ehh , as far as I can see the whole idea of having a HD media is a waste of time anyway. We will all just download the stuff onto our comp and then run high rez stuff straight to our big ass tvs direct. Our comps are our HD players allready , all blue ray and HDdvd are portable media types. It just doesnt make sence to me to need this technology when we all ready have software for playing the formats and large enough Hard drives within our computers to store the HD films.

Its like allready having a DVD player in your computer , which is outputting to your TV - and going and buying a stand alone DVD player - Crazy.

Currently actually Blu-ray is winning. HD DVD is losing due to the fact that Microsoft developed it haha. Since all the Mac users who dispise microsoft would most likely go for blu-ray instead.

Porn industry isnt really a problem, who buys porn nowadays when the internet goes broadband?... Actually question is. who actually buy things now.... that there is so many pirates around.

I still think blu-ray will win, since most huge franchises here where i live actually is selling Blu-ray not HD-DVD. I have yet to see a HD-DVD on the shelf... either they sell hella good... or they just dont stock it..... Although i have seen heaps of places stocking Blu-ray though.

So i doubt that HD-DVD will win....

I was rooting for Blueray, 'cause the names sounds cooler, until Sony anncounced that the porn business can't use their format. Serious, that was a fucking dub move. HD DVD is going to win the scene now.

and in that pic above, doesn't the disc looks like a zip-disc?

I am more interested in playing 1080p .ts files that are downloaded from usenet and then hooking up the video out to a 1080p tv widescreen. But the problem is finding a cpu powerful enough to play them back smoothly, about what speed do I need ?

LOL, Blu-Ray is fucked because Sony won't let porn companies put their content onto the format - ergo, HD-DVD wins...

There's no way I'm going HD until laser projection or SED sets come out anyway
