Here is a classic movie just released on BluRay, i still haven’t watch this yet, i got a normal 1.5gb one waiting for me. Whenever i get the time im gonna watch it. The film is primarily based on three of Miller’s works: “The Hard Goodbye” focuses on a hulking man who embarks on a brutal rampage in search of his one-time lover’s killer; “The Big Fat Kill” focuses on a street war held between a group of prostitutes and a series of mercenaries; and “That Yellow Bastard” focuses on an aging police officer who protects a young woman from a grotesquely disfigured serial killer. The movie stars Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Clive Owen, Devon Aoki, Alexis Bledel, Michael Clarke Duncan, Rosario Dawson, Benicio del Toro, Michael Madsen, Powers Boothe, Josh Hartnett, Jaime King, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke, Nick Stahl, Elijah Wood and Rutger Hauer, among others.

“Sin City” is infested with criminals, crooked cops and sexy dames, some searching for vengeance, some for redemption and others, both. The film incorporates storylines from three of Miller’s graphic novels including ‘Sin City,’ which launched the long-running, critically acclaimed series, as well as ‘That Yellow Bastard’ and ‘The Big Fat Kill.’ Where Hartigan, a cop with a bum ticker and a vow to protect stripper Nancy. Marv, the outcast misanthrope, is on a mission to avenge the death of his one true love, Goldie; there’s also Dwight, the clandestine love of Shelley who spends his nights defending Gail and her Old Towne girls from Jackie Boy, a dirty cop with a penchant for violence.

    Blu-ray 720p rip? I don’t think so! This movie hasn’t been released on Blu-ray yet. I checked all over online and there is nothing about Sin City being on Blu-ray now nor in the near future. This is probably a HDTV rip…

    Hmmm…for about half a year now, I’ve had an absolutely gorgeous 720p copy of Sin City simply labeled “Sin City – Internet.mkv.”

    Nothing new for me here, I guess. Enjoy the movie, it looks absolutely stunning in HD.

    This is completely worthless. The runtime (124 min) implies that this is the wussy version. Why would anybody even be dumb enough to settle for this, when the unrated, extended director’s cut is the one to get (147 min).

    This is just garbage. Director’s Cut or no movie at all – that’s how it goes with ALL movies. the DC is the “real” version, not the wussy theatre version that was cut shorter so peoples bladders won’t bust when they have to sit longer in theatres (unless they use a piss bag to urinate in cognito in the theatre).

    Long story short: unless you are a wussy who is afraid of busting your bladder, get the DC. That goes for all teh movies, you piss bags.

    Sin City in 1080p has been on demonoid for 3 months now. I have downloaded and its real, and definitely is 1080p. So I am not really sure what all you other guys are going on about.

    @17 have you actually seen the movie? the extended cut is not one long film. Sin City covers 4 novels, the theatrical cut is a mix of the 4 books into one film, the directors cut is the 4 stories told seperately and the stories have been extended slightly (I have it on DVD), its kind of like watching 4 seperate short films. Its probably more wussy watching the directors cut as people with weak bladders get plenty of opportunity for relief.

    @20, both versions are fine, its down to taste. If you want a long flowing film then the theatrical version does the job, if you’re a fan of the books you might prefer to watch each story told seperately as they are even closer to the books than the theatrical version, due to the extended stories

    And this is where the movie industry fails. I have been waiting for this Blu-ray and want to buy it. But it is not available yet. So should I wait some more until it is or treat myself on this version?

    I’ve had the 720p version for a few weeks now. Looks absolutely amazing. My rig is a bit slow to handle 1080p but I’m sure that one would look great.

    Hard to believe there was no film shot for this movie, it was shot all digital. Rather inspiring if ya ask me.

    If you like this, check out Frank Miller’s The Spirit coming out this christmas. Looks just as good.

    Think I might be able to help a bit with that Kale…

    While what we are downloading here are indeed NOT true HD movies, think of them of the DivX equivilent to DVDs. So what DivX is to a movie on DVD disks, then .mkv HD is to a movie on BluRay disks.

    Basically HD movies are digital files of films that are mastered in a much higher screen size. Normal DVD movies are about 720 x 480 pixel and HD movies are about 1920×1080 or 1920×800 depending on the widescreen aspect that the movie is shot in. The 720p files are a scaled down version of the HD 1080 size. Something like 1280×720, again depending on the aspect it was shot in, and this presents a nice middle ground and can easily compressed and fit onto a standard blank DVD. Some HD movies here are compressed at a higher quality, and intended for a dual layer disk that can hold 8 gigs of information. Some HD rips ( 9 gigs and higher ) were never intended to be stored on a consumer blank disk and are archived on your computers hard drive.

    HD movies are the answer to all those new LCD and Plasma sets that we are now buying. On our old 27″ Sony Trinitrons, DVDs looked great because those sets were 720×480. But when you watch a DVD on a 1920×1080 set, the image falls apart, hence the need for movies to be mastered in a much higher frame size.
