Species The Awakening DVDRip XviD-BeStDivX

Second new release from BestDivX is a dvdrip of Species: The Awakening. This STV sequel doesn’t really work too good, although there’s pretty hot Helena Mattsson in the main role of Miranda, a girl who was affected by effects of alien DNA and now tries to return back to normal. This dvdrip appears 2 weeks before the retail DVD date, but it’s not really worth it unless you’re totally bored.

College Professor Miranda Hollander’s career is in jeopardy after a mystery blackout leaves her a suspect in a horrible murder. Worse yet, she discovers from her uncle that she is a half-human, half-alien clone! Seeking answers in Mexico, the two begin a battle against hybrids like Miranda herself.

Can someone explain to me why these guys release movies in the form of small archive volumes? Why rar at all? I think these guys are noobs and they don’t understand the bittorrent protocol! LOL! This protocol has been projected with the transfer of very big file in mind!
    BTW: This movie sucks bigtime!

Its you thats the Noob. This is the scene way of releasing things, it was meant to stop any hastle of downloading one large corrupt file. Mostly for newsgroups, but thats where a lot of these files start. Amazingly n00b, not everyone uses torrents, that may surprise you….

these files start on release ftp sites not newsgroups ;)

they wernt built for p2p they were built for the scene

but yes philips14c the lol is on you

I’ve seen releases compressed two times: ZIP then RAR! How stupid is that? In fact they were compressed three time (software kits and DVD RIPS (XVID/DIVX/h.264 etc)are anyway compressed)! LOL! It’s sad that people like you mr. n00b dont seems to get it! Wake up people! The times of floppy disks are long gone! LOOOOL

philips14c: Actually dvds are also already compressed too.
Yes, I don’t see that much of use rarring the files either (getting 99 good and 1 bad rar instead of 1 bad file gives the same result :) ) but I don’t really care if they are rarred or not, getting a program to extract them isn’t very difficult. From what I’ve understood when you copy a rar file it has an error at a bit smaller propability than when copying a text file, I don’t know if that would be true for video files vs. rar files but if it is then maybe that was the answer.

  8. this is gonna suck
    September 23rd, 2007 | 12:42

Oh man. This movie is gonna suck man asshole so hard, i can’t even describe the amount of sucking.

Think i’ll pass this one. I’m not one of those type of fuckin idiots who watch a movie & like it just because there’s some good lookin’ whore in the movie. Same thing with music, i can’t believe ppl are so fuckin stupid that they listen to (and like) some music just because the singer or something is hot (like pussy cat whores – no talent, just whores).

    i’ll pass this one.

I bad file of 700mb against 1 bad rar of 15mb is not the same at all, thats whats good about scene releases, you can always get a good file from somewhere else. Unless the group fucks up, but then a fix usually comes out. Anyone who downloads from Newsgroups and knows the problems with Par files to sort out broken files, will know the reason of why large files need to be broken down.

    Hi folks.
Does anybody know how the sizes of the parts of a rar archive came to pass? Why 14 or 50MiB? Historical reasons, or maybe the max attachment size allowed in a uuencoded file? I vaguely remember something, but then..not quite. Or has it to do with the number of 52 something files, and if then how? All I know, I’ve seen these kinds of archives 20+ years ago, but back then, they were created as floppy images AFAIK. Help! :-)

    (Cool site, btw)

Hell! I’m gonna download this movie just to see that hot girl’s body. Haha!

I believe they break down files in newsgroups to like 50MB each or something is because NNTP servers impose FILE SIZE limits per file. This means that you can’t just share a whole 50-gigabyte file to your peers. That would cost a lot of bandwidth. Instead, you split it into manageable chunks so that other users will have the chance to download the file.

It’s like the upload size limit in RapidShare or attachment size limits in Web mails.

  13. Q
    September 23rd, 2007 | 15:11

it has nothing to do with newsgroups or p2p
i cant remember why a cd is in 15mb parts
but for dvdr 50mb parts are used because they use r00 format and would run out of numbers due to the size
dvd9 is 100mb parts for the same reason they would go past r99

unleased did a dvd9 game a few weeks ago were they ran out of numbers and had to use s00 files

Does anyone know what the RAR file is that is usually included with these and what it is used for when you get a bad file?

I wont even tell you… read your winrar program and you will understand everything!

HINT (Its called a recovery record)

    re: educator
Until now i never succeeded to fully recover a corrupted rar archive especially if that is a part of a multi-volume archive! Anyway you don’t have to worry about corrupted files with bittorrent protocol! I the initial seeder has a good file then everybody will have the same good file! LOL! I never downloaded a corrupted movie file or software and believe me, I’ve downloaded some very big torrents(20GB)! You guy should learn more about bit-torrent! Damn noobs!

    September 23rd, 2007 | 18:05

what a bunch of freakin -noobs-

RAR use, is a scene standard..

Bittorrent and P2P, are NOT scene standard…
so don’t bitch about your free piece of code, if it is
in RAR format.. If you would like to share it in a non RAR
format, then by all means do so….

Dont assume or speculate others knowledge of bit-torrent because your only showing that probably your age and IQ are both present in your Nick

Lots of other ways.. usully much faster to get these things as well other than bit-torrent.. perhaps you might want to open your eyes to other methods but with your attitude the chances of you having axx is not very probable. There are still better ways!

Too bad, you cant repair a damaged archive.. You should learn how.
At some point it could come in handy. Recovery records work great when you understand properly how to use them.

I am finished with this.. I dont usually comment on these things but your post was just like someone set up a dart board and begged for people to throw darts.. and thats what you got! I wont be back to comment on any other silly things you may have to say.

    Cheers

thx for the answers (Still, I’ll try to find out where this 14-15Mb thing originated. I’d guess it’s something “traditional”.)

May I add that this “war” between sceners/release groups/usenet users and p2p dudes or noobs and pros is on the whole veeeeeeeeery annoying. Why are people on either side bitching at each other all the time? Just download and upload your stuff from wherever you feel comfortable, and that is that. These flame wars have never been a good idea, whatever the topic might have been. I am to old for this shit ;-)

recovery records my ass… If the file is indeed corrupted 4 out of 5 you won’t get it to work. In fact the whole hassle to get it going makes re-downloading much easier if you have a fast connection.

  27. costa200
    September 23rd, 2007 | 23:31

    @ 26

Torrents are for people who do not care about being 1337 and actually have something to do with their time rather than sniffing around FTPs and hanging around teen geek secret groups (i.e “the scene”).

With a torrent you get it going with two clics, go to work/school/date and come back to your video/game/whatever. If doing things differently (possibly using some lame ass rapidshare links in your case) rows your boat then so be it. Don’t be calling people n00b when some of us are actually certainly older than you.

    some lame ass rapidshare links????
that’s even lamer than using torrents.

he was referring to the usenet. something you should know, old man. the very first big internet service is still the fastest and safest way to get scene releases.

    @29

I know what he was refering to youngster… But i believe most of these 1337 prepies only like to talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. I want to see who’s the brave one who is going to claim that he never used a torrent just for the sakes of commodity. I don’t belive one bit that thse windoze spoon fed brats refuse the ability to have it easy.

With torrents comming out regularly as fast as usenet info goes i don’t see the big edge of usenet anymore other than the community feel it still has in spaces.

Come as it may, the ones who never used torrents are possibly only the absolute newbies who don’t know how it works yet (until they learn about it because even a monkey can get it working). But then you have all these hypocrites comming on insulting people just because they use one way over another for getting their files. They are as bad as the ones who insult others without actually knowing why things are as they are (i.e. insulting scenes releases for being compressed twice without really knowing why…).

    @31

Well, the movie sucks anyway so we better talk about whatever :)

elitism is part of internet culture, useless to fight against it. just try not to make yourself a target and adopt SOME of the techiques, most of it really IS better in the long run…

and I’M GRATEFUL FOR THE SCENE! THOSE P2P KIDDIES COULD NEVER UPHOLD THAT LEVEL OF QUALITY FOR SO LONG! call me an ass, but that’s the way i see it. as long as there are a bazillion ways to screw up releases and give everybody headaches, THE SCENE IS NEEDED! EXPERIENCE COUNTS!
