Sorry, not a clone of Guitar Hero.
No, MUCH better than Guitar Hero.
I don't feel it's really a "clone" completely. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Guitar Hero only Guitar and Bass, instead of Rockband which was Guitar, Vocal's, Drums, and Bass? I'm not entirely 100% sure about that, as I never did get into Guitar Hero when it was out, but that's the way I think it was. And then Guitar Hero World Tour came out of course, after Rock Band, and copied them, this time using Drums and Vocal's as well. Again, I could be wrong, but if I'm not, it's kind of like Rock Band liked their idea and wanted to expand it, and it was more Guitar Hero that cloned Rock Band after they saw the use of more instruments.
Each disc has a unique game key that links to your Wii ID. The game uploads all information (even character changes) to the RB server, which also allows you to access your game data over the internet. This will probably also prevent you from using DLC without purchasing an original disc.
If you don't want to deal with all that though, there should be a setting to keep it from trying to connect to the server (besides turning off the Wii's connectivity).
This game made my Wii start on fire after burning it onto a disc. Is this normal since Rockband 2 is such a hot game as of now?
And in the way of who cloned who, Harmonix (the makers of RB) were the creators of Guitar Hero, but were bought out by Activision (who released GH3 and GH:WT), while Harmonix went on to create RB (by improving off what they had done in previous GH games).
So RB is technically a clone/improvement of GH, while GH:WT is a clone/improvement (this can be argued) of RB.

Ok I hope the rock band series bombs out in sales cause in Australia we are only just now getting the first rock band and i bet we won't get rock band 2 until the usa gets rock band 3. what a stupid way to do business. Oh well what a better way to encourage piracy.
Can you use the same guitar from Guitar Hero with Rock Band?
Of course I noticed the color bands on the neck are in a different configuration, and Guitar Hero has 5 colors

The pic shown is for drums not guitar. And yes you can use the Guitar Hero guitar for Rock Band 2.

This will work on a PAL Wii.
I used WiiBrickBlocker on the iso first and then Region Free Patcher and then burned the iso in Imgburn. Runs perfectly on my PAL Wii 4.0E with D2Pro(e) modchip. I can also use my Guitar From Guitar Hero World Tour, so no problems for me running this game.
