RLSLOG back online after 3h downtime

Uff. I hope you feel as relieved as me. I just spent 3 hours convincing our current ISP to put the site back online. What happened? A simple copyright infrigement email from some stupid internet investigator company (or rather a bot) caused our ISP go nuts and shut down the whole site after I refused to delete that particular thread. The email says we are illegaly offering copies of certain game, which is of course not true. The another paradox: it was Unreal Tournament 3, half a year old game noone really cares about now.

One would think that writing few paragraphs and posting a few links to third party sites can’t cause you much trouble in country where’s the freedom of speech. Well, it can. I can be lucky the site is running at least, the post was removed and we will have to find a new home for our project pretty fast as our ISP doesn’t like to host it anymore. I’m just so disgusted right now by attitude of these people with whom I closely cooperated (and paid) for more than two years. Anyway, the site is back for you and I can finaly take some sleep…

    Uff indeed!
Well, best wishes from all of us. Its scary (yet not suprising) how litle it takes for a host to drop you like a hot potatoe. Guess they themself have no idea what the law actualy is about stuff like this.
Your not hosting, your not even tracking and not even hosting any torrent files… there is NO basis to shut you donw. But we all know… that doesnt mean it wont happen.

Good luck finding a host that isnt scared as easily!! And think about taking people up on offers for backup servers.
They wont be able to sustain the load of this site full time, but for an event like this it can come in handy.

What if this site and a whole lot of similar sites were to get together and set up their own server on a tiny island outside the jurisdiction of any national government? The costs could be shared among many sites and it would ensure a much safer enviornment. Just wondering.

Content Distributors like the RIAA and the MPAA are only going to hold on to their monopolized market. That is until enough momentum builds up in which these old methods become excessively more expensive to continue.

Already, Sony has sold it’s Blue-ray plant, because like Microsoft, they both already understand, it’s just more profitable to offer instant download, than press another disk.

The ironic thing here is that while these older corporations fight against P2P, there going to be using it ahead in order to distribute copies by the hundreds of millions at a given time. You know they will want to use P2P because unlike centralized storage where you let users or customers here download your content, you really don’t want a server farm costing huge amounts of money, when you can have every downloader share it for you, which actually is faster the bigger the sharing of the download file/s.

These greedy self serving corporations only care about the bottom line, that is how to make the biggest profits, for it’s shareholders in general.

So until people unite and stand together, these if you don’t mind me saying so, “bastards” will continue to deny everyone their right to share amonst society the works by society. While they get to make billions of copies and mass distribute all this for a profit which serves their own interest.

I say, boycott them all! If everyone is willing to do just that, they have no legal means to fight you. If everyone just boycotts all these self serving capitalist, whatever you want to call them, who think they only get the right to distribute everyone’s work which they didn’t create, and yet are solely entitled to profit, we can all just prove to them once and for all, without us, there is nothing at all for them to hold over us and against us.

Are you tired of being pushed around, told you’re all pirates?

RIAA and the MPAA are the real pirates by doing exactly what they deny everyone else from doing.

RIAA and MPAA shouldn’t be telling everyone it’s only okay for them to mass produce in the billions of copies which they profit for, while individuals of the society are forbidden to even just share their own culture’s work without profiting, and be told, you’re all pirates. Off with you head and all…

It’s totally ridiculous… Boycott them as there is nothing more powerful then by NOT supporting them with your money. That’s the only and one thing they have no defense.

They cannot force you to buy, and they cannot pass a law forcing everyone to purchase anything from them. Consumers have these rights to pick and chose, to say NO or yes.

We the people, need only to stand up against all this unfairness. No court is needed, nothing but our action of NOT purchasing anything from these bastards.

Have the courage to stand up!

Have the willingness to boycott these bastards!
