Sabaton – Art Of War [Retail][2008]

Here is a completely brilliant album that has been out as a promo for a few weeks now. Sabaton is one of the most interesting Power Metal bands for a long time. I’ve been listening to them since they released their first album “Primo Victoria”, which is also amazing. I haven’t posted any metal for a very long time now, but I really think this is worth downloading. Sabatons music could be described as War-Metal. Their lyrics are almost only about the wars of the 20th century, which is part of makes them so interesting. Todays retail release of this album was pred by a famous group that decided to call themselves “Sabaton” today. There is not a single mediocre song on this album, so go ahead and download it NOW.

Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band that was formed in 1999. The band’s main lyrical theme is war, particularly World War II. This can be seen on the albums Primo Victoria and Attero Dominatus where all of the songs, excluding the final tracks, takes inspiration from historical battles or wars.

When i look at the picture of the guys attacking guns in their hands, with a bit of gloom and blur Photoshop effects, i can hear clearly Angry nintendo nerd saying:

    “What they were thinking!”

    Well,
if I compare the picture to the album cover – there is something not quite right. Actually it’s the one thing metal bands _always_ get wrong. They are captivated in their fantasy roleplaying worlds (just read their names.. Tolkien anyone?) that they have overslept the industrialisation of war for about 4000 years now. They are still with Conan the Bavarian while war has become nothing to be proud of, nothing authentic, nothing meaningful. Where is the honour in clicking your mouse and killing possible insurgents with a computer style anti-personal missile? There is none. There also is no meaning in dieing in a useless war of atrition, like e.g. Verdun. The battle raged endlessly and all that was won were a few metres which got last the next week again… That’s pretty much the definition of uselessness (not like war was ever really effective in accomplishing anything).

I’ve seen this band live, it was horrible. All I saw there was teens with short hair and jizz all over their face.

I honestly don’t know why so many of you are complaining. I just downloaded the entire album and listened to the first few songs and I already know this one is a keeper!

I’d say they are similar to “Iced Earth” and “Powerglove (but with vocals)”. The lead singer also rolls his “r” like the dude from Rammstein, which I kinda dig.

I recommend you don’t judge this CD by the cover!

The whole world was built on war. Every civilization that matters and survived and flourished to today. Especially the only one that really matters, the US. Seventeen wars with one loss, and now our gas stations rival any supermarket in The Middle East.

Britain nearly owned the entire planet at one point. Thanks to war. Rome, The Third Reich, war.

So all you hippies and liberals that want world peace, start your own country without weapons, famine, and violence. When you are successful, how will you defend what you have built from me when I come in with a large board with a nail sticking out of it and takeover. Go hug a baby seal.

Just listened to it. I found it boring.

#23 and #25 will you believe the same when a conqueror kill your family, your friends and take everything you love?
Should people get killed because of the inability of the politicians to handle the finance of their countries?

    @31

Of course I would still believe it, no matter what personal incidents take place. It’s factual.

If a bear should eat my child, I’ll still believe it eats to survive, and it’s a big bad bear. It’s factual.

People are killed to pave way for new civilizations, whether it good or bad, that’s opinion. They have the money, they have the guns. If you’re too weak to defend what you have, you deserve to lose it. Including your life.

This just goes to show that the taste aint the same for everyone. I absolutely love this band and their songs are incredible. The lyrics are well written and if you know what they are about and think about them, it makes them even better.

Does every post have to start some debate between people who think they’re all that for writing stuff on the web?

Let’s talk about the actual band, their album, and not the buzzwords contained within their description. Can we be a little more intelligent than twelve-year-olds?

From what I’ve heard from the people who have actually talked about the album, it’s pretty much split to extremes. Either you’ll love it or hate it. The genre is posted as power metal, of which I’d say I’m a fan.

    Let’s give it a go.

Well, when I did hear it for the first time and compared it to albums before, I had to state it sucks. But once I did hear it several times, it becomes better with every single hearing of it. I like 40-1 song a lot now :P
For @43: Metal is the only kind of music for real men, so go grab your doll and play with it instead of wasting your time here :P

Очень часто люди разыскивают фирмы, которые выполняют такие услуги как: пассажирские перевозки. На самом деле, пасажирские перевозки по украине стали ужасно частичными среди разных групп людей, так как это действительно удобно.
