In 2003, the female country band, The Dixie Chicks, are at the top of their game being one of the most successful bands of all time. However with the US invasion of Iraq about to begin over frustrated worldwide objections about this needless war, one of the Chick vents off the cuff in concert about being ashamed of US President George W. Bush. This statement sparks a firestorm of organized and personal right wing attacks against the Chicks for daring to think they have the right to express a negative personal opinion about the President. This film covers the band’s effort to ride out the turmoil that would leave their careers under a cloud, but would eventually give them a opportunity to grow as great artists who bow to no one.

-President Bush nowing that the wolves (UN) are watching the sheep (Iraq) gives Saddam an altimatum. Show us proof the wmd’s were destroyed or we are coming in.

-Saddam did not use any WMD’s after desert storm. He used conventional warfare to suppress a rebellion(one that the rebels thought the US would support, but instead they were left to fend for themselves and were slaughtered). these were not “kurds” although there was probablt some kurds in it. Most were just normal Iraqis fighting for freedom.
-The UN put an embargo on Iraq to make sure they can’t build up their military. As a result, 500.000 iraqi children die from disease and starvation.
-Lots of inspectors inspect in Iraq for years and finds nothing. Eventually Saddam gets tired of it and wants them to leave.
-The US pay terrorists to carry out murders and bomb inoocent civilians all around the world and are still doing it.
-Saddam allows muslims into iraq for medical treatment(and that is bad?)
-The UN countries actually have a deal with Iraq called “the food for oil programme” Not illegal except if you are a stupid american.
-Saddam tells the US there are no WMD’s and wants to talk. Bush refuses. This was even sent on prime time TV in case you missed it.
-Leaders from other countries do NOT agree that he has WMD’s. On the contrary most countries say NO to war with IRAQ. The US get basically no support for their war but they go ahead anyways.
-The US gets no support form the UN for their invasion, but go on anyways to start a illegal war on a basically defenseless Iraq.
-the US go in, kill a lot of innocent people and depose of Saddam, a US-supported dictator that is convicted in a sham trial and quickly hanged before he gets a chance to tell the truth to anyone.

A word on the WMD’s- heres how it was supposed to go. UN inspectors come in Saddam shows them his stock pile which he did have and he used. Saddam is supposed to destroy them under watchful eyes of the inspectors.World is happy. This is how it went. UN inspectors enter Iraq,Saddam shows them a couple of destroyed weapons,inspectors ask for the rest,Saddam says thats all, inspectors ask if they can search,Saddam allows it,inspectors find nothing,inspectors ask to search in other areas,Saddam allows certain arears but not others.inspectors leave and the game of hide and seek goes on for 12 years.
