Ronin 1998 720p BluRay x264-REVEiLLE

Here’s a great movie that I’ve seen many times and now I can think of nothing better than enjoying it in HD. Robert DeNiro, Jean Reno and Sean Bean play in this one, so if you haven’t seen it yet, grab this :D . Kick ass quality and amazing DTS audio, and thanks REVEiLLE for including some info in your nfo on how to play your releases.

Ronin is the Japanese word used for Samurai without a master. In this case, the Ronin are outcast specialists of every kind, whose services are available to everyone – for money. Dierdre (undoubtedly from Ireland) hires several Ronin to form a team in order to retrieve an important suitcase from a man who is about to sell it to the Russians. After the mission has been completed successfully, the suitcase immediately gets switched by a member of the team who seems to work into his own pocket. The complex net of everyone tricking everyone begins to surface slowly, and deadly…

    @Modius

    these films are ripped (copied) from bluray discs and then recompressed to fit onto single (4.7GB) or dual layer(9GB) DVD’s depending on what size (720p/1080p) the movie is.

    Blu-ray Discs to hold 25GB/50GB and you do need bluray players to view those.

    hope that clears somethings up.

    This is a brilliant film – Sean Bean is so great.

    this sounds counterintuitive – is there a major difference between the original 4.7gb of the DVD versus a compressed bluray to 4.7?

    one would think the quality would suffer due to the extreme compression.

    @ n000b

    What do you mean? There is no Original and compressed. A DVD is using MPEG-2 Compression with 720×480 (525 Pal) Pixel……BlueRay 720p is using 1280×720pixel with x264 compression. So…..BlueRay has superior quality…and DVD is just standard TV quality.

    I think we need a “newb guide to hdtv” on this site and in the forum

    Honestly a very good movie for the rare few who may have slept on this gem. Fans of war, espionage, CIA and KGB assassin, and general action thrillers will get their fix from this movie. This is urban warfare on the streets of France jacked up full throttle.

    Great movie and I can’t wait to see it in HD

    Now you to can virtually experience the thrill of chauffeur Henri Paul driving Princess Diana at high speed through the Pairs streets to avoid being caught (add half a bottle of vodka for extra realism)
