the problem is that the "fixed" [Sibelius 6] file has no "execution" bit set.

just do what the instructions say (replace the original file in
/Applications/Sibelius\ 6.app/Contents/MacOS/

then open a terminal and execute:

chmod 755 /Applications/Sibelius\ 6.app/Contents/MacOS/Sibelius\ 6

Hello everybody! Program works just fine in MacOSX with the crack overthere. Here's what you have to do to get it working:

1. install Sib6 normally
2. open the "crack" file named "Sibelius 6" in textEdit or in any plain text editor that you like to use. You will see it's text and some symbols there... don't add or edit this one in any way or it won't work.
3. go to you Apps folder, search for the new installed Sibelius6, right-click (or ctrl-click) to see menu and look for "show package content". Click on this option.
4. go search for "contents>MacOS>Sibelius 6" file (that is marked as Unix file) and go ahead open it with your text editor also.
5. then... here's the trick. Just copy the whole text from the CRACK and go replace the text in the unix file... save this last one (just go clickin on save, don't have to change the format of it) and voila! you got you Sib6 working ;)

Hopes this help everyone above me and the new comers.

Cheers!

@Hinzy
I replaced the file and now its opening, but it's asking me to enter a serial code. Do i have to download the noPE version to crack the serial?

@hinzy, had the same problem as you, thanks for posting the walkthrough. I'm just doing it now, But when you say to copy the sibelius 6 that you say thinks its a text file, do you mean the LineZer0 replacement one?

@George Found this one which did the trick:
It may be that your file is fine, it's just not executable. Try this:

1. Use TinkerTool or Wizzard to make you're invisible files visible.

2. Make a copy of 'bash' which is in your 'bin' folder which you can now see in 'Macintosh HD' (or whatever your hard drive is called)

3. Paste this to your Desktop

4. Open it with Text Edit, and delete all the text

5. Open the Sibelius 6 file (the one that thinks it's a text file)

6. Select all the text (cmd-A) then copy (cmd-C)

7. Paste into your empty 'bash' file

8. Save it (cmd-S)

9. Rename the file Sibelius 6

10. Now paste this into /Contents/MacOS as per the intsructions with the torrent.

Now you should be good to go! (Assuming the file isn't corrupted...) FYI the file should be 35.7MB.

Hope this helps!

I'm having the exact same problem as Hinzy.

I've been searching google and my computer for the location of the registration file for Sib6. I cannot find it anywhere. The peculiar thing is, every time I delete sibelius 6 and try to re-install it, it states that it will take up no room on my hard drive. I am now trying to use the program "Permanent Eraser" to delete the app, but I have no idea if this will affect it.

Any help would be very, very appreciated.

Hi hinzy, I'm guessing (as you probably are too) that the key for you now is getting Sib6 off your system as thoroughly as possible -- and I don't have any special insight into how to do that (so I think your googling is as good as mine on that front). SOMEWHERE on your machine is a registration state for Sib6 that needs to get off your machine before this version can work. If it's not in the plist, it's somewhere...

@June august 1st, 2009 | 23:37, I've followed the instructions but only too late.
I first tried with a key generator, for version 5.x . This does not fully work however. Now I'm stuck because just replacing the file does not work anymore. Any ideas?
