The US is turning into police state, the oil is running out, politicians fight for power, some people revolt, the end (as we know it) is coming to an end - and most importantly - everything is just an illusion, a tale, and it doesn't matter how many logical layers you wrap things into, no matter how much sense things make to you, your understanding will always be far from truth, because in an illusion there is no truth. Best movie ever. Most people can't enjoy it, so what? Two many characters, too many subplots. Donnie Darko was a carefully constructed movie and you actually wanted to see where it was going. It made you want to watch it again. The construction of this on the other hand was disjointed, and halfway through the movie I still don't know what constituted the basic plot. It has nothing to do with an open mind. It's just bad storytelling. Anyone who tells you your mind wasn't open enough to stand this film is just masking their love for what in my very humble opinion was a bad film. For those who loved this movie, stop being so defensive. And think -- maybe your mind is TOO open when an incoherent film is enjoyable to you.
