Simon The Sorcerer 4 CLONEDVD-PROCYON

PROCYON released their 116th release a while ago: a CloneDVD of Simon The Sorcerer 4. This adventure is slightly mysterious despite its legendary predecessors - it was originally released almost a year ago in Germany, but the English version hasn’t been published yet. Now it seems happening, but the website of official distributor still doesn’t show any info about the English version. Well, this is a real deal so let’s not overanalyze and just download. Be sure to carefully read through the NFO about the installation process.

Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens is set some years after Simon’s last adventure in the Magic World. During a fight over the TV remote with his younger brother, Simon is knocked unconscious. In the dream that follows he has a vision of Alix, his lady-friend from the Magic World. She tells him a “Simon” doppelganger is causing all kinds of trouble in her world. After Simon wakes up he doesn’t know what to make of it. Was it just a dream or is there more? He wastes no time at all and fires up his magic wardrobe to get to the bottom of it.

In “Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens” players take control of the witty sorcerer during his new quest in the Magic World. In this point and click adventure the story unravels when Simon travels around and interacts with dozens of characters, solves puzzles and brings order to the chaos his double has caused.

    out of 16 comments here, 7 of them are offtopic (and not just slightly - untracable has WHAT to do with STS? eve online, scrubs?).

    Can people take that stuff to the relevant topic, if their isn’t one then either wait for one, or contact the staff to start one.

    Back to the topic - I loved STS1 and 2, never played the 3rd but it looked absolutely awful. This seems more in keeping with the first so I’ll grab it sometime.

    The first 2 games were great, but I don’t like the 3d art style so much. I will give this one a go to see if it is better than the 3rd one. I wish adventure games like this were still made in 2d. Sam and Max is another series that was much better with 2d graphics.

    I hope they removed the copy protection. There is a sequence after about an hour of playing after which the game crashes if it’s a pirated copy. At least that is what kept me from playing this game almost a year ago. It’s a good looking adventure though, some really stupid jokes but hey, it’s Simon.

    @25, cheers for the links, but i grabbed it some time ago, i dont rely on rlslog for links, but it is nice to have the heads up on a release. the scrubs series break had been too long…

    @17, the point of that post was to request the relevant post so i was contacting the appropriate people… you only mentioned STS briefly so i couldnt accuse you of being a hypocrite, but i just did, though i realise that this comment is totally off topic as i dont care for simon the sorceror.

    Please someone tell me that they managed to get Chris Barry back to do the voice???? I just completed the Amiga CD32 version again last week and always found the sequels to be boring without Chris’s voice…

    Nope. No Chris Barrie. So far I’ve been performing generic fetch and carry tasks for really annoying characters that have none of the humour of the first game. They just come off as being jerks rather than amusing magical characters. I don’t remember in STS that the characters were particularly fairytale like they are in this one either. It was more fantasy in the spirit of the Hobbit than Little Red Riding Hood?

    I wont write it off yet, but it’s been tedious so far, yet I loved the first two.

    And yeah. American accents galore.
