Ross Kemp in Afghanistan Part 2 HDTV XviD-SFM

Nice! SFM releases the second part of the five part series “Ross Kemp in Afghanistan” (Part 1 Here). The first part was quite intriguing as it gave the viewer insight into what it is like to prepare yourself for entering a war zone. Naturally one can never truly understand what its like unless you’ve experienced it yourself, nevertheless a highly interesting documentary. Will be interesting to see what Mr. Kemp experiences in part 2.

Starting on 21 January 2008, Sky One is broadcasting a five-part series Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, which entails Kemp following the 1st Battalion of the British Army’s Royal Anglian Regiment during their deployment to Afghanistan’s Helmand Province from March to August 2007.

The battle scenes were great, unfortunatley there is probably only 10 mins max of the actual operation, the rest is build up etc.

Hopefully part 3 and 4 will show even more action.

Remember sky news who plays this is owned by Rupert Murdoch of Fox news who is pro war. So this may be propaganda for war.

lol at the accusations of propaganda…it’s not propaganda as such…it’s a program supporting the army.

…although I suppose if the program pretends to be impartial or pretends it’s trying to show ‘the truth’, then yeah, it’s propaganda.

    January 30th, 2008 | 12:26

The part were he starts talking like he knows what the hell is going on to that villager is indeed the low point of the program since hes supposed to be reporting not voicing opinions but the series is still pretty interesting and i cant wait for the other parts.

  34. ROSS KEMP IS A SNITHC
    January 30th, 2008 | 16:23

Ay man… You know i hate to tell you this but this dude is a snitch. Seriously, this guy Ross Kemp (A.K.A Snitch) has snitched on a whole lotta people. Rèmember the Ross Kemp On Gangs -series? Remember how he was filmin those criminals all the time? That’s snitchin if you ask me – he has snitched on every single gang that he filmed. He simply used the videotapes as evidence. And now he gon snitch on them soldiers.

  35. jordan
    January 30th, 2008 | 16:31

To hell with ‘british troops’, I only watch this to watch ‘hard man’ kemp squirm like a girl and to see the Taliban kick the asses of the illegal invaders. Shouldn’t be there.

Maybe the army is there just to expend expiring ammo and to gain experience points…war is unavoidable in this world.

well there was action, but id like to see more action. Its understandable that he cant film what they shoot at and stuff like that but war is war, wheres the victims? just feels to censored..

But a good watch anyway ;) even though all you see is his face and shots going off.

7/10 lolz score, could be better but sadly information is controlled.

    @ 43

If you are going to quote someone at least get it right. The actual quote is: “Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”, and it is absolutely irrelevant to what I said.

I have just watched episode 1 & 2 and I feel that unlike any other media outlet… this program was filmed to show the viewer the soldiers (and families) view point.. so instead of watching it as you would the news (unattached) you find yourself feeling for these guys…..well I did anyway.

And as for Ross Kemp I got the impression he wasn’t allowing himself to be a media puppet for Sky.

So instead of making your mind up on this program with reviews only watch it.

You will see War in a more real way and not just CNN soundbites.

I am a mother, my son is fighting in Afghanistan and this programme at least gives me some sort of insight into what he is doing! Not a day goes by where we are not thinking about him and praying for his safe return home. We live in South Africa, and feel very removed from the war as such. So I want to say thank you to Ross Kemp for putting his life into obvious danger so that the rest of the world, loved ones in particular, can have an inkling into what our sons are doing!
