AVENGED bring us clonedvd of this new RPG game “Risen”, made by same team who’s behind “GOTHIC” game titles. Keep in mind this is clonedvd only, you might get it working by following instructions from NFO, or wait for a cracked release to be pre’d.     @40 The game is WAY better than G3 was at version 1.0. The fighting system is rather decent, graphics are great and quests seem to be interesting (I only got to the city though). However the size of the world is about the same as G2 was (or even smaller).

    Been playing for about 3 – 4 hours, this game resembles very much gothic 2 – night of the raven add-on with its exotic atmosphere and similar landscapes.
    The world is very detailed just like in gothic 3, the graphics aren't the best ones out there, but they fit quite well in the game.

    The game seems to run VERY well on athlon x2 5000+ and radeon 4850hd all performance options maxed out in 1920×1080, no hiccups at all, it just runs smooth as butter… haven't figured out how to get the console, so can't give out average FPS.

    On the difficuly side I find this one MUCH easier than ANY of the gothics… yes even gothic 3, it was so horrible that it made melee combat almost impossible for me.

    In short I find Risen very enjoyable and so far bug free experience, Gothic 2 has been my all time favorite adventure-rpg so far but I think this one may be well worthy challenger to change that.

    Oh right and the AVENGED version works with DT lite 4.30 on windows 7 x64 without any probs, just mount and play… so there you have it: my small rant on this game…

    Well I have to use healing potions after every fight and am now stuck in the camp not knowing what to do next to win the lieutenant's favors.
    It's kinda rough to play but for rewarding for sure.
    Bliss, that you can skip through the dialogue …
    this has to be standard for every game everywhere! (see AC 1 – not replayable)

    @99: Runs smoothly (+60 FPS) on my comp.

    This is english (only?) version.

    After installing, only thing you need is to mount the image or that mini image from gamecopyworld.com and the game will run.

    This in English only; it's is the full English version (subtitles and spoken dialogue).

    Couldn't get it to install with DTpro, so I used Alcohol 50% to install. For some reason the install kept freezing up, so I installed in 'Safe Mode' and that solved the problem. It doesn't need a crack; I just leave the image mounted and the game runs fine.

    I think the game looks OK personally, and it plays very smooth, and even though the voice dialogue is kinda iffy, this is going to be a fun game, IMO.

    Don’t listen to the idiots.

    Hard to believe how well it runs, even on my 2 year old machine. Beautifully smooth, go underground to dungeons and back overground again with no loading,great fight animations. Oh yes and the shaders are great too — distant objects look realistic.
    Great game – this is what Gothic 3 should have been. Only been playing it for a day but I already love it.

    Opinion after 6 hours:

    This game is quite a lot of fun so far. To me it feels like what Gothic 3 should have been. The only bug I could find (maybe not even a bug really) is that the forward jump is a little clunky. The combat is much improved over Gothic 3 (not broken this time) and there is much more polish with just about everything. The graphics are quite good/pretty though I hear the console version is not nearly as eye candy. The quests actually have a map this time that is useful and it is really feeling like one of those great rpg’s so far. It seems somewhere between the witcher and Gothic 3.

    I’m now about 10 hours into the game, and it’s an awful lot like the Gothic games, and better than Gothic 3 by far in presentation and performance. I think just about anybody that liked Gothic 1 and 2 will very much enjoy Risen.

    I am playing for 3 hours and I think this game looks pretty nice – in fact I was pleasantly surprised after reading bad comment about the graphics that they are as good as they are…I must note that a friend came over in the middle and he DID comment on the graphics “what is this game? why are you playing this…the graphics look very old…” is what he said.
    Other than that there is a bug with the camera that makes it shake once in a while but it isn’t a big problem…This game IS fun and there is allot to do and see…I am having fun and am going to get this as soon as it gets to a store near me…

    Game worked good except for some minor glitches up until chapter 3: the temple. Now I can’t draw my weapon. Has anyone made it this far and can you draw your weapon?

    Midknight: I ran into this problem too. Unfortunately, the only solution I found was to keep going back and loading increasingly older save games until you find one where your character can draw his weapon (not good if you use your ‘quicksave’ a lot and don’t save on a ‘regular’ save slot). But that was the only thing that worked for me. I usually use the quicksave but make a point of saving at least two other save slots every 10 or 15 minutes.

    PL: Make sure you have the 6.45 GB Avenged CloneDVD download. I noticed a few torrents that were something like 2.35 GB; I didn’t try them but I doubt they’re legit. I used Alcohol 52% (freeware version) to install and play the game and it worked fine.

    go to the game folder and run the game from there. do not use shortcuts.

    @ Monkey: Thanks man, i thought it was a bug. Unfortunately I used the quick save the entire game :( Great game though, got me too addicted. But I don’t know if I should start all over again, it took me quite a many hours to get to chapter 3. Maybe I’ll just start over and choose a different path, although its so fun being a bandit, I would like to learn more about magic. And i’m pretty sure I got the real one, I don’t download from torrents, I alternate between newshosting and giganews, its the only way to download.

    P.S. advice to newbies of risen: Pull on every ring on the wall, I found like 20 hidden passage ways so far.

    BTW, I just noticed, my version is avenged’ version, but the image is only 4.40 gb and there is no doubt in my mind that its the real version. Maybe 5gb with pars, so I don’t know what in your archives makes up a gb.

    There may be some other solution to the ‘not being able to draw weapon’ bug, but going back through older saves is the only solution I found. I also don’t know if the problem is exclusive to the Avenged version. In any case, playing the game rotating 4 or 5 saves seems to be a way to avoid having to replay large chunks of the game over again. I was lucky I ran into the bug when I was fighting in the arena in the swamp, relatively early in the game.

    PL: I had trouble with MagicISO as well as Daemon Tools. The one that worked for me was Alcohol 52% freeware:

    Also, for some odd reason, I had to install this in Windows XP safe mode, otherwise it kept locking up midway through the install.

    And to clarify, when I said I had to install in safe mode, I meant Risen, not Alcohol 52%. Also, HIO has some good advice, trying to run the risen.exe from the game folder; that’s worked for me before.

    I also downloaded from newtorrents. the torrent contains an nfo,sfv and the rar files. extracting the rar files give u the MDF and MDS files. are you sure the download is fully completed and have u tried extracting the files again?

    HIO & Monkey: Thanks a lot for your help. All this mess is MY STUPID MISTAKE. I decompressed archives using TotalCommander instead of WinRAR. The result was *.MDF file ONLY (4.40GB/4.45GB) without *.MDS

    This was really stupid (I have over 25 years of IT experience…) – SORRY GUYS! :-)

    DO NOT download rapidshare links from #142 (everythingrapid) upon extraction you will find the file avg-rsn.r31 to be missing, thus rendering your whole download UNUSABLE. you’ve been warned. (of course you can try downloading the missing part from some torrent and hope it works, im doing that now.)

    Trust me people. This is a FAKE. Just only Mds – Mdf – Reg and stupid txt files. If you have another mdf file, there is no reason to download it.

    you dont need it you just need the latest daemon tools to mound and install this mdf image. The old daemon versions dont work.
