Finally a new game comes out that is not ”hello kitty roller skate 4” or ”my ho(r)se part 29”. This actually looks like a decent game, that mixes Homeworld and Supreme Commander. Although graphics do look so-so, it is the gameplay that is important, and I think this title has plenty of that! (hey, don’t blame me for being positive on a game that I haven’t played (yet), I am just glad for the first decent game of the last 2 weeks or something

im afraid sins is a better game than for example turok. the devs say that this is something between TA and homeworld (TA is a sort of legend in rts world) So im definately downloading it and if it is what they promise, i will most certainly shell out money for it. You see, not everybody is a consoletard whos attention span is .3seconds.
A bit OT but egosoft is working on the next chapter for X3 also (was on the news yesterday i think) so this year doesnt look so bad after all.

The universe/galaxy/space/whatever is easier on your harddrive than fully rendered 3d worlds, which take up tons of GBs, thats why it isnt a massive download

This is an amazing game by an amazing company. They never put that nasty invasive copy protection in their games. Do yourselves a favor, download it, play it, love it!! Then BUY it so you can love the Multiplayer as well!!
I played it. It sucked :/ im not into space games. Too slow and too boring. The game even auto-shoots for you… so i tried makroing around the ships, without luck.
never heard anything of this but after playing around the last 3 hours with it (i just wanted to take a look into) i must say : AMAZING !!! this is really one of the best RTS games ive ever played .. its neraly similar to supreme commander ,just another location

This game is an absolute blast and unbelievably scaleable! Reminds me of the good old days of Masters of Orion 2! Highly recommended.

i actually thought this game reminded me of space empires…
RTS games are the most dire of them all, the only game worse then a [Really Tiring Sh**] is a football management simulator, I seriously can’t wrap my head around the fact that people actually like theese games, Warcraft, Starcraft, World in Conflict… Hell I downloaded WiC and got bored with it half way through the first mission, the training mission was a struggle but I knew that’d be boring. Thought I’d give the real levels a go, and it was a strain just to do that, I mean seriously, I’ve had more fun cutting away the board games off of cereal boxes and playing them.
I know I know, to each his own, sure… some people collect stamps, but if I was gunna play a game like this, It’d be eve, atleast then friendships you make are worth staying on the game for even if the game sucks itself.

Bought this game off Stardock, indefinitely worth it,unit AI is better than many RTS, so you don’t have to babysit every unit all the time, graphics scale pretty well, pirates who you can essentially bribe to attack people, resourcing that works like TA/SC, combat like HW, no copy protection (so no searching for a cd or a nocd), camera zoom like SC, simple “stock market” where you can buy and sell raw materials, and the prices change when you do so. Highly recommended.

Hmmm, I got lots of “Error reading from file” errors installing, but picking the “Only install for me” option seemed to fix it.
To the guy that says universe at war is only in german no it aint cause i dl the game about 2-4 months ago and enjoyed a rather english speaking and text based game.

Wow this game is definitely better than described here…
I’ve playing a match for over 5 hours now and it doesn’t seem to end before another 3 hours pass…
It’s more about controlling territories and secure ressources than fighting – well, controlling territories and securing ressources will sooner or later lead to a fight – but the primary thing here is to build up a working infrastructure with a good defense.
The researching is quite interesting and time-consuming as well. Sure you can beat one(!!) enemy faster than I do on the largest map available (yea it’s “quite” large…) – but as I mentioned before, I tried to play the game as it should be played. I have given the game time to prove itselfs worthiness – and it’s at least worth a try!

Quick review for you guys.
The game concept is pretty decent, expanding across space system by sytem. Eliminating other races as they come, game UI is ok.
Downside – The space models for each race look ‘blocky’ and its like the devs didnt put much effect into making them look and feel futuristic or even the way they are meant to look for each race.
Also there is no single player missions, its all just played in skirmish modes throught the games.
Personally, not worth buying but worth the download imo. 6/10

This game is boring. Takes hours to play a game and the combat is slow as hell. I can’t believe anyone would compare this to Supreme Commander. Aside from the zoom, this is nothing like Supreme Commander.

In case it hasn’t been mentioned….if you like this game after trying it please consider purchasing it. Stardock are self-funded/self-published and make great games. More importantly, they are the good guys. They took a stand against the industry by publicly announcing that they refuse to use garbage like Starforce and that they would not “treat their customers like criminals”. People who buy get tons of extra content and full support by the devs themselves.

I uploaded the 1.11 Patch to an One-Click Hoster. Actually it’s the whole Gamefolder after patching to 1.11. So install the game, patch it to 1.05 (unknown if necessary, just do it) and after that copy the files into your gamefolder and overwrite the old ones.
Scanned for Viruses by two ppl, nothing found and both confirm that it is legit.

Well Mytre, there is no other good trainer besides the cheathappens ones. What do you expect from CH anyway ? Make good trainers, sit there spending hours figuring things out, releasing new updates everytime patches are released, and all this just for free ?

Sins of a Solar Empire.exe and Entrenchment.exe both look up and license file for authorization and if that fails they call on SDactivate.exe-which, after you input the correct data, generates a license file on your computer through the internet.
Don't know why it hasn't been cracked yet, as from the looks of it, it looks quite simple for experience crackers to do. especially if they can crack that crap securom

That 1.13 update someone uploaded is just the exe… and it's exactly the same exe as 1.12 but with the respective number. you have to upload all the files that were updated to 1.13 in your installation folder, just like the previous updates that were uploaded, like this one i have:

Well TheDude, you can have some self-control and not play it. You don't have the right to play the game. But my excuses are no better.
I own Sins, love it. However, I feel their need to release 3 micro expansions is just milking the cow..funding their next game. I would rather wait until they release a GOTY version with all expansions or just a separate expansion pack (ideal). So, that's my reason for pirating it. Not because I want to cheat them, etc..but because I simply want to try it. See-I have no problem with original Sins-and if I buy this and to only find it doesn't add that much…I'd be pissed at myself for not waiting for the expansion release.
Either way, I still love Stardock/Ironclad. And I eagerly away Stardock/GPG's new game Demigod due the end of this month (for europe, april in america)

Yes, that's what the crack is for. However, there is no crack for 1.15 original Sins of a Solar Empire. Just entrenchment.
So get the 1.15 I gave, then the Entrenchment crack. But if you patch you won't be able to play original Sins unless you do what I do: one installation of 1.2 Sins and one installation of 1.15 sins + entrenchment

For upload your own sins patch :
Use altiris SVS for record change in this folder, compress folder and upload it.
If you want to use a another method : copy your folder, patch the other, compare file by CRC, compress them and upload it.
I hope that other people can upload the next patch because I don't have entrenchment and can't upload update !

thanx to all who uploaded the patches i finally figuered out hoe to make entrenchment work:
1.u must have sins 1.15 for entrenchment..so u need 1.05,1.11,1.12 & 1,15
–1st run setup of 1.15 patch normally
–as for the rest of the patches each one of them contain a group of folders..take whats inside the folders & put it inside the same folders in the game folder (eg:copy whats inside Gameinfo folder in the patch & paste it in the Gameinfo folder in the game path)..when u asked to overwrite pick yes..
NOTE:if u dont have entrenchment dont use the 1.15 patch bcos Sins will start asking for activation
–now install entrenchment & crack it…Enjoy

Every time they release a patch, it needs a crack. I doubt you'll get the patches anytime soon, if ever.

I think I read that they are planning to release the second expansion this summer, so I guess the guys who have SOASE Vanilla 1.16 & Entrenchment 1.02 will not put those updates on torrent until then, when obviously you will need latest updates to play the second exp.
Also there will be updates to Vanilla 1.17 & Entrenchment 1.03, you can read this on their forum.

I have Sins of a Solar Empire and Entrenchment and the latest patch on Impulse but it would do you no good if I uploaded it. You still have to find someone to crack it or you won't get to play it.

Is anyone else having a problem with a mini-dump error whenever they try to start up Entrenchment v1.04 with SKIDROW’s crack? I finally got v1.18 and v1.04 of SKIDROW’s updates and cracks, and v1.18 of the original game works fine, but whenever I try to run v1.04 of Entrenchment using SKIDROW’s crack, I get that mini-dump error? Has anyone managed to play SKIDROW’s crack of v1.04 of Entrenchment without getting the mini-dump error? I’ve tried just about everything from updating the original game straight from v1.0 to v1.18 and then installing Entrenchment and updating it, to updating each version incrementally, and I’ve even tried using SKIDROW’s v1.15 update and SKIDROW’s original Entrenchment add-on installer, as well as an archive I got with the Entrenchment files. I would love to get SKIDROW’s v1.04 of Entrenchment working on my computer, so if anyone has gotten/gets it to work, please let us know!

When you updated to version 1.18 what version were you on before? The v1.18 updater is supposed to be cumulative so it should work on any version, but I remember having a problem with no maps showing up when I had a mismatch with some of the file versions and my cracked exe version number. I’d recommend doing a clean install of the game by uninstalling it, then installing it again, then run SKIDROW’s v1.18 updater, then copy of SKIDROW’s cracked exe and it should work fine. I tried doing those exact steps just before writing this and all of my maps showed up. I hope that helps.
I sure hope that someone makes a working crack for v1.04 of Entrenchment. I’ve gotten so used to the extra features on Entrenchment that playing the original game is almost painful. I WANT MY STARBASES!
I forget to say that I play only to entrenchment. That is theses maps that disappeared after the patch 1.18 of soase. If I laucnh solar empire, I have still the maps but, like you, I will play only entrenchment ( and hope too for a good crack-patch 1.04 of entrenchment )

Do you mean that when you play entrenchment you still have all maps after the patch 1.18 of solar empire ?

The reason why the maps disappeared after you installed the 1.18 patch is because v1.01 of Entrenchment is not compatible with the files that the 1.18 patch installs. I tried patching the original game up to v1.18 and then trying to run v1.01 of Entrenchment, but the maps disappeared for me as well. If you want to play Entrenchment with the original game patched up to v1.18, you’ll have to use v1.04 of Entrenchment which is why it is so problematic since SKIDROW’s v1.04 crack for Entrenchment doesn’t work.
Until a working v1.04 crack for Entrenchment is released, you’ll have to use a version 1.15 (other versions such as v1.11 might work as well, but I recommend v1.15) patched version of the original game and play v1.01 of Entrenchment.
Probably the easiest way to get back to a lower version rather than v1.18 would be just to do a clean install of the game, but there are probably other ways of doing it, like applying the old patch files again. Personally, I would just do the clean install to avoid potential problems.

however there has been no official announcement that 1.04 is “NUKED”
in fact i have been to several websites, and they all say it’s fine.
I’m still in the middle of studying at the moment so i dare not install a game,
but are people installing the right version of game,
the original release that came out, then the separate expansion that came out.
because perhaps if there is a file mismatch then this would cause a mini-dump for sure,

Yes, I can confirm that the link to the crack that Advent posted are the exact same as the original SKIDROW crack for v1.04 of Entrenchment; the MD5 is exactly the same on both files. Sorry Advent, but I do not like to use torrents. Maybe someone else can upload it as a torrent, but Rapidshare should not make you pay for any kind of account as long as you wait 15 minutes between each download.
It is strange that it seems as though many release sites still show this release as not being nuked, but I still don’t see how it could be a working crack. I have tried every possibility I can think of to make it work, including using the original retail install version of the original game, and although I wasn’t able to use an actual official installer for Entrenchment, I used the original v1.01 files that the Entrenchment installer copies during the install (if anyone knows of a way to use the original official Entrenchment installer, let me know and I will try it).
I did manage to find a site that has changed the status of this release to nuked, but that still doesn’t completely confirm it:

Any word on a SOSE 1.181 update and crack?
The 1.18 patch and crack is the first time i have played sose since the last 1.05 off-line patch. (I bought the game but don’t have internet access for the stupid impulse only patches and activation).
Does anyone know where the 1.18 patch came from originaly as it looks like a profeshional stardock job? In which case they where lying when they said offline patches were not possible for sose!

If you read the eula you will see that getting the patch anywhere except impulse is illegal, but am sure if you have a valid cd key you could contact stardock and they could send you the excutables for the patch… but you can still get all patches up to 1.15/1.01 on piratebay but for the 1.16/1.02 and 1.17/1.03 i cant find it anywhere and i have have searched A LOT.. for cracks its the same thing too u can get 1.15/1.01 but not the next 2 patches and we are still w8ting for a fix from SKIDROW for the 1.18/1.04 crack

I don’t have the SOSE expansion, so the current 1.18 crack works fine for my setup.
The 1.18 crack works perfectly fine, guys, the only one with trouble is the 1.04 entrenchment crack. For the moment you can do what I do: Play the original Sins until SKIDROW releases a fix (hopefully soon, heh).
Well, guys, it has been a couple of days by now. Does anybody have any news? Apparently, too, Stardock has released a “hotfix” for the entrenchment 1.04 patch. It seems like SKIDROW (the only “scene” releaser I trust in this kind of matter) will not only have to supply us with a fix, but also with this new “hotfix”.
Oh well, hopefully they can do it.
i’ve been waiting for ages for a working crack for entrenchment 1.04; i don’t think there will ever be a fix for this since all the talk about this has been silent for weeks now.

It looks like stardock’s 1.04 patch itself does not work and they released a 1.041 patch hours after releasing 1.04, so i dont think it’s skidrows fault… hopefully they can repack the 1.041 patch and a crack for it soon
I have found out how to play alone entrenchment v1.04 but must change some datafile T.T,unfortunately most of mods are for v1.041, you must have modification skill to try with it

1. download and install the latest hotfixes for SOASE and SOASEE [1.181 and 1.041] – recommended; works with 1.18 and 1.04 updates too, although not so recommended;
2. backup originals, and then covert the following files from \Entrenchment\GameInfo\ to txt [by using ConvertData_Entrenchment.exe]:

3. edit these files, by replacing every mention of:

4. backup the original game .exe files, and copy the 1.18 and 1.04 SKiDROW cracks;
5. play the game.
the issue comes from the original SOASEE 1.04 update’s .exe file, so SKiDROW crack simply inhibits the same problems, but it is cracked correctly.
the downsides of this solution are:
1. aiusetime procedure onlywhenmanytargetsinrange is not available [1.04 update's .exe file didn't have it included, although .entity behavior modifier's used it], so ai and autocasting for jam weapons, flak burst, telekineticpush, massdisorientation and phaseoutfighters will work as it did previously [aka not fine-tuned];
2. every single mod that uses this procedure will have to be edited separately;
3. other issues fixed in 1.181 and 1.041 might show up broken, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet; complete list of changes:
