeling sound coming from it, when i try to watch this movie via my 7.1 prelude & Sen HD650s the sound is terrible.

And why cant hollyweird just follow the plot line of a comic or a story/book…why do they think they can do it one better and then screw it the heck up? Want Proof? The 1st Hulk Movie…Capt America…The Flash…Constintine (was suppose to be MUCH darker)…Ghost Rider…Iron Man…The Day the Earth Stood Still remake…Resident Evil…Silent Hill…Doom, just to name a few.

    But in my opinion on this occasion you are very incorrect in what you are posting regarding pixels per frame and Alien3 is right.
