Ship Simulator 2008 New Horizons-FLT
People from FLT released the add-on (yes, you need the original Ship Simulator 2008 to play, released by PROCYON, click here) for the Ship Simulator 2008 game. I never really have time for sims, but I know many people like it so here it is. This expansion pack includes multiplayer, but you’ll need a legal key if you want to play multi. The rest of the add-on pack exists of the usual stuff – more ships, more weather conditions, more missions etc.

Damn, JUST uninstalled Ship Simulator as it was all done and gettign boring, now it’s back to square one again. Oh well, despite my initial opinions, it did get pretty entertaining and a little tougher as it went on. Hopefully this one runs through misisons without the linear bugs that full version had.

did u insert the serial key for 2008? i gave the serial for key for 2008 and when it comes to license key for new horizon, i skipped it. Then created an account for me and played.. Still dont know if we can save and load games. Im still checking it.

use SS2008 key when it asks for SS2008 key. theres a key to skip the license code of SS2008 NH. skip it.

Without a working NH Key, you can not use any of the NH Ships.
The NH Key works! I had to enter a valid SS2008 keyfirst, which works for version 1.3, its YZM4Y VKKBB 7MDZ4 FFDZZ DVVDY, I exited the game then loaded it again and entered the NH Key! WOOT!
Uninstalled SS2008, reinstalled SS2008, entered the Serial (YZM4Y VKKBB 7MDZ4 FFDZZ DVVDY) game works. Installed SS2008 NH, started same thing as before.
INVALID KEY.
Tried the three SS2008 keys I know of and the SS2008 NH key. None works. Neither does the skip button.

I managed to get this to work following #64 instructions.
I installed the original (version 1.0) SS08 Procyon release http://freebooksource.info/games/?p=5540
using key YZM4Y-VKKBV-7MDZ4-FFDZZ-DVVDY
I started the game to after key input to check it worked, then closed it.
I then installed using Procyon update from #41 links. I was asked for key when I started SS08 after installing this update. Yes I had problems, none of the keys would work. I tried closing ss08, reopening and same problem again, “invalid key”.
On the 4th time (of restarting the game) it accepted the key YZM4Y-VKKBV-7MDZ4-FFDZZ-DVVDY first, then it asked for New Horizon key and I used FMTTV-6V4DV-AA4MZ-CCB64-VFDKZ
This updated it to version 1.4 and now it appears to be all working! Wow I hope it’s worth it. If not I’m going to to be sea sick hahahah

You guys keep asking for working serials, how in heck did you load new horizons in the first place? There’s no executable or installable image, though the file is over 700megs! What gives here? Do I take back my praise of fairlight, or have they just out sourced to India as well.

ok ppl found the problem for 22 2008 and new horizons. the serial is not and i repeat is not ” YZM4Y – VKKBV – 7MDZ4 – FFDZZ – DVVDY” BUT IT IS ACTUALLY ” YZM4Y – VKKBV – ZMDZ4 – FFDZZ – DVVDY” works for me everytime and the serial for newhorizons works perfectly.

Okay, heres the sequence that worked for me. Load ss08 ver 1.0 and use THIS serial # not the YZM4Y serial. DTZEV-ZDZZV-KVT7Z-4CFTZ-496AY. I then patched to 1.1 ver. and NO further serial activation was needed. I then patched from 1.1 to 1.3 (yes I used the two patch method) Again no serial # request was made and the game ran fine. I downloaded New Horizons and extracted with Uniextract (much thanks to Cogito)Ran the installer and skipped serial #. (It does let you) But ALL NEW SHIPS need serial, so here it is. FMTTV-6V4DV-AA4MZ-CCB64-VFDKZ. This is it. It WORKS. I’m playing ver 1.4 now. Fairlight DID have the good serial, I got it from them. Good luck to all future captains. See you on the high sea.

sorry it didn’t work for you edynosleep. I can’t explain why it didn’t. How far did you get? Did you make sure SS’08 worked after every patch? The two SS’08 serials I have are the same two floating around here with the possible corrected VKKB’B’ replacing the original VKKB’V'which only worked for ver 1.1 My New horizons serial remains the same.
As a consolation, New horizons doesn’t really bring up the FUN factor much. If you got SS’08 working, it’s pretty much the same lackluster environments, with no accurate sailing or weather modeling. I want THE PERFECT STORM setting! But there is none.
the best way to get this to work is to reinstall ss 2008 and then imedatily install new horizons. dont put serial in first before installing new horizons. when u install both then try the serials they work perfectly.

I found that the problem is the key for SH2008 (after installing “New Horizons”.
Infact the key YZM4Y-VKKBV-7MDZ4-FFDZZ-DVVDY is WRONG!
The right key is YZM4Y-VKKBB-7MDZ4-FFDZZ-DVVDY.

Is This company obsessed with serial # copy protection- or is it just piss poor programming and coding? I have never seen a program NOT work with the serial number that DID WORK before upgrading!
I don’t think it’s piss poor programming and coding, these new patches are just blocking the serials from Procyon and Fairlight.
You see they want you to pay for there work funny that.
If you look hard enough you should be able to find a serial for the new patch(post here if you do) or you could just buy it haha.

install ship simulator 2008 using one of the above serials
then install new horisons and press skip when it comes to enter the serial
If you press skip you can’t use some of the boats and maps, because they will be locked. So for now don’t use the patches eg 1.4.2 until there is a key for that.
Stick with the first release from Procyon and new horisons from Fairlight don’t apply the new patches.
Once again we need new key for latest patch(1.4.2).

I bought SS2008 version 1.1 and then updated to 1.4.2 and tried using New Horizons, but when I start it it says “questviewer error.” and it closes. Is there anyway around this so I can make new horizons work?
I had Ship Simulator 2008 running a hour ago then i installed the 1.4.2 patch now i get a new icon on the desktop and when i open the game it asks me for another license key so what I’m guessing is that the game itself connected to an online server to check my current key and found that it has been used on too much PC’s and canceled my key (Does that sound familiar Windows XP does the same thing too) the original 1.0 game cant go online but the 1.4.2 can using multiplayer that is what proves this theory.

2.Install the update 1.4.2

Install ss2008 and register. Copy all files (not folders) located in C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2008 and save them whereever you like… Install everything you want after that and dont care about serials not allowing you to use some content…copy the previously saved files and go back to C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2008…paste them there…
DONE!!
(try different versions of this method: It works!!)
(the key here is to copy all files (not folders) located in C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2008 at hte beggining or at some point where you have no problem with serials… I even could change the language and install other stuff like sounds…)

I have find the way to play Shipsim 2008 V1.42 with the add-on New horizons.
First install the game V1.0 with this cd-key:MFKMY-DDDZV-TBZ7V-FAFTZ-AT4MZ
then backup the file “GlobalVars.cgr” and install the New Horizons add on and drop a copy of the GlobalVars.cgr in the game folder and use this cdkey to activate the addon:FMTTV-6V4DV-AA4MZ-CCB64-VFDKz
After this backup again the globalvars.cgr and install the patch and finally copy this backup in the game folder.

2.install 1.4.2
serial: just change the kvt7l (l)letter L
then that’s it!

I get the same problem as other people have posted around the net. I get “a channel that is needed for this product has an incorrect engine version”. Then is ask’s if i want to upgrade, and after i do it’s the same. Just like other people are saying. It’s a quest3d error….but i’ve sent email to them and the game and neither will reply. These guys are crooks.

Hello everyone, I installed successfully ship simulator 2008 new horizon but when I start up my screen becomes blue and will not let me enter the code. Can anyone help me? (sorry for my bad english)
Unistall the game, delete file (if exists) from c:\programsfiles reinstall the version v1.0 and read again carefully these:
Install ss2008 and register. Copy all files (not folders) located in C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2008 and save them whereever you like… Install everything you want after that and dont care about serials not allowing you to use some content…copy the previously saved files and go back to C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2008…paste them there…
DONE!!
(try different versions of this method: It works!!)
(the key here is to copy all files (not folders) located in C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2008 at hte beggining or at some point where you have no problem with serials… I even could change the language and install other stuff like sounds…)
I have find the way to play Shipsim 2008 V1.42 with the add-on New horizons.
First install the game V1.0 with this cd-key:MFKMY-DDDZV-TBZ7V-FAFTZ-AT4MZ
then backup the file “GlobalVars.cgr” and install the New Horizons add on and drop a copy of the GlobalVars.cgr in the game folder and use this cdkey to activate the addon:FMTTV-6V4DV-AA4MZ-CCB64-VFDKz
After this backup again the globalvars.cgr and install the patch and finally copy this backup in the game folder
Hi guys i’ve tried everything said above but nothing could be done with ship simulator 2008 v1,42. Everything is ok until i install the New Horizons where the screen turns blue, when i start the game, with the above copy-paste methods. Only if i setup ship simulator 2008 and then the New Horizons normally with their well known codes i can play the game but as you can understand if i setup then the patch 1.42 i must have the code for it…what can i do??
who knows the ship simulator 2008 new horizons license key ????????
Guys found the solution! The required license key for the update v1.4.2 is: dtzev-zdzzv-hvt72-4cftz-496ay as it is, with caps lock off.
