Ryu Ga Gotoku 2007 DVDRip XviD-HKM

We haven’t had an Asian flick here for some time now so I decided to post this new release of Japanese action movie Ryu Ga Gotoku (English title is “Like a Dragon”). The few reviews I read through talk about a good mix of funny scenes and violence, tragedy and action. The movie deals with Yakuza, bribed cops and other criminals. You can also expect a great deal of twists and turnarounds in the story. This release contains Japanese audio with English subtitles on 2 CDs.

Former Yakuza underling Kiryu Kazuma (Kitamura Kazuki), who has recently been released from prison after a lengthy incarceration, and is trying to piece his life together and distance himself from his Yakuza past. Along the way he encounters Haruka (”Natsuo”), a distressed young girl who is trying to find her lost mother (a former club hostess). Unfortunately Kiryu’s problems slowly escalate as he is pursued by a former associate, the baseball bat-wielding psycho Majima Goro (Kishitani Goro) who has a grudge to settle with Kiryu.

    This is based on the PS2 game ‘Yakuza’. Its a brilliant movie from famous director Takashi Miike (who also directed stuff for the original game).

    I just watched the DVD version of it i downloaded somehwere else.

    waste of time.

    takashi miike is probably the most overrated director of modern times, seriously.

    You don’t have to merge them : just give the Exact same name to both of them,it will be recognized !

    The front cover reminds me a bit of Scarface/American Gangster, with the color and stance and such, and it seems interesting, gang wars and cops and guns! haha I might look into this…

    This is fantastic! I loved the game, and I love Takashi Miike’s movies. I had no idea he was making a movie based on the game though. This is bound to be awesome!

    pretty cool visual scenes at the end of the movie with the fighting, but the fighting itself is very mediocre. Characters are very unique, the little girl Haruka was adorable.

    Recommended if u got nothing else to watch :)

    Subtitles are out of sync. they are just timed poorly. they will be ok then they will come almost 3 seconds too soon. happens about 100 times. get a better copy with better subtitles.

    interesting weave for the story. camera work/editing is at times difficult to handle other times it reminded me of that movie “day watch”.

    God, the translation is awful, many vital points is missed i’m sure, i can’t tell for sure what they’re saying but it i can tell it sure as hell isn’t what it says in the subs.

    Can’t say i’m too suprised if you think this movie is crap if you base your judgement on the dialouge form this sub.
