Earlier today Vantec posted a p2p release (Here) of Slumdog Millionaire the highly anticipated movie based on 18 year old Jamal Malik who goes on a game show and is one question away from winning a million dollars. Now group GENUiNE bring us the scene release of the movie, wouldnt be surprised if this gets nuked for being stolen from p2p though (Im not saying that it is, just saying it wouldnt surprise me :D ) enjoy!

The film is the story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India’s “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”

But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show’s questions.

    I heard it was 2 cd but i’ve only seen megashares links for it, can’t find it on usenet or torrents.

    To spell it out (for you), there’s that many post about Bollywood movies that its very easy to miss a decent one like this. Consequently, wouldn’t it be better to have a quality over quantity approach re Bollywood movies?

    Guys, if it´s from India it doesn´t mean that it´s a Bollywood film! I think Danny Boyle is garantie of quality (Tranispotting, 28 Days Later, Shallow Grave, Sunshine). So don´t judge the movie before you´ve seen it!

    I see your point but i really dont see the problem, it takes like half a second to scroll past releases you dont like … I dont watch Bollywood movies myself so i dont really post them with exception to this because its got such great reviews and up for oscar nominations

    are there indian language parts that require english subs, and are they hard coded into the rip?

    (there was some spanish in vicky christina barcelona that was released the other day, and those few parts had hard coded subs, and it was a joy not to have to stuff around with subs for a change)

    I’ve read from a few sites that this is actually a film worth watching. Great reviews from all over the net and from a variety of critics.

    It’s a British film written and directed by British people and starring British actors. The lead guy is from the British show Skins and the director directed 28 Days Later, Sunshine and Trainspotting. A movie isn’t a Bollywood movie unless it is created as part of the Hindi film industry by Indian people and starring an Indian cast. Saying that this is a Bollywood movie is akin to saying “What’s with all the Asian movie releases lately?” in the comments for Kill Bill.

    Watched the nogrp release last night and it was a great movie and excellent copy. Only one screener key message at during the opening scenes. Hard-coded english subs are built into the movie.
    On another note, the nogrp release is another example of how the traditional scene is losing control. With their outdated methods and illogical rules, it’s time for an update on how to do things. No more rars. No more multiple CD’s with variable bitrates. No more secret society.

    and NO its NOT a bollywood movie
    its British, but it’s amazing
    definitely has alot of oscar buzz, it’s already been nominated for several golden globes including best picture
    and i agree about the other bollywood movie releases on this site
    i mean most of them suck, there are some good bollywood movies like A Wednesday, no songs no melodrama, just an amazing film

    This movie looks like a good one, but I would rather wait for a better quality version, if this one is too dark/unsynced etc.

    Wow. Just watched this as have to agree it is a very good movie. As for video/audio quality it is just a DvdRip as it doesnt have any blur at the bottom or even black and white. It is just a DvdRip and excellent. Do watch it once guys.

    Sorry I wanted to post in the NoGrp release(the first one posted) as I watched that one. If this is a nuke of the same then it is just the same. Blurrz if you rate any other DvdRip the same then its fine, otherwise I have to say it is 9/9 for both A/V.

    For those of you wondering, this movie is AMAZING. I went to go see it in the theatres, and it is my favorite movie, hands down.

    I know its late for a review, now that the movie has won Oscars and all

    But i had only seen parts of the movie before and found it too disgusting at all times to watch more. Escapism from reality, i can be blamed for that. I accept that also. Am sure slums are as bad as they are shown.
    I refuse to accept the kind of nonsense the protagonists of the movie suffers though, but for the sake of cinematic pleasure, i put it also down to the story.

    What I find after watching this movie is
    1) Its a very ordinary film. If people call Bollywood crap, then this is crap^crap. Imo if reality is t be shown then whats wrong say with Kidnap, Company or Sehar or a host of other movies. This movies shows all that is bad in India. is that real, no, but thats how the west would want to think.
    2) Acting? Give me a break. The child actors were good but even there compare them to Darsheel of TZP and you know who is good.
    3) I frankly didn't find anything stunning in the editing or screenplay Oscar material,, wow

    Music was great,, and i just mean the Jai Ho song. Nothing special otherwise. Kal Ho Na Ho had a better tune and song for me

    If this is what appeals to US, to give them solace that this is the utter depravity of life in India, of slums, well i can understand that in times of recession and job losses, they need it.

    However, for me what this movie has done is that it has shown without a shade of doubt that Oscars are one crap award show, no better than our very own.
    I finish with a quote from chinese newspaper.

    Bi said in an article that the showing of utter poverty in the film acted as some sort of consolation to American viewers hit by the financial slowdown. "To some degrees, it is a kind of encouragement for them not to lose heart," he said.

The film looks at the third world from the viewpoint of a country that had colonised India, he said while referring to its British director.
