Interesting release by group Larceny, who are quickly establishing themselves as providers of high-quality DVDRips. This Australian Drama film stars Eric Bana and Franka Potente (“Lola Rennt”), and it has won several awards in its home country. Ratings are a bit mixed, but it can’t be too bad. The quality is good on just 1 CD.

Synopsis: Actor Richard Roxburgh makes a smooth transition to directing with this moving drama adapted from Raimond Gaita’s memoir. Eric Bana (MUNICH) stars as Romulus, a Yugoslavian man who struggles to raise his young son alone in Victoria, Australia. After the family moves from Europe, his wife’s depression takes over and she leaves her husband and son alone to fend for themselves in the foreign country. Franka Potente (THE BOURNE IDENTITY) plays the absent mother, while Marton Csokas and Russell Dykstra costar.

    coming from australia, just let you guys know saw this on dvd 6 months ago and was the biggest waste of 1 1/2 hours of my life, movie is extremely slow and pointless
    BTW it doesnot take much to win an award at the AFI’s

    @16…no, a docU for dumb people like you, cabron, to have their small brains expanded to ultimate knowlegde about crazy things in our sick world today….sharks do exist for 400 mio. years now and are declining due to abominations by greedy concerns slaughthering millions of sharks each year. This movie is a must for everyone THINKING human being….why does only dolphins and whales have such a big lobby??? What will happen to our ecosystem if sharks are extinct is a must-know!
    So, keep dwelling in your micro-cosmos and die unknowing about issues of concern…

    Sharks kick ass (in more ways than 2)! Fascinating predators that are extremely important to the balance of life in the world’s oceans. They’ll outlive humans on the planet, unless we kill them off first.

    Would this movie be good for a mature person, mudgeewayne?

    If someone has not seen Lola rennt, do watch.
    Am not about to watch this one as am too drunk, takes lots of time even to write but wanted to say that is one of the best movies, watched one with english subtitles so there are some.

    there are heaps of sweet aussie movies (gettin square, dirty deeds, the castle, etc…) and in case you didn’t realise there are that many aussie stars at the top of the american film industry it may as well be an aussie awards ceremony (Nicole Kidman, Toni Collete, Eric Bana, Hugh Jackman, poor old butt f**k mountain dead guy just to name a few. you dumb bastards.

    I watched this being filmed in Castlemaine. I almost ran over Franka Potente as she crossed the road! Well worth the watch, the imdb rating doesn’t do it justice.
