A limited movie appeared online, as many times limited movies are really good and have good scores. This movie has quite a good IMDB rating and is a drama about some people living in New York. For the moment I’m passing this one.
Written and directed by Mitchell (who previously starred in and directed the film adaptation of his international stage hit, “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”), “Shortbus” explores the lives of several characters living in present-day New York as they navigate the comic and tragic intersections between love and sex. Male and female, straight and gay, the characters find one and other – and eventually find themselves – when they all converge at a weekly underground salon called “Shortbus,” a mad nexus of art, music, politics, and polysexual carnality. Mitchell developed the film’s story along with his ensemble cast, all of whom are making their feature film debuts, and who were selected after submitting videotaped interviews/auditions in response to a well-publicized open casting call posted on a website. Over a half million people visited the website and nearly 500 people sent in tapes before the final seven leading performers/characters were selected to workshop the storyline with Mitchell.
The resulting film, one of the true sensations of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, presents sex and sexuality as never before seen in mainstream entertainment, and promises to be one of the most talked-about films for months – and years – to come.

I don’t question the quality of this particular movie, but limited releases (read independent movies) seem to earn a high IMDB rating just by not being a blockbuster. IMDB readers (or voters) just like it a bit arty.
BUT I read some interesting stuff about this one, so it might really be worth the download, although I am not sure I want to see a movie with that many sex scenes on the one hand and so much dialogue on the other…
I don’t know how it got such a good rating.

Watched this movie a couple of months ago, and it was complete and utter shit. If you want to watch shit acting with a shit storyline be my guest, people are only talking about it because of the graffic sex scenes e.g Guy sucking his own cock and comming over his face, guy wanking himself off whilst being dominated by a dominatrix, Gay threesome whilst one guy rims another whilst humming star spangled banner at the same time(which was quite funny)if your not homophobic, and a few orgy scenes thrown in. Critics call this a good movie, I think they have it mixed up with something else. Anyways if you want to watch some bad porn watch this, I usually download mine from torrentspy myself at least I know what I am getting, but I dont care about the acting and storyline

I thought it was a very good movie, and not being gay. Of course you have to be bit open minded.

It’s no porn movie. It’s like Bruno Dumont’s movies (Twentyninth palm for example) were nothing is hiden. The question is, why can you show blood from a bullet entering a man’s chest, and can’t show anything related to sexual activities with the same accuracy ? How often do we have sex, and how often do we kill people violently ?
It’s a good movie, with romance and great acting and lines.
