Silk 2007 LiMiTED DVDRip XviD-SVD

A limited romantic drama Silk is now available in the dvdrip from group SVD. The lineup for this film is interesting mainly for fans of Keira Knightley, but there are some other good actors in the cast as well. If you’re wondering, this isn’t a Chinese movie named also Silk, but a Canadian production. The retail date for DVD is February 26, so you get it with a nice time advantage. Quality is average, I can imagine it on 2 CDs with AC3 sound, the film is fairly lengthy.

Based on the Alessandro Baricco’s novel this is the story of a married silkworm smuggler, Herve Joncour, in 19th Century France who travels to Japan to collect his clandestine cargo. While there he spots a beautiful Japanese woman, the concubine of a local baron, with whom he becomes obsessed. Without speaking the same language, they communicate through letters until war intervenes. Their unrequited love persists however, and Herve’s wife Helene begins to suspect.

    To 11 (The Real Jews), no it wasn’t. That was the 2006 movie, Silk. This only went to festival in September of 2007.

    Kiera has over 30 movies to her credit(http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0461136), and more on the way.
    IMHO she is talented (not that I am a big fan), but I did like her in Pirates. I watched this vid, and though not my type of movie, the females in the room liked it.

    All the subtitle download sites either don’t have the 2007 movie listed (just the 2006 Chinese one), or they have this movie listed, but the single subtitle file they offer as being for this film is actually for the 2006 Chinese film, and hence utterly useless. It’s really frustrating.

    If SVD ripped this, there’s gotta be subs available to them, at least. But if so, why was it distributed without subs?
