A popular German TV channel RTL is cooperating with game studios for few years now, which results into a whole set of games with their name in the title. RTL Biathlon 2008 is obviously a winter sport game giving you a chance to practise your cross country and aiming skills. It’s almost impossible to find any English info about this titl, everything is just in German o I guess these 2 screenshots will have to be enough for you. It doesn’t look bad…

I don’t think cars made by Citroën do sell very well around the world…as a matter of fact, I don’t think French cars sell very well anywhere except in France.

I would like to say, as a Frenchman, thank you to the United States for getting our beloved country back from the Germans back in the 1940’s. Our French attempted to stop Hitler as the Nazi troops poured through our border, but he quickly overpowered us.
My parents spent a few years as children under the Vichy regime and tell me it was not easy. They cheered in 1944 when Allied troops marched through Paris after liberating France. To this day they still hold a fondness and respect for America and its help to Europe during the war.
The Allied forces consisted of more then 1 country, so America should stop trying to take the credit for everything in WWII
About that, there’s one thing you gotta give the USA credit for… Theyre always smart enough to fight their battles in another country, and never their own. Thats the main reason they were able to catch up with the wealth of Europe in the first place.

Ever wonder why it took america almost 4 years to get to europe? Because they were not willing to sacrifice troops. A then famous senator said “We should let them kill each other off before we consider intervening” When the US actually got there, they had to deal with a battered german army getting pounded from two sides. War planning wasn’t actually needed, as the Brits pretty much had all the field work laid out (which is why the US has lost EVERY.SINGLE.WAR.SINCE). The end game was that France actually came out pretty smart; intact infrastructure prevented the americans from LOOTING.ANYTHING.AND.EVERYTHING.OF.VALUE. Unlike all the countries which did not cower. Then it came back with the bloody Marshall Plan. Yeaaaa. You’re heroes alright. And for all the Europeans, GET YOU fu*cking history straight and stop watching american war movies! More than half of all american-post war tech is GERMAN/JAPANESE. I mean, did you REALLY think those hillbillies could have built a rocket?

No, I’m not German or Japanese. To be fair, you have a few points and in my anger I overlooked a few things. Ok. Let’s do this properly.
@Battered from both sides. Jan/1943 German troops defeated at Stalingrad. That marked the turn on the eastern front. Up until that time, the US had a few sparse air-raids but only put a significant number of troops 9 months later. point for you. They were only battered from one side.
@Operation Garden Market: yes, quite horrible. I would be tempted to point at the Bombing of Dresden but that was a “joint effort.” I will point out that Mi6 network was extensive and the americans had scant intelligence gathering abilities. The offensives were quite horrible, but this makes it difficult to distinguish brit from american initiatives since they cooperated. For better or for worse, I will argue that given the circumstances and brit experience, it was the brit initiative that dominated. This does NOT however, make a case in favour of America’s ability to plan a war, only that the brits’ track record wasn’t squeeky clean.
@looting. I meant that Americans did not loot from france. They could not accomplish this because france was not wartorn and piled with rubble. Too many eyes and a functional government prevented this. The looting occurred primarily in Germany and and other nearby areas. Paintings, Heirlooms, Jewelry, etc etc was removed from west-german cities. There are even speculative theories that a network of americans smuggled valuables from Dresden prior to blowing it up, and it was only a cover up. I cannot claim to support this theory, but I cannot refute it either and contextually it leaves me suspicious.

Most French people claim they were in ‘la resistance’, which makes history sh.i.t itself into the next dimension. at least you admitted you were liberated and didn’t win the war, because you lost it in two out of 6 weeks. yes that’s right, 4 weeks Netherlands and belgium, two weeks france. when general guderian got to the southern border of france the OKWH (Wehrmacht HQ) didn’t believe him. To this day troops of the BEF (british expeditionary force) complain about all the deserting french troops blocking the routes to the front. France lost that war looking like complete t.i.ts, even gaul can’t wipe that from history.

i know you’re on my side but you’re wrong there. disguising one’s displeasing fragrance is not attributed to the french. this occurred in many societies before that using many varied substances and methods. IN fact, body odour wasn’t always seen as something abhorrent, there were times when people used to rub peeled apples into their arm-pits to absorb their ’scent’ to give as a gift to a loved one - when they went away for a long time.

For one there was the eastern front, the other as most scholars (ritter, trevor roper) would agree was the partisan and civilian level of resistance. The french, those proud warriors of ww1, formed the resistance that they like to claim everyone of their grandparents was in were a second front.
When referring to D-Day, please remember that american hardware (HARDWARE) played an important role, as did the british, french ( who had formed the core of the battle hardened training - thanks to halt order by hitler in 41), australians new zealanders, indian troops and a score of others… yes look that up you high-and-mighty t.ar.d. maybe pick up a copy of general heinz guderian biography to make your ba.l.ls curl.

once again as i go through the points. SPOT ON. nice to know there are more people out there who don’t get their history from movies and shallow documentaries. Books are the best source when read objectively. And a study doesn’t hurt.
One thing i might correct you on is the looting and the initial invasion at normandy. The ‘allies’ were not greeted warmly by the local french populace at that time - why should they thank people that just shelled and killed all sorts of sh.i.t around them.
looting. the americans looted as much as any invading-occupying army has ever done in history. it is no small surprise that many works of art from france, germany, belgium, netherlands etc… that were accounted for before ww2 and perhaps a bit longer (the germans looted to, no surprise) ended up in auction houses in america. there is a fair amount of documented trivia on this, which i can’t be fucgged to bring links to right now or even refer books.
