Screen Grab Pro Deluxe v1.0-DVT

Chaps from group DVT released a brand new application today: Screen Grab Pro Deluxe v1.0 does what the name says, it captures screenshots for you. This is a must for me and I think it may be useful for many of you too, but I’m not certainly sure whether Screen Grab is the most wise choice for this task. It’s a new application in its first version, so you can’t really expect too much from it. The graphic interface looks little spartan – may be it would have success in Win 98 era, but now is 2007. So although it does its work quite well, I’ll stay with HyperSnap this time…

Screen Grab Pro Deluxe features One click grab of any screen for ease of use, timer operation, current window selection list.

Screen Grab Pro Deluxe supports full window or window region screen capture to file and/or clipboard ready for pasting in your favorite Picture Editor, capture of video windows is now possible, BMP, JPG, GIF, ICO & PDF save support, JPG compression options, change capture scaling, mouse pointer capture support, save with scaling options, auto save filenames with directory path, temp path and file naming support for e.g. date, time filename output. Minimizes to task tray for quick capture, includes balloon tray info support, one key / mouse click capture & configure your own capture shortcut keys.

    U could also just press the “Print Screen SysRq” button and then go into a paint application and press paste and up comes a snap of your screen!!

    @Baiko – Try setting your graphic hardware acceleration to none then do your print screen and paste it in paint and save it. Hardware acceleration can be access through right clicking on your desktop > properties > settings tab > advanced button > troubleshoot tab.

    Yeah what “d” said or you can first open up another video and then the one you want to screenshot – the second one won’t use video acceleration/overlay and can therefore be prt scr’nd the usual way :)

    As for myself I love Gadwin PrintScreen – it’s free!

    Snagit 8 blows most of these type of applications out of the water, if you’re in need of a screen grabber that basically has it all, go for Snagit:)

    Personally I have never had any use for a program like this. Windows own “printscreen” works perfectly, if you want to capture just a single window hold down ALT when pressing printscreen. This just seems overkill.

    @d
    It really is much easier and better to just use VLC. One click and it captures the image no matter if you have hardware acceleration on or not.

    ok 1.) Wtf? why need a programme for this???

    2.) go on media player – go tools options – go on Advance – and untick Use overlays.

    @Tasshu: because a) it’s a f*cking hassle to change the option every time you need to do a screenshot and b) because most people who know their way around computers don’t use Media Player.

    And yes, overlays should be enabled, especially if you use tv out.
