@22

AVG shows a trojan in ripperfix.exe
Trogan Horse Generic8.XHQ

sorry for the slow reply,
that is a known error in AVG, its being overly sensitive.

SlySoft have an issue with the "Ripper" in AnyDVD, if you do not have AnyDVD already running (ie in the tasktray) then if you open the ripper from it's shortcut in the start menu program folder, then it will not start the ripper, it will only start anydvd.

To fix this i added a small application made by a friend that is called RipperFix.exe, this applications entire purpose in life is to act as a go between for the start menu program folder shortcut and anydvd, when run it will run the Ripper part of AnyDVD if anydvd is running, if not it will ensure anydvd is started first, then it will start the Ripper.

early copies of the ripperfix were packed then compressed and this flagged up in many antivirus, this version is not packed and should not trigger antiviruses, however AVG is always overley sensitive and generates too many false positives.

basically dont worry about it, dont try to remove the ripperfix from the AIO, you will trash the whole thing, if you want to remove it, then delete it after anydvd is installed, you'll find it in the AnyDVD install directory (remember to cahnge the start menu program file shortcut for the ripper if you do!)

hope that explains the warning from AVG

To rip a dvd is simple.

You can either use dvd2one and anydvd, or you can use ripit4me package and the dvd shrink.

place dvd into the dvd recorder and then start the dvd2one program and the anydvd program. go through the motions in the dvd2one progam and when you get to the place where it says "burn" at the top of the screen, change that to "image"
dvd2one will now make a perfect iso of the dvd complete with extras and menues, now all you do is burn it back to a blank dvd using nero. you now have a perfect image of the dvd.

install ripit4me and the three programs it calls for, as well as dvdshrink, place shortcuts to all four programs in the same folder for ease of use. place the dvd into the dvd recorder and click on the ripit4me shortcut and tell it where you want the dvd files to be located. I just make a folder and call it movies and then another and call it movies 2. ripit4me will now rip the dvd and place all the vob's and other dvd files into the folder marked "movies". Once the program is finished doing what you asked, then it will make an ending noise and start dvd shrink, you can now remove the dvd and replace it with a blank dvd and close the ripit4me program. Dvdshrink will go through and get the program ready to encode (usually takes no more then 90 seconds at best) and then ask you if you wish to back up the movie. Say yes and have it backed up in the "movies2" folder. This will shrink the dvd down small enough that it will fit on a regular dvd +/-. After you have clicked on the backup dvd, walk away. The dvd will be encoded and then it will start burning for you. Total time from start to finish...usually 45 min to an hour.

Ah, well, figured it out. Once it says that the trial has expired, click on regester, then open the LICENCE file. Everything should be all set. Hope that helps

Yeah, I'm struggling to figure out the crack too. I run it, its say it's been cracked, but then I open the program and the trial period has run out, prompting me to buy. Any ideas?

Has anyone ran into problems with the crack that comes with this release? Tried it both a XP and Vista machine and says its registered when running the reg key but says I've passed my trial period when I open it.
