@38, please….your logic needs a lot of work. There are "skeeters" all over the world and including the oil fields of Alaska well above the arctic circle where you would not expect them to be and this proves what? That the species is adaptable. Big deal! So are big cats, so your point is what exactly? Nope, not a choice on shark design, they just found a "slot" to fill and have done it. And so what if the design has not changed in millions of years, that does not make it a good design. For instance they have to stay swimming all the time or they drown..you call that a good design? almost all other fish can sit without moving and be ok, but not a shark. And saying that if they go extinct then they are unfit for survival is not perverting the phrase. Dinos grew very large because all the stuff to eat, and then when that stuff vanished or was not enough to keep the large frame intact, they went extinct because they were unfit to survive. Same with the Dodo and the thousands of other species that have come about…survived and then went extinct. And the same with mankind. If we are too stupid to make sure we survive then we dont deserve to survive. That is evolution in it's purest form. And your statement about mankind killing species is not part of natural selection…give me a freakin break. evolutionists say that mankind evolved a larger brain and was able to make weapons to defend and feed himself. As such it IS natural selection when mankind hunts…and if a species goes extinct because mankind has evolved a larger brain…so be it. This is nature at it's purest.

Oh and BTW the school joke is still good and still aimed at you because all we are receiving from you is claims that you "know a little bit more about sharks then just the usual "killer shark" doku stuff" yet you neglect to say where you got your education in this from and what degree you have in this field or even if you graduated. So all your claim is, is a hot blast of wind that has proven nothing. You can say anything hiding behind a keyboard, and I mentioned the top names in the field of shark study; yet you have provided nothing to prove your point. So your claim of knowledge more then normal is yoru own "joke in and of itself" as you have yet to prove such….and I really dont expect you can.

@37 I was not saying that they don´t do the stuff you said, honestly i know a little bit more about sharks then just the usual "killer shark" doku stuff – you know what i mean, but your logic "I said they are the most useless animals in the seas and if they die off, then that is just evolution's survival of the fittest at work."
If they are so useless and obsolete how can it be that they are so many species of sharks all over the world adapted to nearly every kind of enviroment you can find in the oceans, some of them basicaly unchanged for millions of years – this should be an indicator for the sucess of the shark design, even to you.
The only reason for some shark species today to be on the brink of extinction is the human species. If you think that is natural selection, i don´t think so. They simply got the same fate as so many other animals that got eradicated because of comercial issues or we didn´t care if they got killed of, who needs them anyway. In one way you could say about every species that got wiped out that they where unfit for survival, but without looking at the facts what caused the obliteration, that´s short of perverting that phrase. In modern times the human influence on the enviroment or direct hunting has killed of a large number of species, that has absolute nothing to do with natural selection. Because of the logic of your last sentence we nearly killed off all big predators on land. Oh i forgot we are the top of the food chain so we can call it survival of the fittest. It´s not about what species we think are usefull it´s about living together with all of them so good as we can…
Oh by the way the school joke would be good back i´n the 80´s
when i where in school.
After this comments you talking about ignorance is a joke in itself… but no bad one…

@35, since you are the one obviously using a tampon since you know about inserting and removing it, how bout you take your own advice?

@36, your post is one of the dumbest things I have ever read here. It is a fact that sharks mistake swimmers for wounded fish or seals and you would know this if you bothered to check with the experts on sharks like Mark Marks or Greg Skomal or Jeff Gallant or Ralph Collier or Dr. Richard Fernicola. You would also know that sharks WILL try and eat themselves thinking that the blood in the water is coming from a wounded prey and is clearly shown in films of a shark feeding frenzy. And I never said kill them, I said they are the most useless animals in the seas and if they die off, then that is just evolution's survival of the fittest at work. Notice I never said anything about moray eels as you have to make them attack you, or lions or tigers or elephants or hippos; all who will attack if they think you are going to harm them. Sharks on the other hand attack for no other reason then you look like food. Dont believe me child, then educate yourself and read the book Twelve Days of Terror, the definitive book on the 1916 shark attacks along the New Jersey shore that was the inspiration for the movie Jaws

But you are correct on one thing, we really need to ask for God's mercy in making you unable to have children to pollute the gene pool any worse then your "born stupid, no brain, no pain" self has already done. And then we need to make sure that your parents cannot have any more like you. Jeeze, if this is what the schools are turning out these days then I fear humanity will not survive. So slime your way back under the rock of ignorance you came from and stay there till you learn something. Humanity did not claw it's way to the top of the food chain just to be turned into a happy meal for a garbage eating fish.

Anything that is so stupid that it will mistake a human for a seal or some species attacking you for looking them in the eye, and if injured will try and eat itself; is way too damn stupid to care about. Now if this was about the gentle whale shark who will let people swim right up to it and actually play with them like a dolphin does ships, then I can see getting on your high horse about them. Sharks are the most useless sea creature out there and there are thousands of species that do the exact same thing as sharks do (take out wounded sea creatures) and they are no danger to humans.

Feel the same way about the 6 and 8 foot squids down in the Baja Sea that are so damn vicious and dangerous that they will attack anything that moves including boats! And have been known to pack attack swimmers and rip them apart. Hence the name "wolves of the sea" and that is why they are hated by fishermen.
