Running Scared 2006 HDDVD 1080p x264 DTS-NiX

Halleluja guys! First 1080p movie here on rlslog, and I must say: quality is FINE. I watched this movie myself and I really enjoyed watching it. The storyline is good and the acting is pretty nice too, that’s probarbly also the reason that it’s getting a 7,5 out of over 20,000 votes on IMDB. Take a look yourself, i’d say :)

Joey Gazelle (Paul Walker) is a low level mob flanker who gets told to dispose of a gun used for killing some dirty cops. Joey however, hides the gun in the drywall of his basement instead of tossing them in the river. When Joey’s 10 year-old son (Alex Neuberger) and his best friend, Oleg (Cameron Bright), witness Joey hiding some guns from a botched drug deal, Oleg steals the gun — a snub-nosed .38 — and shoots his abusive stepfather (Karel Roden) with it. Things would be bad enough if the stepfather didn’t happen to be the nephew of a psychotic Russian mob boss (John Noble)… who happens to be in business with Joey’s crew on a gasoline scam. But now Joey’s also got the surviving dirty cop (Chazz Palminteri) from the botched drug deal on his case… and that hot .38 out there on the street, changing hands in an underworld of freaks, pimps, hookers and pedophiles. As well as Oleg, who can connect Joey to the gun. And even if Joey can make it through the night, he’s still got to answer to his wife (Vera Farmiga)…

At this time I think that 720p is more popular… but the time will come when 1080p will be N1… not soon tho :)

    Btw…
Anyone else experience the 503 (Similar number?) error thing much?
I don’t know, seems like it is local. Nobody seems to be effected when I am able to access via iGoogle feed.

Maybe too much access on my behalf?

@Nuzz: I was affected by it as well and I had to do Ctrl + F5 to make it show up every time I load a different page.

It seems to be fine now though.

    September 23rd, 2007 | 10:43

Great upload but I do agree with #1, 720p is alot more popular and useable than 1080i.

I have seen this film before and I think it’s in one of my top 10 most favourite films, the acting is just brilliant.

I would have to say Paul Walkers best film he’s done.

The only way is to download this one and then convert it down to 720p

  17. McOnyx
    September 23rd, 2007 | 11:01

    @16&17
There is a 720p release of this: Running.Scared.2006.HDDVDRiP.720p.DTS-ES.x264-DEFiNiTiON by group DEFiNiTiON, but it’s also on DVD9, around 7.9 Gigs.

    September 23rd, 2007 | 11:27

Well i think that every HD movie should be 1080p 8gb instead 720p 4gb, because 720 movies aren’t really hd, they are good but it loses much detail, 8gb movies are very good and should be scene’s standart. and if you take a day to download 4gb now i would take two, is it a race to see the movies before your friends?
hey and also, i liked the movie. keep posting HD! :D

    September 23rd, 2007 | 11:45

can someone explain how to put one of these hd movies on a disc to watch in ps3,or is it not possible?

  22. NuZZ
    September 23rd, 2007 | 12:14

    @22.
You need to use a program like Nero or whatever – Google at will.
But you need to encode the movie to run like a DVD, a DVD9 in this case… Unless you want to use a Blueray… Which is pretty damn unlikely.

So you encode, either on two DVD5 or one DVD9. It takes a long time by the way.

I’d rather just watch the 700 meg Xvids on my 17″ lol.

WOW! My first 1080p movie! I will download this movie no matter what! I’m already downloading “El cuervo” 720p and I hope I see some skin! Tits, asses, skin etc. and HD its a good COMBO!
DAMN! Just checked this movie on MR SKIN and itseems that there is no great nudity in this movie! LOL! I will download it anyway! At least some gore and blood or something? Please?…

I just gotta say, even though I love HD releases, this one seems to suck balls. I strongly suggest that you check the sample before you download. It’s a huge file of 102 megs, but after seeing it you won’t be so thrilled of this being 1080p. A huge resolution means nothing by itself. The picture’s just a big noisy mess, really. I think you’ll agree, it looks bad. But on a completely different note, the first sample pic, whoa!

  25. busted
    September 23rd, 2007 | 13:40

Seems a little small for 1080p

  26. FK
    September 23rd, 2007 | 14:11

Very, very noisy picture. Besides, you need a very good computer to run this smoothly. 720p would be enough, as you can fit one of those on an ordinary DVD-R. The video quality on those is also good enough for you to be able to even see dust, blemish and tiny scratches on the actual film so don’t go saying it should be even sharper. Of course, as the digital video technology evolves in the future, higher quality releases will be justified. But as for now, we should stick to 720p’s. You could compare any of SEPTIC’s 720p’s to this and realize the res isn’t everything.

  27. September 23rd, 2007 | 14:46

    very good movie

  28. blunden
    September 23rd, 2007 | 15:00

@FK: That is just a bad source or a bad encode. A good 1080p release looks fantastic and noticably better than 720p. However, a good 720p versus a semi-decent 1080p are pretty close.

However, since it seems many countries (including the US) has mostly crappy connections 720p might be better for them.

  29. ddm
    September 23rd, 2007 | 15:22

But you know this ain’t a scene release, right? ;-)

  30. blunden
    September 23rd, 2007 | 15:54

@ddm: Yeah, we know most x264-releases are not from the scene, which is too bad.

    September 23rd, 2007 | 15:56

Cool with all those hddvd releases but is there are also a normal dvdrip out of this movie for us with lowend pcs??

  32. FK
    September 23rd, 2007 | 16:13

“A good 1080p release looks fantastic and noticably better than 720p.” Well, obviously. But this one’s definitely not worth the wait just because of the quality. 720p’s are my choice simply because they fit onto a single-layer DVD and run perfectly on most decent computers.

    September 23rd, 2007 | 16:25

I’ve seen the sample and it seems that is not that good quality! I’ve expected much more! NOISY? I think this is the correct term to describe it! I don’t think this rip is worth the trouble of downloading 8GB! No sir!

you’re better off just downloading good regular rips of movies and playing them through a upscaling/upconverting dvd player. 8 gigs for a movie is waaaayyy ridiculous.

If you’re looking for a smaller DVDrip, try aXXo’s 700 MB version which was released over a year ago.

Just to let everyone know who doesn’t know, 1080i is not as good as 720p as the p stands for progressive scan so you get every frame and not half and half like interlace scan…. at the top you have 1080p 2nd 720p 3rd 1080i 4th 540p and so on…
