@Tasshu: because a) it’s a f*cking hassle to change the option every time you need to do a screenshot and b) because most people who know their way around computers don’t use Media Player.

And yes, overlays should be enabled, especially if you use tv out.

ok 1.) Wtf? why need a programme for this???

2.) go on media player – go tools options – go on Advance – and untick Use overlays.

windows media player is made by layers. so u need to turn em of to take a screenshot hope this helps ppl!

Personally I have never had any use for a program like this. Windows own “printscreen” works perfectly, if you want to capture just a single window hold down ALT when pressing printscreen. This just seems overkill.

It really is much easier and better to just use VLC. One click and it captures the image no matter if you have hardware acceleration on or not.

Snagit 8 blows most of these type of applications out of the water, if you’re in need of a screen grabber that basically has it all, go for Snagit:)

Yeah what “d” said or you can first open up another video and then the one you want to screenshot – the second one won’t use video acceleration/overlay and can therefore be prt scr’nd the usual way

@Baiko – Try setting your graphic hardware acceleration to none then do your print screen and paste it in paint and save it. Hardware acceleration can be access through right clicking on your desktop > properties > settings tab > advanced button > troubleshoot tab.
