Rolling Stones – Shine A Light [2008]

Hello PPL, i would say this can be called a big mp3 release. It is the new Live album by the legendary Rolling Stones. At the same time its the soundtrack for Martin Scorsese’s documentary, about the Stones. 2CD in high quality vbr mp3. “The album features a selection of live favourites taken from the band’s huge catalogue of work.” I will check this one out for sure.

The Rolling Stones are an English band whose rhythm and blues and rock & roll- based music became popular during the “British Invasion” in the early 1960s. The band were formed in London in 1962 by original leader Brian Jones, but were eventually led by the songwriting partnership of singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. The band have released 55 albums of original work and compilations, and have had 32 U.K & U.S top-10 singles. They have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide.

Wow.. No offense, but this just shows the age, maturity, and understanding of some of the folk here. I mean honestly…. The rolling stones have been a BIG movement, in WORLD CULTURE and music ACROSS the globe for quite a few “DECADES” now.

If you don’t have anything useful to say then don’t say anything at all…. go dl some tranny porn, and satisfy yourself you ignorant bastages. I mean honestly… are you all just posting to see your post, or is there some sort of meaning to it??

Thanks for this post, great band. Great Release.

  12. March 26th, 2008 | 05:05

Plonut i DO recon that the stones are a big movement in WORLD CULTURE and i think these things should be posted on rlslog. i dont say its a big mp3 rls for nothing :)

This one won’t be avalable for a long time on the scene until a DVDRip or DVDScr because this film is ONLY for IMAX. It MAY get a Digital 3D release but everyone doubts it

Plonut, fomr what i read nobody said anything about them not being “BIG movement, in WORLD CULTURE and music ACROSS the globe for quite a few DECADES now”.

shame people can even appreciate what they created, its not a new album its just a live cd of previous gigs, but i guess its ok for a bunch of pansies to wear make up, stick their tongues out, wear high heeled boots, gorilla chests showing. Oh yeah give 1 of em a lame ass reality show too and show everyone how cool he thinks he is. ;-p

There is only one geezer that still rocks..

David Bowie.. at least he still creates interesting music and has his finger on the pulse of “current” artists. He has recently played with artists ranging from The Arcade Fire to Placebo. Can you imagine the rolling stones sharing the stage with anyone.. please. They ceased being relevant in the late 1970’s. LOL

‘Shine A Light’ is the third live album to released by
the Rolling Stones and serves as the soundtrack
to Martin Scorsese’s documentary of the same name.
Recorded in the autumn of 2006 at New York’s Beacon Theatre
over two nights, the album features a selection of live
favourites taken from the band’s huge catalogue of work.
Included are guest appearances from The White Stripes’ Jack White,
legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy and American pop singer Christina Aguilera.

@33 – Bob Dylan (apart from his early years) is hardly reference material … Anyone following his career lost respect for him decades ago … As for Brian being dropped by the Stones, why don’t you read about him first ?

Sympathy for the devil is one of the best songs ever, I’m 25 and I can’t stand most music from the past, but the Rolling Stones are more rock n roll than all the sissy bands that we have nowadays, they still sound great. Any news on a scene release of the Raconteurs new album? I got the p2p version last week and that is pretty much perfect.

Thats a double whammy. Don’t like Martin Scorsese nor Rolling Stones. I do like tranny porn tho :)
Just because some band existed for decades doesn’t mean it is good. On the other hand, (@24) second that, David Bowie is real artist, evolving and changing his sound and style thorough the decades. RS just kept rolling same sound, so boring, something like that other annoyance whose songs sound all the same… Bon Jovi… gosh, I even hate writing his name. Look at some older bands like Depeche Mode how nicely they evolved.

Fuggin’ RlsLog – always late and always communist about what gets posted. If you can’t “Rls” proper scene releases, newest apps and movies, WTF are you even doing wasting peoples time?

You allow flaming, bullying and every other oddity self-admittedly against YOUR OWN RULES.

I have seen others and as well as myself – try to contribute to this board releases you are too fuggin’ lame to post cause you would rather post 50 lame assed news stories, apps no one cares about etc etc etc… …and you delete them? Why – cause your own fuggin’ RS account is weening dry?

Stop deleting the posts people are trying to help OTHERS with (unlike your own self-absorbed postings) start posting some quality instead of crap.

Funny thing is that today’s parents often frown upon their kids listening to some wannabe gansta-rappers…because the are all crackheads, criminals, with girls made up like whores etc.

But in fact many of just these today’s parents took part in the flower power movement in which everyone was high on LSD, opium, mushrooms etc., everyone f***ing everyone because of sexual freedom, listening to bands like the Stones that were all on heroin, cocaine, alcohol -with every second of their “idols” dying to an overdose.

Well well…. seems that todays youth likes to P!ss on the oldies. If it doesn’t have a constant bombing beat, blonde bimbos or death, satan and blood. It´s a nono! Just think one sec, do you really think that once you hit the grandpa age, you’ll still appreciate the music you’re pumpin into your ears nowadays? The best proof of quality for music is it’s timelessness. You’ll understand when you get there.

All I have to say is you don’t consistantly sell out stadium after stadium for 40 years if you are not any good. If the people keep coming and you enjoy what you are doing why not do it as long as you can. The Stones are LEGENDS in their own time. Most of the groups to come out in the last 5-10 years will be lucky if anybody even knows who they were forty years much less sellout a stadium(most couldn’t fill up a stadium now)

yeah, that’s the only thing they got going for them : money !
what do i have from that ? nothing ! i would have gotten the same music out of it if they stopped decades ago…
is there any reason why there needed to be a documentary made about them NOW ? yeah, to make mo’ money !
it surely won’t be about their musical explorations – guess why :-P
the rolling stones are about making money through rock’n'roll, to get drugs and (whatever gets you) sex…
and how did they get old ? don’t take too many risks, i guess,
but that kind of stance alienated & killed brian james !

& posers like this can’t hold a candle to bob dylan, oldrocker
