Sega Rally-NOGRP

Yea this is a few days late, it’s all explained in this post. I also thought that this game deserved its own article, that’s why its not included in the previous Multipost. Sega Rally is all about arcade gameplay so even though the screenies might look similar to DiRT the gameplay is totally different. If your into simulation then go for DiRT if your more for casual racing then leech this. Two really great games, its up to you to decide which will satisfy your gaming needs best. Have Fun!

SEGA Rally Revo is the new benchmark in next-gen off-road racing, turning every lap into a new experience. Experience truly deformable tracks for the first time, using proprietary GeoDeformation™ technology. Bumper-to-bumper races in single-player and multiplayer modes on a constantly changing track surface, using fully customizable licensed cars. The genre-defining SEGA Rally arcade brand sets a new off-road racing benchmark with SEGA Rally Revo, made possible by the processing power of next-generation platforms.

Features:

  • Bumper-to-Bumper Off-Road Racing: Close, competitive racing, with multiple cars driving across a number of off-road environments.
  • Groundbreaking GeoDeformation™: Fully deformable environments and surfaces ensure that the race experience differs on every lap.
  • Speed and Adrenaline: Fun, looping tracks, with a wide variety of surface types and fully licensed vehicles including 4WD, 2WD and Classic vehicles.
  • A Driving Fantasy: A wonderfully vibrant graphical world featuring eight environment types, each inspired by exotic locations around the world.
  • Competition: Advanced AI plus online and offline multiplayer ensure a healthy level of competition for drivers of any standard.

    September 23rd, 2007 | 20:44

    It’s THE arcade game. Over the top rally. DiRT is for simulation fans.

  5. September 23rd, 2007 | 20:45

    looks sweet!

    I’ve been waiting for this. Tried Dirt. While it was a well made game, it was quite dull and boring.

    September 23rd, 2007 | 20:55

    I downloaded this yesterday. looks nice and flows well. Its real Arcady, no simulation. If you got Dirt already there no need for this.

    I couldnt get my joypad going so I only ran a few tracks with keyboard before giving up.

    Anyone knows how to change controls? ‘Cause they’re r(e)ally stupid…

  9. September 23rd, 2007 | 21:29

    Hmmz, I played DiRT and I can say it’s liek 10x better than this crapgame. There you have your answer :)

    any info on recommended specs?

    read in forums … you need at least Dual Core and Geforce 8 for smooth gameplay … like Colin Dirt.

    if you ask me, that sucks!

    @12 agree with u but for those who might be interested
    Have Played it on a PSP and as far as gameplay goes
    There Is no comparison between the two. It is a Arcade racer as the series always has been. If u Like sim racing u wont like it. If u like arcade racing then u might not like it either.

    The console versions have only 2 reviews with 90% average score. As people said earlier, this is an arcade, fun and breezy racing game, not a physically realistic, hardcore and unforgiving racing simulator. Comparing these two different genre games is like comparing Half-life and… I don’t know… World of Warcraft…

    Maybe not on par regarding graphics and interface with Colin Mcrae: DiRT, still a fun and enjoyable game. If you’re looking for a racing sim tho’ look elsewhere, this is as arcade as you can get when it comes to rally racing. Only fault I could see in it was the weird camera angles you’d be positioned in after a skid-out.

    Dirt has better graphics and realistic driving, this is still nice gfx, but supa arcady, ie if you hit a tree you bounce off and keep going, no damage. Plus the joypad and steering wheel controls are not working, unless it because of ze crack.

    this is a arcade game.

    the keyboard controls are crap
    i can grind along the “invisable” wall through out the tracks

    A = Forward
    Z = brake/reverse
    , = Left
    . = Right
    space = handbrake

    September 24th, 2007 | 07:25

    gamepad works for me.

    this is in the lineage of the old sega rally arcade game, which was popular at the same time daytona usa was. i like the graphics and feel better than dirt, and arcadey games are easier for friends to pick up and play in multiplayer.

    the real time track deformation in this game is a cool addition as well

  25. Zhenshia
    September 24th, 2007 | 09:24

    rbr is way more realistic than dirt, everyone else who’ve played the two reckon so, i mean dis is sega rally, wt do you expect?

    i have found a fix for the “SEGARallyLauncher.exe” crashing all the time,

    go into the game directory, (C:\Program Files\SEGA\SEGA Rally) right click the “SEGARallyLauncher.exe” select properties and UNCHECK “read only”

    should work fine now!!!

    @Tam - didn’t make any difference
    @tomtom - can’t open prog using any of the .exes, although the one u mention gets a bit further than the others before crashing.
    BTW, it’s not one of those crap programs that has to be installed on ‘C’ drive is it ????
