September Dawn REPACK DVDSCR XVID-ALLiANCE

It doesn’t happen really often that group repacks or propers their own release, but ALLiANCE just made this mistake once again and luckily for us fixed it few moments later. It wasn’t a big deal though – the first dvd screener had CBR audio and this one has VBR, which is correct according to the scene standards. There’s this classic “property of” notice at the bottom of the image. September Dawn is an average drama/western, which isn’t really popular or famous, but you have the chance to get it now…

A story set against the Mountain Meadows Massacre, the film is based upon the tragedy which occurred in Utah in 1857. A group of settlers, traveling on wagons, was murdered by the native Mormons. All together, about 140 souls of men, women and children, were taken. Amidst this, two young lovers-to-be, one a Mormon and the other one of the doomed settlers from Arkansas, develop a relationship in an atmosphere of suspicion and rancor.

I love new Westerns, but with the low IMDB score I’ll pass. But Alliance keep up the good work.

This is a very biased and awful movie, aimed at giving a bad name to Mormons. It is a true story, based on important LIES, e.g. Brigham Young’s involvement.

To give you an idea of their lie-enthralled agenda, they promoted the film with this tagline:”America’s first act of religious terrorism.”

If anyone knows American History, not to mention Mormon History, they will know how ridiculous that statement is. Mormons experienced murders and rape from religious bigots who did so in the name of their god, for 27 years prior to this event.

This is an awful movie, based on important lies.

Early Mormons gave themselves a bad name.
Their treatment of women, along with the shyster who started it. I’m not “picking” on Mormans either, most every religious group has some big skeletons in their closet. Would you feel so defensive if this were a movie about Muslim extremists actions??

I too enjoyed this film. I have recently looked into other religions for a study I am working on. All the Christian denominations, the Jews, Muslims, all spoke with me. The only two that didn’t were Jehovah’s Witnesses and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They are hiding something. And nobody hides anything good.

As an athiest I watched the film and as a historian I studied it afterwards and I must admit that a lot of fantasy went into this anti-mormon film. The stories of the pioneers from the east coast to the infamous Salt Lake City is indeed paved with mormon bloodshed and rape, In fact the state of Missouri made it legal to kill a mormon hence their rapid escape from that dreaded state but do we see films on this?
