Sia – Some People Have Real Problems (2008)

Here is the new Sia album. Sorry about posting a P2P release last time. I try to be thorough. I guess I just missed it. Also, I don’t really come up with the descriptions. I just used Wikipedia or Amazon, so some of them might be “over-polished” to sell.

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler (born December 18, 1975), also simply known as Sia, is an Australian pop singer. She is noted for her work with Zero 7 and her two major label solo albums. Some People Have Real Problems is her third studio album. She provided the vocals for the hit singles “Destiny” and “Distractions” from Zero 7’s debut album Simple Things, as well as tracks on their subsequent albums, When It Falls and Garden. She also collaborated successfully with MASSIVE ATTACK and WILLIAM ORBIT.

Sia has had huge club hits, including “Drink To Get Drunk” [remixed by DIFFERENT GEAR] and the UK garage remix of “Little Man” by WOOKIE and “Breathe Me,” from her album Colour the Small One gained significant attention when it was used in the elaborate final scene of HBO’s SIX FEET UNDER.

Track List:

1. “Little Black Sandals” – 4:14
2. “Lentil” – 4:27
3. “Day Too Soon” – 4:24
4. “You Have Been Loved” (Furler, C. Jones, Peter-John Vettese) – 4:23
5. “The Girl You Lost to Cocaine” (Furler, Phil Marten, Eddie Myer, Rob Allum) – 2:40
6. “Academia” – 3:16
7. “I Go to Sleep” (Ray Davies) – 3:47
8. “Playground” – 3:29
9. “Death by Chocolate” (Furler, Greg Kurstin) – 5:03
10. “Soon We’ll Be Found” (Furler, Rick Nowels) – 4:21
11. “Electric Bird” (Furler, Henry Binns) – 4:26
12. “Beautiful Calm Driving” – 5:02
13. “Lullaby” – 9:49

The first album is one of my favourites!
She was on Conan O’Brian the other night and was awesome!

If you like Six Feet Under, her song “Breathe Me” was used in the last scenes of the final episode… can’t wait to get this!

Cover is different at Amazon. To me, slow, boring and she can’t sing. Sounds like a lot of singers during the past 15 years. Can’t imagine there’d be rock n roll if anyone sang like this during the 50s and 60s. Would have driven us to Pat Boone. But keep them coming. Different tastes…

SO why is it that we have the greatest minds of all time at our fingertips, and all around us- socio political geniuses, musical geniuses, and people whom just radiate intelligence and compassion….and yet for some reason we need to record the thoughts of dizzy blondes and pre-pubescent boys and girls? I mean- this pop trash needs to stop. Its a waste of time, and bandwidth. Listen to something with a conscience, something REAL. If all else fails, just pop in some Hendrix at least. Please have some taste. Please. For our future generations. Raise our collective IQ a point or two…

  29. Cap'n Pugwash
    January 10th, 2008 | 22:50

ouch, well anyone with taste would be attracted to a post mentioning names like Massive Attack and William Orbit…sadly this is just that kind of deeply bland EMO overly earnest folk and suffers from tragically bland production.

    give it a big miss.

  30. blahdeblah
    January 10th, 2008 | 22:57

If there’s one thing i can’t stand it’s preachers like ‘meeeeso’ pseudo-intellectuals banging on about putting the world to rights. Well you’ve pointed your intellectual cannon at the wrong target. And who says art should be profound, or intellectual, or have a point? Sia’s music is good, it’s heart felt and very personal. People can engage with this, so who are you to deny them this? This isn’t vacuous commercial ‘gangsta-rap’ or pop, and the fact that you can’t tell the difference speaks volumes.

  31. January 10th, 2008 | 23:00

yet another P2P release. Andre you should really learn how to use either toptorrents or a predb, or something! :nuked: for posting p2p releases again

  32. meeeeso
    January 10th, 2008 | 23:26

Nah the music is weak. Pure and simple. If you like it, go ahead, but honestly people need better taste….yes, “and who are you to say” you might think, but honestly, just from a pure and simple stance, its just crap. There. Thats my opinion- and I stand to it. If you think I’m preaching- you’re wrong…dogmatism like that is not what I’m about- I just wanted to articulate myself- coz I have strong feelings about it. SO you are basically doing the same thing you are accusing me of-

Putting the world to rights? pfft I wake up on a good day I’m more of a nihilist than anything. BUt thats all offtopic.

Sia is clubber trash and she needs to burn forever for her sins. Muah so there. God bless Amerikkka and I win USA #1

  33. Brash
    January 10th, 2008 | 23:31

This FISO release has undesirably low levels…normalize the tracks yourself or get the Advance release instead.

(Though the Advance release doesn’t split the hidden track from track #13 “Lullaby”)

Hi guys, can anybody tell me what’s the difference on a scene release and a p2p one?
These terms are new to me, and I keep finding them everywhere.

hua? is that from yet unreleased Massive Attack album?

  45. mcguff
    January 11th, 2008 | 09:19

Mmmh, i think some people here needs to find new ears.
there are some real gems in this album and Sia’s voice is just absolutely awesome.

  46. Cap'n Pugwash
    January 11th, 2008 | 10:53

yep, it’s not without any merit, it’s just incredibly bland..

there’s lots of ‘unique’ voices out there…she has a nice one but the songs and production (which are all essential parts of the ‘emotional’ experience im sure you think makes this great) are all a little predictable in that folk rock style we’ve been hearing for a long time now. Gems need to be a little bit interesting to bother digging for. These aint.

Maybe you need to get out more.

There is a lot of good music from women out right now, Annie Lennox, Joni Mitchell, Suzanne Vega, Feist, KT Tunstall (first one, not the latest) Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, and my current favorite, St. Vincent. They all have “Something with a conscience, something REAL”

Annie Lennox, Joni Mitchell, that’s hilarious…. and how can you even mention Amy Winehouse and talk about conscience. Don’t get me wrong, I love Amy Winehouse but please, at least read over what you are posting before you submit. You loose all credibility.
I love Sia. Listen to what you want.
