@22- Huh? You don’t make any sense. Of course this movie is quite one sided. I would think that all movies of this type usually are.

BUT… You telling people that “This is a very biased and awful movie, aimed at giving a bad name to Mormons.” was purely of your opinion. I encourage others to SEE this movie and at least get “educated” about the incident. I also encourage people to SEE movies that generate controversy. I like the thought process of why the people in power, religious leadership and industry DON’T want us to see types of movies like this (also like Da Vinci Code).

I was a practicing Mormon at one point, but I didn’t know about this awful wound it had. They (the LDS church) NEEDS to admit this tragedy so that it can grow and heal with the rest of the country. America is FULL of unacknowledged acts in its closets. The best way to deal with them is face on and NOT ignore them and HOPE that the problem will go away. If ignored, America’s hurt will eat itself from the INSIDE.

I respect your OPINION but don’t offer a “very biased and awful” one-sided point of view. I don’t think this movie gave Mormons a bad name. It just acknowledged one of America’s dark tragedies.

Your last sentence didn’t make any sense and don’t bother explaining it.

You acknowledge that it was okay for the LDS church to retaliate against “The Gentiles” for what they did to them in states like Missouri? Where in the world is YOUR thinking?

This is a very biased and awful movie, aimed at giving a bad name to Mormons. It is a true story, based on important LIES, e.g. Brigham Young’s involvement.

To give you an idea of their lie-enthralled agenda, they promoted the film with this tagline:”America’s first act of religious terrorism.”

If anyone knows American History, not to mention Mormon History, they will know how ridiculous that statement is. Mormons experienced murders and rape from religious bigots who did so in the name of their god, for 27 years prior to this event.

This is an awful movie, based on important lies.

My wife and I feel much enlightened and informed after watching this movie. These types of movies come far and few in between and need to be watched with a mature mind.

The rest of you people need to always take reviews lightly. Watch a movie and if you won’t like it, you’ll know it by the first 5 minutes or so.

You guys don’t seem to understand about movies like this. Even though it may be rated awful because of how it’s made (i.e. or e.g. the love story part in this movie), the story of this account about Mormons (from factual re-tellings, from Diaries or things like that) needs to be told.

Mormonism is NOT all roses like people think.
Hell, Christianity has its historical accounts being retold all the time (such as the crucifixion of the Messiah).

Ever wonder about Romeo and Juliet? Wonder why the families were so much in an uproar? Could it be that it was between Catholicism and Protestant beliefs? I am sure it wasn’t merely because the two love birds came from 2 different economical demographics.

Some people in Hollywood make movies like these to get us to think about how our reality really is.

One more example… The movie “Shooter”. So much can go here, but I am done typing on this subject.
