I don’t really want to post this, but its a scene release so I did. This documentary, named just like the scene group SKIDROW, is about Pras Michael’s experiment to live on the streets for nine days. I’ve never heard of this movie, probably just as most of you, but if you want it than grab it.
Quality: Well the video bitrate and the audio is great, but the video is full screen so you might have to get used to the different AR.
A documentary that chronicles Pras Michel’s 9-day experiment as a homeless man in downtown Los Angeles.

I think the reason he made this doc was to highlight the issues and adversities that homeless people living on the streets of LA have to live through and deal with everyday. I doubt he went through living on the LA streets for 9 days (I cant even go without my Net for a day) was an attempt to enlighten people not to take the piss out of anybody. The dude’s heart is in the right place and the Doc looks hard hittin and informative I’m defiantly grabbing it. Thanks Marceli and RLSLOG for posting this otherwise id never have even seen it.

Description:
Skid Row is a 50 square block area in downtown Los Angeles where an average of 90,000 homeless and transient people live on any given night. More than just a place–it’s a way of life, a mind set, the last resort for those who have given up on society and, in many cases, themselves. Pras Michel–one third of the successful hip-hop band The Fugees–lived on the streets of Skid Row for 9 straight days and nights as a homeless person. The entire time he and his crew were undercover, using surveillance cameras. His journey is a difficult one, riddled with hunger, exposure to the elements, criminals, drugs and danger. It is also life-changing, as Pras learns not only how to fend for himself, but discovers the dark, very human and, at times, humorous underbelly of Los Angeles.
The reality of why you find so much racism, espcially on the internet and rampantly on irc, is due to the fact that there is an overpopulation of small, scared, pasty faced white boys who feel threatened by the mere thought of their false reality collapsing in on them of not being superior in every way to any other race. So to combat the REALITY that they feel threatened as men, and as human beings, which brings about an anger and rage that can only be alleviated through negativity and destruction. Should maybe go outside the house, meet real people in a face to face scenario, you’d find they are not much different than you and I. But instead, you will sit in your house, where you have locks on your doors, where you feel safe and secure, and you will type on your keyboard until your eyelids cant stay open spitting drivel out of your mouths because your self confidence is on ZERO. When the time comes, and you are in a situation where you can act the way you do online in a real live environment, i guarentee your mouth doesnt dare spit out the things you speak in the sanctuary of your home behind a monitor. Think about it.

if this topic interests you, you have to watch the film Dark Days. It has a nice soundtrack by DJ Shadow, and the director lived underground in a Newyork subway system living with homeless people for two years. It’s simply an amazing feat because he used film under limited lighting and it came out looking amazing.
