@ ridiculous. Americans call it soccer, but the rest of the world call it football. So everyone should bow down to the americans and change it just for them because americans rule the world. It’ people like you that give the decent americans – surely, there must be some – a bad name. Does it really matter what it’s called in a different country? Just accept everyone is not american and doesn’t want to be.

Plenty of Australians call football its proper name.

Maybe not the majority, but plenty of people call “soccer” football, especially now that football has undergone massive changes since Australia joined the AFC/Qualified for the WC in Germany.

The majority of the world calls it football, and it should be referred to as football on a site with such a diverse readership.
