This game is just damn hard! I love it! To those that have trouble with the “60hz refresh rate” try to switch on “vertical sync”

ye, its very hard even on “normal” setting, but you can use “very easy” too

I cant run the game, it says that i need to change my refresh rate to 60Hz w/c is already at 60Hz ( using an LCD )

I figure there’s probably tons of other, already-free sidescrollers that aren’t, yaknow, obvious console wannabes (saying it’s “720p” instead of having actual resolutions, and locking at 60 Hz? Ouch). I checked quickly which games I could have installed by default in my OS:

criticalmass – Shoot-em-up a la galaxian
criticalmass-data – Shoot-em-up a la galaxian (data files)
dodgindiamond2 – Little shoot-’em-up arcade game for one or two players
geki2 – Xenon-like vertical shoot’em-up
geki3 – R-Type-like horizontal shoot’em-up
grande – vertical shoot’em-up in the spirit of Xevious
rafkill – vertical shoot’em-up similar to Raptor: Call of the Shadows

I’m sure many of those have Windows ports, and I’m sure Ubuntu’s repos have way more than that (after all, shoot’em-up is a pretty specific and arbitrary search term).
