Finally a new game comes out that is not ”hello kitty roller skate 4” or ”my ho(r)se part 29”. This actually looks like a decent game, that mixes Homeworld and Supreme Commander. Although graphics do look so-so, it is the gameplay that is important, and I think this title has plenty of that! (hey, don’t blame me for being positive on a game that I haven’t played (yet), I am just glad for the first decent game of the last 2 weeks or something :P )

In the future, the survival of humanity stands on the edge of utter ruin as three powerful factions vie for control of the galaxy. Take command of one of three space-faring races as you work to establish your domination of the galaxy in Sins of a Solar Empire. Through a combination of diplomacy, economic skill, cultural influence, and sheer military might you will establish order over your corner of the galaxy!

    Tani,

    The reason why the maps disappeared after you installed the 1.18 patch is because v1.01 of Entrenchment is not compatible with the files that the 1.18 patch installs. I tried patching the original game up to v1.18 and then trying to run v1.01 of Entrenchment, but the maps disappeared for me as well. If you want to play Entrenchment with the original game patched up to v1.18, you’ll have to use v1.04 of Entrenchment which is why it is so problematic since SKIDROW’s v1.04 crack for Entrenchment doesn’t work.

    Until a working v1.04 crack for Entrenchment is released, you’ll have to use a version 1.15 (other versions such as v1.11 might work as well, but I recommend v1.15) patched version of the original game and play v1.01 of Entrenchment.

    Probably the easiest way to get back to a lower version rather than v1.18 would be just to do a clean install of the game, but there are probably other ways of doing it, like applying the old patch files again. Personally, I would just do the clean install to avoid potential problems.

    strange isn’t it, users are saying it’s broken (Update 1.04)
    however there has been no official announcement that 1.04 is “NUKED”
    in fact i have been to several websites, and they all say it’s fine.

    I’m still in the middle of studying at the moment so i dare not install a game,
    but are people installing the right version of game,
    the original release that came out, then the separate expansion that came out.

    because perhaps if there is a file mismatch then this would cause a mini-dump for sure,

    my question is, as anyone installed the retail version of the game, not the pre-patched, pre-cracked & bundled versions that are available.

    because usually these sites that take care of nuking badly cracked releases and updates are usually on the ball.

    Yes, I can confirm that the link to the crack that Advent posted are the exact same as the original SKIDROW crack for v1.04 of Entrenchment; the MD5 is exactly the same on both files. Sorry Advent, but I do not like to use torrents. Maybe someone else can upload it as a torrent, but Rapidshare should not make you pay for any kind of account as long as you wait 15 minutes between each download.

    It is strange that it seems as though many release sites still show this release as not being nuked, but I still don’t see how it could be a working crack. I have tried every possibility I can think of to make it work, including using the original retail install version of the original game, and although I wasn’t able to use an actual official installer for Entrenchment, I used the original v1.01 files that the Entrenchment installer copies during the install (if anyone knows of a way to use the original official Entrenchment installer, let me know and I will try it).

    I did manage to find a site that has changed the status of this release to nuked, but that still doesn’t completely confirm it:

    Me and countless other people are crossing our fingers for you, SKIDROW. You are the only group which can bring us quality releases, fixing the crack and releasing it to the public will make my (and everyone else’s) dream come true: To play Entrenchment without Bugs and use Mods.

    Any word on a SOSE 1.181 update and crack?

    The 1.18 patch and crack is the first time i have played sose since the last 1.05 off-line patch. (I bought the game but don’t have internet access for the stupid impulse only patches and activation).

    Does anyone know where the 1.18 patch came from originaly as it looks like a profeshional stardock job? In which case they where lying when they said offline patches were not possible for sose!

    If you read the eula you will see that getting the patch anywhere except impulse is illegal, but am sure if you have a valid cd key you could contact stardock and they could send you the excutables for the patch… but you can still get all patches up to 1.15/1.01 on piratebay but for the 1.16/1.02 and 1.17/1.03 i cant find it anywhere and i have have searched A LOT.. for cracks its the same thing too u can get 1.15/1.01 but not the next 2 patches and we are still w8ting for a fix from SKIDROW for the 1.18/1.04 crack

    I don’t have the SOSE expansion, so the current 1.18 crack works fine for my setup.

    The 1.18 crack works perfectly fine, guys, the only one with trouble is the 1.04 entrenchment crack. For the moment you can do what I do: Play the original Sins until SKIDROW releases a fix (hopefully soon, heh).

    Well, guys, it has been a couple of days by now. Does anybody have any news? Apparently, too, Stardock has released a “hotfix” for the entrenchment 1.04 patch. It seems like SKIDROW (the only “scene” releaser I trust in this kind of matter) will not only have to supply us with a fix, but also with this new “hotfix”.

    Oh well, hopefully they can do it.

    i’ve been waiting for ages for a working crack for entrenchment 1.04; i don’t think there will ever be a fix for this since all the talk about this has been silent for weeks now.

    I checked and found that crack are not errors
    i can play entrenchment 1.04 with a mod enable(i use 7 dealy sins 2.5 ALPHA G), edit “EnabledMods.txt” :

    It looks like stardock’s 1.04 patch itself does not work and they released a 1.041 patch hours after releasing 1.04, so i dont think it’s skidrows fault… hopefully they can repack the 1.041 patch and a crack for it soon

    I have found out how to play alone entrenchment v1.04 but must change some datafile T.T,unfortunately most of mods are for v1.041, you must have modification skill to try with it

    Hopefully SKIDROW will repack the 1.041 patch soon.

Sadly, I was unable to make it work (I suck at doing this stuff, even if the guide is so very simple…). Nonetheless, I cannot thank you enough for simplying the steps so much… However, we still haven’t heard anything from SKIDROW, sadly. =/

    1. download and install the latest hotfixes for SOASE and SOASEE [1.181 and 1.041] – recommended; works with 1.18 and 1.04 updates too, although not so recommended;
    2. backup originals, and then covert the following files from \Entrenchment\GameInfo\ to txt [by using ConvertData_Entrenchment.exe]:
    AbilityFlakBurst.entity
    AbilityMassDisorientation.entity
    AbilityPhaseOutFighters.entity
    AbilityTelekineticPush.entity
    AbilityWeaponJam.entity
    3. edit these files, by replacing every mention of:

    the issue comes from the original SOASEE 1.04 update’s .exe file, so SKiDROW crack simply inhibits the same problems, but it is cracked correctly.

    the downsides of this solution are:
    1. aiusetime procedure onlywhenmanytargetsinrange is not available [1.04 update's .exe file didn't have it included, although .entity behavior modifier's used it], so ai and autocasting for jam weapons, flak burst, telekineticpush, massdisorientation and phaseoutfighters will work as it did previously [aka not fine-tuned];
    2. every single mod that uses this procedure will have to be edited separately;
    3. other issues fixed in 1.181 and 1.041 might show up broken, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet; complete list of changes:

    can anyone help me. I tried updating my 1.15 sins to the latest one from goodone and when i try to run it i get sdactivate errors. anyone know whats wrong? bascially what im saying is i need help updating my sins and ent to the latest patches

    brazzle, first you should apply the skidrow patches (1.18 and 1.04 entren), then the 1.181 and 1.041 fixes and next thing to do is replace the files form \Entrenchment\GameInfo\ with the files from goodone and finally paste the 1.18 and 1.04 SKIDROW CRACKS.

    Goodones hotfix requires you to change the files manually those five abilities if i remember right and i just dont have the knowledge on how to do that or the programs rather. is there any way to get those five files without have to change them yourself? im in Dannys boat, i have 1.04 but not 1.041

    thanks brick0 it worked. however the readme files says to use the convertdata.exe but for some reason i cant run it. When i try to run entrench it gives me the mini dump error-”Failed to convert ‘OnlyWhenManyTargetsInRange’ to an enum value.” and also “Failed to Read FileMods-Entrenchment v1.04\Requiem\GameInfo\AbilityImpBoardingParty.entity’. desired read bytes = 1084227584, actual read bytes = 188. anyone have any idea what i’m doing wrong? any assistance would be greatly appriciated.

    1. download and install sins of a solar empire,
    2. download and install soase 1.18 patch,
    3. download and install sins of a solar empire entrenchment,
    4. download and install soasee 1.04 patch,
    5. download and copy soase 1.181 hotfix [just unzip over the original files],
    5. download and copy soasee 1.041 hotfix [just unzip over the original files],
    6. download and copy soase 1.18 and soasee 1.04 skidrow cracks [don't worry that they are a version older],
    7. download and copy soasee 1.041 skidrow 1.04 crack hotfix by goodone [just unrar over the original files],
    8. play and enjoy fully updated game!

    [for mp players: all participants must have the same version of the game!]

    *note: sins of a solar empire entrenchment 1.041 mods require special modding skills, if u have none, then better acquire the game legally, or ask mod’s author to provide u with .entity files free of ‘OnlyWhenManyTargetsInRange’ function [which is only available in original 1.041 .exe, still uncracked].

    i might be willing to modify files for u, but u will have to manage on how and where to contact me, and to wait for my reply, which may not come for a while [it's much better to buzz the mod's author, for sure].

    Goodone, how do you go about changing those files from your hotfix? i currently have 1.18 and 1.04 and they both work fine as far as i can tell but id like to use mods. i just cant figure out how to get them updated further. thanks in advance

    i use convertdata_entrenchment.exe, striping .entity files from ‘OnlyWhenManyTargetsInRange’ procedure, but i am sorry, i can’t go deeper than that in explaining, since it would be like teaching modding.

    anyway, it’s not so hard, if u are willing to research a bit. recheck soase’s official forum for modding help and tools, and that will surely get on the right way.

    i can play soasee 1.041.

    how? with 1.04 skidrow’s .exe version and 1.041 data files [hotfixed].

    there is very little change in 1.041’s .exe over 1.04’s .exe, except ‘OnlyWhenManyTargetsInRange’ procedure [u can check ironclad's changelog to confirm that], and when u get that out of the picture, soasee works just fine. that’s why i am sharing hotfixed files in the 1st place.

    this difference is not worth mentioning at all, but when trying out mods, in which case you should be aware of this fact, and mod them accordingly [or use a version for 1.04, since they use no 'OnlyWhenManyTargetsInRange' procedures, or at least they shouldn't]. i already tried a few mods myself – no troubles there.

    hopefully, now, nobody else will repeat this question again.
