Sleaze personified, illusionist Aces (Jeremy Piven) grew up in a world full of card sharks, gamblers, killers and thugs. By 21, he was keeping company with major criminal muscle — headlining sold-out shows at MGM’s main room. After becoming the unofficial mascot for the Vegas mob, Aces started believing his own press and buying into the hype. He decides to showcase his showbiz power and parlay it into a life of crime. He wants to be his own mob boss…the movies make it look so easy. What Aces winds up doing is running afoul of the very organization that had taken him in, and his one-time benefactor, mob power broker Primo Sparazza, becomes his mortal enemy.
Rumor of a $1,000,000 hit fee, fronted by Sparazza, hits the streets and spreads far and wide, attracting an assortment of degenerate psychopaths and assassins - all gunning for the bounty on his head. Apparently, Aces has agreed to turn state’s evidence against his criminal cronies in Vegas…in order to save himself from life in prison. The FBI, sensing a chance to use this small-time con to bring down big-time target Sparazza, places Aces into protective custody, under the supervision of two agents dispatched to Aces’ hideout.
With all eyes on Lake Tahoe, a rogues’ gallery of killers collides in a mad race to the Nomad Casino penthouse suite, where they hope to hit the jackpot and rub out Aces.

im pretty sure i had a dvd screener a couple of months ago, f it was TS is was the best TS i ever seen in my life. and like the first guy said, this movie really aint that good. FACE/OFF is like a ten times better action film!!
I have to agree with you though i havent seen the movie yet. But nothing will prevail me seeing this movie with such a nice cast and my favorite Ryan Reynolds

the dvd screener was great quality already but i’ll still downoad this. Diamond is the best scene group around, no doubt. he’s so good that people are compaining that his quality is too good!

RE: Oversized release
I always thought there was the standard release (700mb) and then the double quality release (2×700mb)
If you have a Big screen/LCD/Plasma on ur media player or a nice 22″ Widescreen LCD monitor (like me :P), the higher res releases are hell worth it.
as for the movie, my friends have told me its awesome and i missed it at the cinemas as it was never advertised over here in AUS and when i found out about it, it already left the cinemas.
Yup, I’ve got a screener copy on my HD from sometime back. Quality was decent, but the film itself whilst not bad, wasn’t great either - 6/10 so a little better than average.
I thought the cast and the acting was decent, its just that the story is a little convoluted(and the film is too long) and you get the feeling that the director didn’t really know what sort of film he wanted to make - a quirky, black comedy with a serious ending??? It was like watching 2 films in one.
The film had a lot of potential, but wasn’t executed as well as it could have been. Worth a watch so you can make your own mind up. Or better still go re-watch Pulp Fiction, Lock Stock or Layer Cake to see how this genre of film is done well. There’s worse ways you can spend 2 hours of your time.
What’s with the people talking trash about this movie? I was expecting nothing of it and now that I’ve watched it I think it’s friggin awesome. Good plot, not you average shit-ass mob/gangster movie, good cast, nice twists (which I for one couldn’t predict, except for one).
Highly recommended.
