Slightly late post here due to an untimely release for the editors. I would go through what this show is about but I think most of you already know. Starting on 21 January 2008, Sky One is broadcasting a five-part series Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, which entails Kemp following the 1st Battalion of the British Army’s Royal Anglian Regiment during their deployment to Afghanistan’s Helmand Province from March to August 2007.

Ay man… You know i hate to tell you this but this dude is a snitch. Seriously, this guy Ross Kemp (A.K.A Snitch) has snitched on a whole lotta people. Rèmember the Ross Kemp On Gangs -series? Remember how he was filmin those criminals all the time? That’s snitchin if you ask me – he has snitched on every single gang that he filmed. He simply used the videotapes as evidence.
And now he gon snitch on them soldiers.

@9 Lol. That’s the whole point. To expose gang violence and their working to greater public scrutiny. And how does that make you a snitch?
As for this series, probably the best documentary I’ve seen in the last year. The up close and personal look at combat brings us somewhere as a viewer that I’ve never been before. With scenes as if straight from movies, but with a degree of realism that you don’t achieve when the camera operator can do anything he wants. What really brings this documentary to life for me is the amazing sound. Never before has combat and it’s toils felt so close to my heart and understanding. Really highly recommend this documentary for everyone. From anti-war protesters to war/gun fanatics or just a guy that wants to know what’s going on in the world. You’ll all love it.

@12 lulzkilla, if you like this you’ll love Commando on the Frontline. It’s 6×30mins and followers a 50 year old filmaker train as a paratrooper and go into battle in Afghanistan (eps 5-6 if you wanna miss the training). He gets into much hairer gun fights than Kemp, the camera work is better and you actually get to hear the sound of bullets whizzing passed his head.

@20 Tankon: That sounds amazing and I’m very very interested. Is this for the current war or what? Actually, the sound of bullets and rpg’s flying overhead on my 5.1 was what really left the deepest impact on me from all these episodes so far, but if this is even better, than I’m greatly looking forward to watching it.

Well if they agreed to an interview in the first place then that’s their problem. Obviously they know it’s risky and could be used as evidence. At least in one of the eps, the guys had masks on.
@25 commando, cheers for providing that brilliant link. I could only find one episode as a torrent and feared I might have been guilty of teasing lulzkilla with a proggie he couldn’t obtain.
And yes lulzkilla, the series is about para’s training for, and fighting in, the current Afghanistan conflict. Turns out there’s more episodes than I remembered but the fightings still in the last few shows. However, there’s a chance the YouTube vid might not fully utilize your 5.1 sound setup.
Oops, for paratroopers read commandos in my previous comments. Guess the clue was in the shows title.
