This is some sort of new show on discovery, which has to do with explosives and such, because of its title Smash Lab. The experiment they preform in the first episode seems like something the mythbusters would take a challenge too. Well, it’s not just me who made the proper guess of a mythbusters ‘rip-off’ there is some heavy criticism of the show on wikipedia for that. This show will have to start making some changes if it wants to have a second season, but I’ll be trying out this show anyways.
Can the team use the latest aviation break through to prevent a car or bus crossing the meridian and smashing into oncoming traffic? The team tries to re-purpose an amazing technology called an aerated concrete arrestor bed. Watch what happens …

And, after reading the discovery forum comments on this show, I’m not going to download this.. I would give a warning to avoid this show if possible.

Hey lay off Mr. X. I know that his posts suck, and he abuses his power as a moderator of Releaselog, and well, yeah he sucks at giving good comebacks and defending himself, but if anything, at least he’s good at making a complete a$$ of himself. We’ve all got to be thankful of Mr. X for giving us the opportunity to be able to get a good laugh.

I like Mr X, he makes reactions to entertain himself, he does it so obviously it makes it even funnier when people fall for it.
He also makes some people think about things they should be thinking about, be him right or wrong, he knows exactly what he is doing (and it isn’t what you think it is, probably).

the site’s been taken over by genuinely unpleasant nutjobs, used to be full of cool people all helping each other with a good community spirit, this site really is hitting rock bottom with this new crowd
What a slow day in the scene. I guess I can’t complain really, with all the releases the last week and a half, but it’s a shame to see it come to a halt.

I don’t mind Mr. X and the moron comment was fitting because of the constant trolling these guys and girls get.
Studios and advertisers are coming here (among others) and they’re paying attention (since nelsons ratings fiasco). They want your money and are willing to entertain you for it. Seems like a lot of the crap is coming from the dejected losers of the fiasco.

Just finished watching it, I honestly loved it, that Rhino Lining stuff is awesome, its a future material to be used in cars, tanks, everything and the fact that they did a whole episode on it really made me happy as a Discovery Channel fan, this is my opinion.
I’d like to THANK Mr. X for doing such an awesome job, if it weren’t for you I’d have no clue about this show, we need more people like you and if people hate it, then they should clearly go into a corner and sulk.

also, your beef is with the scene. rlslog doesn’t release stuff… duh. they just tell about what is out there… good or not. it’s helpful to post the bad stuff with summaries so we don’t waste bandwidth…

Just so others know, I liked this show a lot. I didn’t find it to be a rip off, of mythbusters at all. I also liked how they handled the challenge, doing several tests and explaining things, all which helped improve the success of the final test.
Ah yes. Saw commercials for it during “sneak peek week” on Discovery. Looks intresting; a lot of cars and busses smashing into each other and blowing up. This, and Some Assembly Required look like promising series.
Discovery sure is scraping the bottom of the barrel.
The problem with these topic-channels is how much stuff they have to pump out, so the quality goes thru the floor. Maybe some of these science channels should join forces and create one channel with just quality material.
This show really sucks. Turned it off after 5 minutes. Its just one long advert for Rhino Lining which doesnt even work that well.
I thought the sneak preview of the show was great! I’ll definitely be tuning in for the regular season, which I think starts Jan. 16th.
well…after watching this show I’ve made up my thoughts..
You people who whine about it being a mythbuster-wannabe show…you’re right…in the sence that, yes they have explosions (like the mythbusters), yes they test it in different ways and come with a conclusion at last (like the mythbusters)…but h*ll, there’s like a million shows doing this already.. Mythbusters is a great show, but that doesn’t mean they can be the only ones blowing stuff up and testing different materials..
Personally I liked the show, though the hosts kinda annoyed me. But no matter how you twist and turn it…it’s explotions FGS!!!…we’re men…we’re supposed to love that sh*t, no matter who provides the talk inbetween the explotions…I for one did!
I’ve been a fan of “MythBusters” for quite a while now (even though I sometimes grow tired of how the show is produced), so I decided to check this one out. What garbage. True, I only saw one episode, but it was enough to not make me want to see another. It almost seemed to be a competition between the team members for who could say the most obvious or inane thing. And the chick “scientist”? Give me a break.
