Few days ago NoPE released Sibelius v6 for windows. Here’s release by Lz0 of full DVD (with additional content) for both platforms – Windows & OSX.

    cheers. the dvd has been around for a few weeks though. I got it from demonoid and have been using it fine with the nope crack.

    Tyr: I haven't dl'd this one, but in general for past Mac versions of Sibelius, you have to use a keygen (the keygen only runs on Windows). Is there a keygen included in this? I bet there is, so look for that and borrow your friend's Windows machine one time if you need to.

    FYI, this file (credited to lz0) has shown up on a good Mac-specific tracker, which is how I came here by googling — in other words you're guaranteed there is some way to use it w/ Mac.

    As far as I can tell there is no keygen, mac or otherwise; there are two files you are supposed to replace the application file with and the one without the exe (which I'm assuming is the mac version) doesn't replace that file or run as an application.

    By the way, I tried the Sibelius 5 keygen and it doesn't appear to work. You get a message that says that it's unable to register at this time, it doesn't say "Wrong code, cheater!". But I'm guessing it amounts to the same thing unless I might be doing something wrong that I could hopefully fix.

    I mean a private site for only Mac sw, where I found the file (I'm just here on this site because I googled the name of the cracker, lz0, out of curiosity to see if s/he had done a crack of another audio app I want and can't find).

    If the file you got on this site is the same as the one I got, it should work. One thought occurs, are you trying to replace the WHOLE app with the replacement file? (You need to right-click [Ctrl+click] on the Sibelius 6 app and choose show package contents, to see its contents, then you replace the file called "Sibelius 6" that's inside /contents/MacOS/ with the file of the same title that's included in the Crack folder)

    Here is the whole contents of the nfo file in the version I dl'd:

    "Instructions:

    1. Install Sibelius
    2. Update to 6.01
    3. Replace /Applications/Sibelius 6.app/Contents/MacOS/ with the K'ed version
    (Sorry not sure how you do it on windows)

    All thanks to lz0 and the fine folks over at msj for this release."

    That is indeed what I tried to do, thanks for the tip!
    Except that it doesn't work for me :(
    When I double-click on the package containing the replacement, the file appears to open (the icon swoops out toward me) but nothing happens.
    Good thing I made a backup copy of the application, which still worked (I've since replaced the replacement with the original from the copy)

    Here are the steps I went through
    1. Install
    2. Try to replace the whole package, not knowing any better, gave up on that.
    3. Open Sibelius 6 using my Sib 5 cracked SN
    4. Use Sibelius 6 for a few days in hopes that a solution will be found before my 14 days are up
    5. Try keygen with my Sib 5 cracked SN, doesn't work
    6. Update to 6.0.1
    7. Repeat step 5
    8. See your answer
    9. Try and fail to replace file within package.

    Maybe I need to reinstall and replace the program after step 1 (or after updating to 6.0.1 after step 1)? I would try this except I don't know how to perform a genuine uninstall. Or might this not even be the solution?

    Yeah, I would back up your working Sib5 app, then get it and the current Sib6 off your system and start from scratch. All this will only work from scratch, I'm assuming.

    Yeah thanks I'm sure that will work. Do you know how to fully uninstall it? Will deleting the packages in the applications folder work or do I need to somehow take off all the libraries and hidden things like in a windows Uninstall program?

    My approach would be to delete the app and delete its plist file called com.sibelius.sibelius6.plist inside the Library/Preferences/ directory for your username.

    I notice I have both a com.sibelius.sibelius5.plist file and a com.sibelius.sibelius6.plist file in that directory. And their last-modification dates are both within the last few days, even though I haven't run the Sib5 app or even had that app on my hard drive for weeks. So I don't know what really goes on behind the scenes, but my instinct is that the plist is where registration info (probably encrypted) lives (maybe worth a google).

    Nope, I got it working happily with no edits to any filename/extension. The key is viewing the package contents and replacing only the specific file as I describe above.

    Hi hinzy, I'm guessing (as you probably are too) that the key for you now is getting Sib6 off your system as thoroughly as possible — and I don't have any special insight into how to do that (so I think your googling is as good as mine on that front). SOMEWHERE on your machine is a registration state for Sib6 that needs to get off your machine before this version can work. If it's not in the plist, it's somewhere…

    I'm having the exact same problem as Hinzy.

    I've been searching google and my computer for the location of the registration file for Sib6. I cannot find it anywhere. The peculiar thing is, every time I delete sibelius 6 and try to re-install it, it states that it will take up no room on my hard drive. I am now trying to use the program "Permanent Eraser" to delete the app, but I have no idea if this will affect it.

    Any help would be very, very appreciated.

    anyone get this working? i have a g5 and have never installed sibelius 5, (it's actually a fresh install from a week ago) and copying the file over doesn't seem to do the trick it still asks me for a serial? Any ideas?

    @George Found this one which did the trick:
    It may be that your file is fine, it's just not executable. Try this:

    1. Use TinkerTool or Wizzard to make you're invisible files visible.

    2. Make a copy of 'bash' which is in your 'bin' folder which you can now see in 'Macintosh HD' (or whatever your hard drive is called)

    3. Paste this to your Desktop

    4. Open it with Text Edit, and delete all the text

    5. Open the Sibelius 6 file (the one that thinks it's a text file)

    6. Select all the text (cmd-A) then copy (cmd-C)

    7. Paste into your empty 'bash' file

    8. Save it (cmd-S)

    9. Rename the file Sibelius 6

    10. Now paste this into /Contents/MacOS as per the intsructions with the torrent.

    Now you should be good to go! (Assuming the file isn't corrupted…) FYI the file should be 35.7MB.
